Alien: Romulus scoops and plot leaks? Yutani station housing Xenomorphs?
Chris
AdminEngineerMar-09-2024 9:44 PMThe same leakster who claimed to have seen a test screening of Alien: Romulus and divulged some interesting details earlier today took to X to leak some more details. This of course should be taken with a grain of salt until other sources can corroborate, but here is what V Scooper on X had to say:
‘ALIEN ROMULUS’ will show us up close a new planet with a gritty civilization
As well as the abandoned space station filled with face huggers and the perfect organism lurking around…
Lots of suspense, gore, as well as action with tech and guns await.
The Yutani space station contains several cryo-chambers of Xenomorphs. What purpose do they serve there?...
Many secrets and twists are about to be uncovered.
What do we think?

StaffNeomorphMar-10-2024 11:11 AM"Leaks" from months ago did say the film would start on a planet and then switch to a space station.
Just an hour ago, V Scooper added that the film has some surprises and a big premise in the franchise's lore. I wonder.
If these claims are true, I wonder what surprises the film has in store for us. The plot is giving me "Pandorum (2009)" and "Trench 11 (2017)" vibes.

AdminEngineerMar-10-2024 2:08 PMVery much so. I'm working on digging up more details, but it's true the links do connect somewhat to what we heard months ago.
From the sounds of it, the young group of scavengers are poverty stricken and planning to pillage a decommissioned Weyland-Yutani station that they caught wind of. So they embark on a mission hoping to strike it rich only to accidentally unleash the cargo that lay dormant.
Given that this film takes place between Alien and Aliens, I wonder if the station is pre-Hadley's Hope but ends up being the reason for the settlement on LV-426. Weyland-Yutani were already aware of the Derelict, sent the Nostromo in to investigate first, Alien happens, they set up an observation station nearby and set up a research outpost - under the guise of a Terraforming settlement on the planet.
Hmmmm the hamster wheel is turning again haha.

StaffNeomorphMar-10-2024 2:46 PMThe question is, does the film take place before or after the events of Alien: Isolation?
In Alien isolation, it was revealed that years after the events of Alien, the crew of Anesidora picked up the beacon, landed on LV-426 to investigate, found the derelict, and shut off the beacon to prevent anyone from finding the ship. The derelict remained untouched for some time until the events of Aliens when Ripley told the WY about it and Burke informed the colonists which led to the downfall.
I’ve seen some people already theorizing based on these “leaks” that the company might have gotten the Ovomorph eggs from either Covenant or Planet 4, if not from Derelict or anywhere else.

AdminEngineerMar-10-2024 3:21 PMI think Romulus will avoid much of what was established in Prometheus and Covenant. I more so believe it'll be connected to Alien: Isolation, so I suspect there will be links to that. However, I have a big suspicion that WY knew about the Xenomorph and the Derelict well before we think they did and the events of Alien, Isolation and Aliens are all connected and orchestrated with purpose behind the scenes by the corporation. Something much more sinister is at play, I bet.

MemberPraetorianMar-11-2024 7:47 AMI'm getting System Shock vibes seeing it may take place on a saucer-shaped Space Station

AdminEngineerMar-11-2024 7:50 AMThe images are not from the trailer or movie as far as I'm aware, I suspect those are just placeholders / fan art.
