I am still trying to get the mere mention of the toxicity of this idea out of mind at how bad this would be!!! 

Dear Alien fans over the years we have discussed much. We have shared in many wonderful theories, some good some not so good; but, this my friends this!!!! THIS IS NOT HOW THE ALIEN FRANCHISE should expand it's most brilliant origination with respect to all the incredible people that worked so hard to give us this incredible art! You could say you might be just flushing is all down the toilet.

This is not an official break up Alien fans but we are close and with that I go back to the bucket.

It is such a sad story...but in the post above this one that is Jonesy.....Ripley's cat....yes even Jonesy after hearing this tragic news could not take it and is now self medicating...

An even better option would be to make the whole series a hypersleep dream of someone on the Nostromo, wiping everything clean.

How would you feel if this IDEA of Hill/Giler throws us a CURVE-BALL.

That it was ALL a Dream?

Or what if ALIEN V is set after Ripley is Rescued from the Narcissus and therefor ONLY the First Movie was NOT a Dream?

Certainly i remember them ;)  I think with Comics you do get Stories and Ideas that seem FUN and offer some Alternative Entertainment and thats the GREAT thing about Comics.

I just think with more Serious Stories that are aimed at the more Over 15 Year Olds is something that in Comic Form we would see LESS of from Marvel as opposed to Dark Horse.

Comics can give us some Strange Cross Overs to give us a bit of Fun to Read.... but i dont think that say making a Robocop vs Terminator Movie would be a GOOD IDEA for Example.

So i have NO Problem with Cross-Overs in Comic Form or more PG-13 related Popcorn style Comics set in the Alien or Predator Universe.  But God Forbid if we had a Avengers vs Aliens Movie ;)

I think Time will Tell with the Comics if we get some more Serious Ones...  I have not yet got around to reading.

But certainly Stories like that one i find Interesting, and indeed i think its interesting you bring up the Point about Prometheus i think their is Potential to Explore more about the Engineers in Comic and Novels.

Hopefully IF we get to see them more then maybe some of the Explorations are NOT similar (all the time) to say how they was in Fire and Stone (i have YET to read the other Comic Book adaption of them yet though).

A bold statement! How many Dark Horse comics about Alien have you read? Some comics like F&S/L&D, Destroying Angels, Defiance, Aliens Book One/Two/Three are solid, but >2/3 are at best generic things.

But you must remember about Superman and Batman vs Aliens and Predator, Dredd vs Predator, Green Lantern Versus Aliens. Yes, now it's Marvel. But as if this had not happened before? Endless crossovers with DC!

A rhetorical question - should we keep things in their places for the sake of potential, if they work through time? Or try to find a new way? Isn't that the main wisdom from Ridley? Search for new ways.

Probably not right away. First they check the market with the help of the classics. But after - more than likely.

I think that it would be useful for many to find out that the only reason for the lack of Prometheus / AC content was FOX. They did not know where the prequels would go and what stories (to avoid contradictions) to write. Plus legal rights - did you know that Alien and Prometheus are two different brands?

Alex White said in one interview about The Cold Forge, something like: the pathogen inside facehuggers is the same Black Goo from Prometheus/Covenant. But he could not use it in the plot of the novel, because he (and probably Titan publishers too) did not have a license for Prometheus.

Of course, in this forum you can find conspiracy theory fans who sincerely believe that comics/books/games based on Prometheus are not created just because writers don’t like Prometheus. xDDDDDDD

Well that Question has Changed somewhat with Alien Covenant.

A BIG QUESTION for Alien : Resurrection was WHY would they result to Cloning Ripley to get a Xenomorph?

You would have to ASSUME that there was NO-WHERE that the USM had knowledge of where you could OBTAIN any Xenomorphs or Related.

The Technology/Knowledge that allowed USM to obtain a Xenomorph from Ripley's DNA would surely mean they could Experiment with the Failed Ripley 7 Queen and maybe OBTAIN a more Pure Specimen?

