Weird pterodactyl creature inside David's lab

H.R.Giger's original chestburster design. Cool that Ridley includes little easter eggs into canon.

Yep, Giger's first attempt at chestburster. He was inspired by Francis Bacon's Three Studies for Figures at the Base of a Crucifixion c.1944

The AC one's head looks like that of a pterodactyl, has elongated limbs and its chest resembles Engineer's pressure suit a bit.

Looking at that image you shared Ati, in the film it looks like its chest is wide opened but in these Instagram images, it looks intact. Weird.

For a moment it reminded me of a monkey thing from Prometheus fire and stone

Yes. It's possible that it is similar to an action figure, you can play with it, open the chest, etc. :) - as the images with the girls show it.

Its hard to tell if this is the same creature?

Maybe there are more than one similar creature?  The one in Davids lab does look more like the Chicken/Turkey Burster.....  but maybe its the Pterodactyl but at a angle that hides the head?

@BigDave Maybe there was actually more than 1. We haven't really had a good look at it in the actual film because of the camera angle and lightning so it's hard to say, and that one looks dissected.

After checking out Adam Savage's tour of David's lab, I'm pretty sure there's 2 of these creatures, one lying on the table dissected and the other one in a bowl.

That's when David stopped with cooking and started working on the perfect killing machine.

I hope they use some of Giger's ideas if we ever see more of the Engineer's society. For me Giger is Alien and the further you go from his designs and drawings the further it feels from Alien. There is just so much they can explore with this series if they just had more imagination. 

Ha ha ha! I can't stop laughing at the Gordon Ramsay picture. It is effing hysterical!

I can sort of imagine him with his voice yelling that.

David is like "Pff, what ever you say man."

Thinking about his next step in the destruction of humanity, and all that because of Gordon Ramsey. :D
