Alien Resurrection script recital/competition! UPDATE! 06 NOV 2017
dk
MemberTrilobiteAug-23-2017 5:55 PMHello Scified! It is time for our second script recital. We did Alien last spring and now we will recite Alien Resurrection. There is a prizey prize for the member who delivers the last spoken line of the movie. Mods, Staff and Admin are also members. (The winner will need to PM me with shipping information).
The rules are pretty simple. You can post a line but have to wait to post another until someone else posts the next line. A caveat is if a line is only one to four words long- in that case, you may deliver two lines.
The winner will be the member whom delivers the final line of the script. Posting that line out of sequence of the script is not a win. The intent is to conduct the entire script top to bottom.
I encourage maximum participation. If I see no activity for approximately 24 hours, I will bump the thread with some random silly stuff. Some off script jocularity is allowed but we should not get too off topic. This competition will be several pages long by the time it is done.
To keep us on the same sheet of music, we will use the script provided by Black Winter Witch and AVP Galaxy.
I will give the first line to get it started and show the proper way to post.

I reserve the right to adjust if things are moving too slowly. ENJOY!
FOR NEWER MEMBERS!!! Here is a link to the last recital in case you are unfamiliar with the general flow:

MemberChestbursterSep-10-2017 7:40 PMGediman replies with all intentions to lessen the bloated pride of his colleague, "Well... the guy does smell..."
(Ripley's blood drops than sizzle on the floor -- not eating through, but melting a small patch.)

MemberChestbursterSep-10-2017 7:51 PM(We then get scenes of all the "Betty" crew members and how they are spending their night. Some are enjoying some quality alone time and some with each other. Perez could be found in his quarters completely oblivious to what the "Betty" crew is up to. All is quite like the night in farthest reaches of the human planetary system. Nothing is out of place for Vriess, Hillard and Elgyn are their normal selves, alone of course, and Christie, Call, and Johner are playing pool in the mess hall. The "Betty" crew now has money in their pockets and a few days to figure out how they're going to spend it and live life after they leave the Auriga. That's more than enough time. Nobody is worried tonight.)

MemberTrilobiteSep-10-2017 9:38 PM(Gideman stands outside a chamber with 3 aliens. One approaches the glass, draws back its lips, opens its mouth and the slimy tongue issues forth slowly at Gideman.)
Gideman- Is that a distended externus lingua...or are you just happy to see me?

MemberChestbursterSep-11-2017 7:05 PM(Gediman presses his face against the glass with his mind fully captured by the aliens biology in addition to it's capabilities. The alien than shoots its tongue at Gediman and strikes the glass hard. Gediman than retaliates by pressing a red button for shooting jets of liquid nitrogen at the alien. The alien starts thinking about attacking, but Gediman hovers his hand over the red button. The alien withdraws.)
Gediman than replies with superiority, "Fast learner, huh?"
(Strangely, something is moving behind Gediman that he doesn't notice until its hand is on his shoulder. Gediman is terrified and a feels a little insecure because of his unprofessional "intimacy" with the alien. After Gediman's mind quickly flashes with his worries and fears, he quickly turns his head around to see what was out of his field of sight.
Once Gediman sees who it is, he is still remains terrified, but now confused in addition to his insecurities. It's Ripley.)
"How did you get in here?" Gediman manages to speak.

MemberChestbursterSep-11-2017 7:36 PMGediman replies, "Yes. Yes they are." (Gediman is still on edge.) I've been monitoring their interaction." (He points to a screen showing what he has been doing with the hopes that Ripley didn't see his unprofessionalism, or his fear for that matter.)

MemberPraetorianSep-12-2017 7:14 AM(He points at a audiograph by the wall, blips and waves interrupting the vibrating line, indicating sound.
He notices that her hand is still on her shoulder.)
Gediman adds, “They communicate. Through ultrasonic soundwaves. Sort of like bats.”

MemberChestbursterSep-12-2017 5:04 PM(Gediman's mind than makes a couple connections between what he knows of Ripley and what he thinks. Gediman smiles.)
Amazing...
(Gediman's mind is racing on experiments he could do.)
(Ripley than runs her hand through the back of Gediman's hair, gently urging him up off his chair)
(Gediman's fear is starting to come back...)
Gediman mumbles, "Ripley..."
Ripley replies, "Shhhhhh....."
She pulls him close and kisses him. Gediman kisses back. Then, as they draw apart, Ripley makes a smile.)
(Gediman is aroused and confused, until....)
(An alien tongue SHOOTS out of her mouth, burying itself in Gediman's face.)

