MemberChestbursterJul-01-2017 7:24 AMNothing went right over my head bucko, haha. I had already posted my answer before I even saw the other comment from Vivisected Engineer and I am not giving it any more thought than that. That was painful enough, let's all jump on the guy who has a different opinion than the Ridley Scott apologists. This movie sucks, Ridley has lost it. I could go through every problem this movie has but you would all come up with some kind of excuse to why nobody asks David what the hell happened to all the engineer people in the city or how a dude gets face hugged for a couple seconds and is then chest bursted later. Or how they wear no helmets or any kind of suit whatsoever on an unknown planet where there could be any number of unknown pathogens. The list goes on and on.

MemberChestbursterJul-01-2017 7:47 AMDon't bother commenting back cause I won't be reading any of your comments. So save your breath, I'm nearly bored to death and fading fast. Life is too short to last long. I'm gonna go listen to some Blink and watch good movies!

MemberChestbursterJul-01-2017 8:00 AMIsn't it delightful that it went over his head, though? Look how much time and energy he put into dwelling on the memory of something he hates.
And, I couldn't help but feel pleased to learn that at some point he wanted to walk out of the film but continued to sit through it anyway for some reason.
Anyhow, I rather enjoyed reading his comment because it reminded me of a few of my favorite parts of the film. David, for example is my favorite character, and I particularly like the Captain Oram chestburster scene. So that was fun, to be reminded of.
Enjoyable conversation all the way around, I'd say. Too bad Dr. Curt Connors will no longer be participating and further contemplating the object of his hatred, because I for one would really enjoy that.
Also, I think it is fun to learn that Dr. Curt Connors is very confident that faced with similar circumstances, he would make better decisions than the crew of the Covenant. Envisioning Dr. Curt Connors in similar circumstances is also an amusing thought.

MemberChestbursterJul-01-2017 9:37 AMThis thread took a quick turn for the worse... Haha but it's nice to see the date. I almost went ahead and preordered, but I am going to wait to make my purchase until the details of the special features are released (if they are released. If not, an instore pruchase is fine and dandy). I am honestly going to find, like, the most expensive and in-depth version possible. I am hoping for a documentary similiar the what Prometheus offered, ("The Furious Gods," was the title I think) and what not.

Sorry for the ugliness this thread brought about. Still stoked A:C will be coming out soon and yes, hopefully there will be a documentary similar to what Prometheus had!

MemberChestbursterJul-01-2017 10:07 AMThanks... I'm 0% sorry, because I genuinely thought it was all good fun. All of this is nothing more serious than entertainment after all...
But yes, I'm also super stoked A:C will be here sooner rather than later, I hope we get lots of cool extra features.
Also, I hope my Covenant T-Shirts get here in time for Facehuggers!'s documentary interview!

MemberTrilobiteJul-01-2017 10:07 AMcuponator3000 I suspect we will get milked by several versions- theatrical cut, director's cut a bit later, a repackaging of the whole series including AC, a special bundling with a Walter figure, the 10, 20 and 30 year anniversery cuts with special footage not seen in the original (that they could have released with the first blu ray) etc... We are all in for a good thorough fleecing ;)

MemberChestbursterJul-01-2017 12:42 PMHaha @dk, it's an expensive habit! This article, ‘Alien: Covenant’ Steelbook Revealed; 4K Blu-ray Pre-Orders Rising , gives a few details about some of the offerings. Well, one, the Steel-box set (blu-ray) that has the movie and another disc (unkown if it is DVD version or special features). The other is that repackaging of the whole series so far.
The cover for the steelbox is amazing and if entire series cover in the article is the real one, then it is kind of cool too! It kind of shows how oddball Prometheus is compared to the Alien franchise though (consdiering it isn't an Alien/gore fest) because they put the Deacon on there haha!
But yeah, I smell a Director's cut for this one. Even though I am pretty sure that Ridley is happy with the way it turned out. He doesn't necessarily like doing them either (I think.) I can imagine it being released slightly before or after the Covenant sequel to hype that theatrical release up and maybe win back some of the detractors at the same time. Then again, it will probably be included in one of those anniversary editions like you said, dk.

MemberTrilobiteJul-01-2017 1:07 PMI was just being cynical and it's a reality lol!
Maybe we can just buy the empty metal box and put the Anthology we already have in that.

MemberDeaconJul-01-2017 4:11 PMBugger... again i have to choose between the coolest Box, the most extras in the Package and the Most Extras on the DVD/Blu-ray
Not really sure for me AC is worth the extra investment so i will go for the Media which has the most extras... then few years latter maybe pick the other ones up cheaper.
Then again Collectors boxes can go up in value.. darn it lol

MemberTrilobiteJul-01-2017 9:43 PMBigDave Oh- that voice acting on the read along book/tape lol! That was back before home video and everything else so that was the stuff back then.
The Star Wars album at least had the original voice actors- it was just tight audio editing from the movie boiled down to fit on an LP. My friend and I listened to it just about every day the summer SW came out:

MemberFacehuggerJul-02-2017 2:22 AMI will wait for a review here before buying it.
In worst case scenarios there are no hidden scenes and just RL set-recaps which we similar-like saw floating around in the inet.

MemberChestbursterJul-02-2017 9:47 AM@dk LOL, of COURSE we will get milked...and we will buy, buy, buy buy...cuz that's what rabid fanbases do.
Hell, look at what they did with the DVD releases of LOtRs...and Harry Potter for that matter---nothing like raping your fanbase, I guess.
Man, I miss Dr. Curt Connors and so wish he were here...

MemberFacehuggerJul-03-2017 5:16 AMDavid is a fantastic character, even more so when contrasted with Walter. The chestburster scene is terrific, and its CGI is bordering on beautiful. Just because you don't understand something isn't a reason to storm out of the cinema. Chill out. Reflect on what David knows and you don't. Reflect on the Prometheus mural with outstretched arms. Reflect on Holloway lifting his outstretched arms. Reflect on the theme of Christian sacrifice and the outstretched arms. Oh, and the music was awesomely delivered in the scene.
If you think that the identity of a favoured android with his missing hand, American accent, scar damage and familiar clothing needs to be challenged as a matter of course, really what can I say? Daniels doesn't have paranoia or a persecution complex, as far as we know.

MemberNeomorphJul-03-2017 8:31 AMI don’t have a clue about the normal practice of when they release a movie as DVD’s or Blu-rays compared to when it has been released in the movie theaters so I won’t say anything about that. Having said this I don’t think that being emotional about something is very good when you are about to discuss what ever it might be because then it tends to become a mess.
Covenant isn’t fantastic and I don’t love it, but it is better compared to many other Alien related movies. I don’t see the point about spewing hate over a movie, I don’t think that it is worth to get that upset about it. At the same time, I think that it is hilarious that some people get so upset about movies so they do videos about it where it looks like the whole world is about to come to an end judging from their reactions. Go to Youtube to watch some reactions, it is totally bizarre.
Lawrence of Arabia has a point that it isn’t that bad to get 228 million dollars from a movie that costs 97 million to make.

MemberFacehuggerJul-03-2017 8:42 AM@Thoughts_Dreams ..It'll be over 300 million once Blu-ray and DVD sales come in

Maybe, we'll see how many that are interested in buying it. I would like to see official statistics about it before I make any conclusion.
