I have no problem with the A.I. direction.

Xeno's are cooked and not really 'evil'...just scary bugs. Jump scare monsters.

Don't really want the stumbling bumbling Weyland corp sending Space truckers or small families to secure the 'Perfect organism!' as a driving plot..that's been done........(You'd think a trillion dollar company can secure and find their own perfect organism/xeno...not rely on luck)

I would rather see a poop monster try to infect people turning them into poop monsters to erase humanity rather than seeing a whole Alien connected movie only about AI. He is really trying to sink the whole franchise with the AI crap.

Someone should tell him to handle the visuals and stop interfering with the story. Understand that there are people (other then me yes) that don't like the focus of David at least try to balance it and not make it into a AI crap show.

MonsterZero i respectfully disagree about the beast being cooked. The classic "drone" might be a bit overdone, but the introduction of the Deacon and Neomorphs add a whole new dimension and layer to the Morph dynamics.

It just needs some imagination and a little understanding of ecosystem trophic cascades to open a whole new level of horror and threat from the beast :) 

RS didn't do the beast any favours with that lacklustre climax on the Covenant though

I despise the route that the franchise is taking now.

I would rather see a parody of Terminator rather than a new movie that is trying to be serious that is focusing on David. There are some years left until the next movie is out and I am already worried that it will make AVP look good, yes seriously.

IRaptus    Oh I agree...There's plenty of gas left in the Xenomorph tank.....But with only one more movie left...I'm afraid there is very little they(RS, Logan)can do. It'll be the same old snarling beast. :-(

I myself would take the action underground.

Advanced civilizations build underground(tombs/cities) away from prying eyes and asteroid strikes. Tombs of the Engineers.

Having the freedom to run from a monster in a open field is no fun! Dark dead end caves are better. No escape. Always liked Aliens when the Xenomorphs entered the room above them! have the Xenos come at you from all angles.

I seriously hope that they at Fox will understand how many that puke at the direction that the franchise has taken now so they will try to not keep the most ridiculous ideas in the movie. They should try to keep Scott from putting his most dumb ideas in the next movie so it won't end up being a complete turd.

Personally I can’t wait to see what Ridley has done with Blomkamp’s ideas. I think for storyline purposes Origae 6 will be a different viewpoint on LV426. Blomkamp certainly wanted to explore AI which can be seen in his concept work.

I think the overlap between Blomkamp’s approach for a new Alien movie, is what put Alien 5 on hold.

Alien Covenant shows David putting evolution into reverse. He lets the Neomorph and xenomorph share the palace when humans are present, and celebrates the birth of the xenomorph. Alien Awakening therefore is post-this state. Post-equality, and equality was post-inequality

I like this direction, it's different and fresh. We've done the human side for 4 films (6 including AvP) and it's nice to explore other sides of the mythos and open new avenues. The AI has always had a part in the saga and I'm glad they're in the limelight while the humans are the subplot now. Doesn't necessarily mean we won't get any human elements but this is David's show. Fox trusts Ridley to break new ground and so do I.

I'm fine with the focus on the AI. Androids have been a major plot point since the first movie.

If this is the case ill be glad to jump ship here. so Alien is now even further from alien, first they turned alien into space Frankenstein and now its terminator in space. why not just make a different franchise instead of tacking Alien on to his AI movie and deluding the alien films. its quite sad to see RS cannibalizing the Alien franchise...

i was hoping RS learned from his last 2 movies "Prometheus And AC" but i guess not hes just going to get worse.. i think ill stick to comics and fan work as thats where the real talent is. 

RS seems to have become lazy and lost his ability to form a story that holds any continuity. 

Excellent point pakistan. The history of the mutagen most definitely makes a great story of AI.