Regardless of the Revelation about the Origins of the Xenomorph and the Derelict Cargo...  WE cant 100% assume the Derelict was the ONLY ship that had Eggs loaded into its Cargo Hold.

So there are Avenues to Obtain the Xenomorph....

Then as far as A.I goes then with David he is a THREAT... with the Engineers Secrets and Technology he becomes more of a THREAT

Once you Create a Superior A.I that becomes Sentient then ONCE that Genie is out the BOX your in Trouble.

Looking at what you mention about the Engineers Quantum Computing.... then INDEED... should David and other Synthetics have Access and Control over such things... then Mankind is well Screwed!  

With such POWER then David/Synthetics could INDEED look to seek out the Engineers for Domination and more Power.

so YES there is Potential to Expand the Franchise... but i think some of the BOLD ideas may be too Bold for what many would want from a ALIEN Franchise.

With Prometheus it opened up the Franchise.. took it out of the BOX.... but with AC it seems they placed it back into the BOX somewhat again.

With Respect i can see your a NEW Member and so you have likely NOT came across a lot of what i have discussed over the years ;)

I have been a Strong Advocate for the SCOPE the Engineers Plot can and should Explore.  This PLOT does-not have to be Confined to the BOX that is the Zeta 2 System.   

*The Engineers indeed had Charts/Maps to other Galaxies and so its unlikely they just had them for No Reason.

*The Creators Plot in addition to above means we can ONLY imagine the Number of Worlds that have been Visited, Seeded and Manipulated by these beings.

*For a Race that have established Interstellar Travel many Millions of Years ago, then YES we cant even Fathom the Technology and Power these beings Posses.

*Indeed the earlier Concept/Idea had more about the Power these Engineers had gained, how they started to Perceive things beyond what our Senses could Sense. Plus a Agenda to Transcend to something ELSE!

*Our Engineers were also 15ft which when compared to Humans would appear to be Giants.

So with Prometheus then things got TONED down somewhat as FAR as what we saw as HOW powerful our would be GODS are... but THAT does not mean we could NOT explore places where we would FIND the Hierarchy/Elders who Posses Powers Beyond our Comprehension. 

So the Prequels have NOT really tapped into the Potential of those who are at the TOP of the Ladder so to Speak, and also would SUCH beings have to be Located on our Door Step?

Only for Plot Convenience.

There is still the Possibility to show us other Engineer Worlds that are FAR different to Planet 4, to introduce us to Engineers/Elders that are indeed 15-20ft Tall.

Where are these Engineers?  In a Galaxy FAR FAR away?

If this is the Case then in the GRAND Scheme of it all, Earth is but ONE Tiny Dot.... the LV-223 Facility and Outbreak just maybe ONE of many many such Places....  for such a Species they could decide to just Abandon LV-223 and let us to ROT and eventually Destroy Ourselves!

The Engineers are likely Arrogant and Ignorant... so Caught Up in their Achievements that they would THINK that without their HELP then Mankind abandoned Thousands of Years ago would NEVER be able to Reach the Stars!

They would TOTALLY NOT expect us never mind a Synthetic we have Created to be Turning Up at their Worlds...  If they was EVER concerned about the Potential Threat that we could Possess..... then after the EVENTS on Planet 4... then ONCE they discover what has HAPPENED they would soon have to START to have GRAVE Concerns for many of their Creations.. and would Certainly WANT to DESTROY Mankind.

Absolutely not all Kids are into Movies made for Kids, when i was a Kid i enjoyed a Fair Share of Horror and Dark Sci-Fi that was given a Cert 18 UK Certificate... but another point is WHAT would Scare kids or seem to be Inappropriate in the 70's and 80's does not effect kids of nowadays as it would back then.

The point i was making is that Disney would likely want to stick to Movies that are more Similar to Aliens and AVP as far as to feature multiple Xenomorphs and Action, and also i think Disney would TONE the Gore etc Down to PUSH a PG-13 so that means MORE can see the Movie at the Box Office.

