Possibly but they would probably detect lifeforms on the ship and maybe destroy it. There are going to be other movies hopefully so we just have to see. Although that doesn't make sense if they are supposed to smack into alien.
if David has means to produce more eggs or facehuggers that ship is a death trap where David can reign hell down on whoever or whatever he finds. Plus it seems like the aliens have an affinity for him. As the one was trying to communicate with him. Perhaps that's some of the trial and error he's been working on.