MemberChestbursterSep-13-2017 1:56 PM*Smash cut to Ripley's Chamber:
As she suddenly awakes, eyes wide, breathing hard.
She has been sleeping in the same position she was before: Squatting in the middle of the room. She still weara her collar and cuffs, but in her cell the cables have been removed from them. She looks about her room, recovering from the nightmare. With a somewhat fatlistic look, she settles back to sleep.
*In the Mess Hall:
Christie, Call, and Johner are still at their all night pool marathon. Crhistie makes a couple of impressive bank shots. Johner grumbles, throws some money on the table as the last ball clicks in the pocket. Call takes a big swig -- not her first -- from Johner's thermos, makes a face. She tries to stand up, takes a spill over her chair. Others laugh.
Call - Jesus, Johner, what do you put in that shit, battery acid?

MemberChestbursterSep-13-2017 7:09 PM(As soon as Call can't be seen by the boys, she takes a deep breathe and gets focus. All home brew stupor is shaken off in an instant, like she never had a drink.)
(Call wonders down the corridor till she comes to the restricted area door she was looking for. She pulls out some high tech glove to get past the fingerprint scanner. It takes a minute, but it works. The door opens and Call steps in...)
(She's looking for the right cell door and when she finds it, she enters. It's the one Ripley is in. She kneels down next to the sleeping Ripley and draws a blade to force it through Ripley's chest. Yet, right where the blade would go is a scar. Call hesitates, staring, realization flooding her face.)
Ripley's eyes awaken like she knew this girl was there the whole time, "Well?"
Ripley paused to allow her to answer, but instead is obligated to speak again, "You gonna kill me or what?"

MemberChestbursterSep-13-2017 8:11 PMCall than speaks what she now knows, "It's already out of you." Christ..." Now there is an urgency is Call's voice, "Is it here? Is it on board?" She's frantically looking for anything that can lead her to the stopping of the madness.

MemberChestbursterSep-14-2017 8:49 AMCall - I don't understand. If they've got it, why are they keeping you alive?

MemberChestbursterSep-14-2017 8:34 PMCall replies with her voice full of sickness, "Those sick bastards." (She has no doubt that Ripley is speaking the truth. Call's perspective on humans and what they are capable of just sunk as deep as the shaft of the cell Ripley is in.)
She then continues after a guard passes far overhead with sincerity to the person she was so ready to kill in her sleep, "I can make it stop." Call continues to plead, "The pain... this nightmare. That's all I can offer you." (She's so ready to take the consequences for what these humans, yet not so humane humans, have done.)

MemberPraetorianSep-14-2017 11:50 PMRipley holds her palm up, presses its against the blade tip in Call's hand.
RIPLEY - What make you think I would let you do that?
She pushes against the blade, it goes right through her palm and out the other side. The blood smeared blade smokes as the acidic blood in Ripley reacts with the metal. Call stares at her.

MemberChestbursterSep-15-2017 7:38 PMThings aren't just making sense and the future looks bleaker than it did before with that alien being out of Ripley's chest and now Ripley, the Ellen Ripley who is back from the dead, is stabbing herself without even a flinch and that blade is smoking!
Call replies with shock in her face and can't hide her complete interest, "What are you?" This is something Call has never seen before or even heard of for that matter. The more Call knows now, the better she can serve to protect.

MemberChestbursterSep-15-2017 9:08 PMCall replies with caution and concern in her voice, like she's afraid to hurt this... person... she sees, "Ellen Ripley died two hundred years ago." Call's eyes quickly study this... Ripleys' face to try and understand her emotions before Ripley has a chance to speak, or lie for that matter. Ripley's face remains calm and confident with her answer, but than, as reality sets after a few breathes, Riple's vision disappears and her memories recollect in her mind as she unfocuses and thinks. She's confused now. Something doesn't make sense.

MemberPraetorianSep-18-2017 1:58 AMCALL - I've read Morse (referring to Morse from Alien 3's contraband novel "Space Beast") - I've read all the banned histories. She gave her life to protect us from the beast. You're not her.
