this is my theory of why david dednt actually create the xenomorphs from scratch.

1: when david bombs the engineers, as soon as the black goo interacts with plant life, it creates neomorph spores. are you going to tell me that not once in the engineers history did they see what there genetic mutation fluid would do if it got onto plants? I think not. even if it had never been purposfly experimented on that not once did a canister of black goo tip over and fall onto a plant? the lids to those things were unlocked!

2: The engineers in that hologram in prometheous were running from something. now i am not sure, but if something is dangurous for our literal creators to be running in fear, I can only think of one thing within this universe and that would have to be somethin simmilar to the xenomorph creature.

3:that mural in prometheous clearly had some sort of xenomorph looking creature on it. it seemed that the engineers ether worshiped or feared it before david ever supposedly created it. ( this would be way more pausible than my riduclus time travel theory)

4: if the engineers designed this genetic accelerant that would weaponize what ever creatures it came in contact with, and they dedicated a whole planet to its production, are they really just going to let it sit there without a use? if they ever used it on almost any organic life form, it would create at least something sortof resembling the xenomorh. remember that random worm species in prometheous? as soon as it came in contact with the black goo it developed the urge to latch onto peoples faces and it also got acid blod. sound familiar?

These are the reasons that i think that david was not actually the creator of the xenomorph but actually took one of the engineers creations and improved it. let me know your thoughts in the comments

2. By all accounts they are running from a Deacon, like the one behind the alter, I thought this was common knowledge at this stage!David just perfected the xenomorph from what the Engineers already had accomplished, it's been mentioned literally a thousand times on the site

SpaceJOC: for there to be a deacon on lv223 before prometheous,  would be nearly impossible. first a human would have to drink some black goo then procreate with another human within the time that he or she turns into a weird black goo zombie. then the trilobite would have to find a way to a nearby engineer and latch onto it. this seems like a completely unique event that would probably never happen before or after prometheous. this would be even more difficult to have a deacon be on lv223 before the humans ever arrived  because first of all, humans are the first 2 steps in its birth and the person would ether have to be to stupid or drunk to notice that they are drinking an unknown alien substance. that whole senario is impossible.

on a side note, if deacons supposedly were already there, the movie pased up a big oprotunitie ti show deacons in prometheous throughout to add actually horror to the otherwise completly sci fi movie. it would have actually told us a bit about the engineers to.

I love the way people on here go on as if they're Ridley Scott, it's actually hilarious

What was chasing the Engineers as well so? It made literally the exact same noise as the deacon and they have a mural of a 15ft deacon behind the alter? At the end of the day, no one knows so stop pretending that you do please

I will give you that it looks almost exactly like a deacon but the timelines and their lifecycle simply dosn't match up. perhaps it is something very similar to the deacon exept with the human dna in the deacon subsatuted with engineer dan. it would still technichly be a different species though.

also, we are not saying that we know anything. these are theories. not solid statements

I'm not saying I'm right but you can't discount anything! At this stage we can speculate anything ha, is it possible humans were there for experimental purposes on lv223 at some stage, unjust speculating! I just hope Ridley gives us the film we deserve in Awakening that might explain to us or leave the clues we deserve! They have to go back to lv223

Exactly, it's fun to speculate too ha, I suppose that's why it's called a theory, o wasn't trying to offend either or anything, I must be after watching Prometheus 10 times lately to try and see any more clues since Covenant!

I forgot you were only speculating and got a bit carried away ha, sorry about that Timmy, I don't think I've ever taken a film so seriously as Prometheus

thats actually a very good point about the experimental humans.

the question then is why the enineers would want to create bioweapons like the deacon when they could just drop the black goo on their enemys. unless maybe the deacons were created for science not war.

not debunking your theory. just sort of wondering about certain things. I might be wrong but it seems to me like the engineers are willing to sacrafice there own people for science assuming that the opening scene in prometheous was indeed a sacrifice.

I agree, I'm just speculating because I love the show and hope we get an explanation which blows us all away! I keep wondering myself why the deacon was created when the goo does the same job really for them! I like the theory that they saw it as some sort of twisted childbirth after they were ousted by the Elders or tossed from Paradise and the lv223 Engineers were hell bent on revenge of sorts

here is a youtube video that i found researching the topic. it was made begore alien covenant though so it isn't exactly the newest theory. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHDEtVXRq6Y

"the question then is why the enineers would want to create bioweapons like the deacon when they could just drop the black goo on their enemys. unless maybe the deacons were created for science not war."

I thought this was an interesting question & I likened it to this:

Some people, or (The Elders/Sacrificial Engineers) are gardeners & have always loved the flower of the poppy plant.

Some other person, or (The LV223 Engineers), experimented with the poppy plant & discovered that by slitting the bulb, the plant tries to heal itself by oozing a black liquid, that, if processed in a certain way, is very dangerous to humans!

Just thinking out loud again!

Deacon
Mural creature (Ultramoprh)
Neomorph
Xenomorph
....and any other *-Morphs which we haven't seen.

^^ Out of all these, David just created 'Xenomorph'

The true ancestor is possibly the Ultramoprh (Mural creature) and the Black goo is imbibed with it's DNA. The black goo mutates any organism such that it will eventually lead to the reproduction of a *-Morph. Every *-Morph will be different than each other based on the host's DNA and the route of impregnation.

The Black goo didn't mutate any plants/trees. It mutated spore-producing fungi. Fungus is non-botanical.

David created a route....by mutating insects and cross-breeding it (and probably also using Shaw's ovums) and creating Facehugger eggs.