There Certainly is a Horrific Story to be Told between when the Jordons Encountered the Xenomorph to the point that Newt was the ONLY Survivor... i just doubt we would ever get this Story shown on the Big Screen.

I think its a Story that would make a GREAT Survival Horror Game.

Maybe they are now aware of the power of humans and how far they have come......you ever considered that...they are not sure what information David transmitted back to Weyland Industries about how the black goo really works in context to applying it to really super powerful AI.....the entire thing about Alien BigDave has been this struggle between what is biological and what is machine....computers vs what we can think in our own minds....OBVIOUSLY the Elder 20 foot tall engineers have very powerful computers....however, they cannot violate causality!

OK! so no more nonsense....when things happen they happen for a reason...there is no such thing as causality loops that trap entire universes forever into the same construct over and over...that is nonsense...its always changing at the quantum level for eternity, which by the way is a very big place....you know how big eternity is?

No you dont so you have no idea how powerful an Elder machine is that is at least one million years more advanced or MORE!!!!!!!.....we are stealing fire from the GODS! we are bringing back Peter Weyland.....because the physics does allow for that.......it adds a lot more that we can work with and gets us out of the stupidy of alien 3 and 4....and onto real things that matter...you like things that matter right.....or you want to watch dumb and dumber play out with some contrite scenes with some soap opera takes on David's story line....what a putrid waste that would be. Time is of the essence BigDave make the most of it while you can.

David pulled a fast one with that Juggernaut that is it end of story...you think he Killed every Engineer on every single planet they inhabit....these things exist all over the Galaxy and other galaxies MAN!

As far as being kid friendly I took my kids to see Prometheus when it came out. They loved every second of it. Disney kids they hardly are.

Indeed LETO we have some Continuations to that Story (Amanda Ripley) that are being told in Comics, i think its Interesting to give her a Story, one that should STAY within the Confines of Comics and Games.

A Interesting thing after i saw ALIENS quite a number of Times is i kinda NEVER brought the Story that Burke had fed Ripley about her Daughter.... i felt something could be FISHY!

And so with the Isolation Series then indeed it could be made to TIE-IN that Amanda's Life and Death are NOT what the Company have informed her about....

I will add that i think with Dark Horse at least their was the Potential for some Dark Sci-Fi within the Franchise with a more Serious Tone... not too Often though!

But with Marvel Comics.... even if we get Stand Alone Comics for ALIEN and PREDATOR i think they will be very PG-Popcorn Related.

I have quite a Number of Times brought up a FEW ideas to HOW you could do that and GET OVER... a Excessive use of CGI to De-Age our Ripley 8

I had a idea for where that got taken to as a Parallel Movie to Alien Resurrection (Happens around the same Time-Period)

More likely that Disney would give us near Carbon Copy of something similar to Aliens and AVP.... but maybe they would EXPLORE whats Beyond the Xenomorph and then Change the Engineers but it would be something maybe more like Marvels Thanos.

At least we will FINALLY see the ULTRA ULTRAMORPH!

Well its interesting to Speculate and indeed the Alien 01 The Master Narrative was indicating HOW FAR the Engineers seemed to have come compared to say what we saw in Prometheus and also that they FELT they was on the Verge of a Great Break-though to Transcend past a Physical Body and Existence.

And so YES we could apply such a Plot in Future.

With the Scale i was merely pointing out that our Space Jockey CHAIR would accommodate a 12-15ft being.

Indeed the Intention was 27ft Tall, but in Reality the First Shot would have appeared to be about 21ft... close up 13-15ft.

I know your talking about CHANGE and that you can Expand the Franchise with NEW things and so YES.. you could introduce another RACE that are above the Engineers who are indeed 20ft Tall.  A Species who DONT even have to be Humanoid and Possess so much POWER they would appear as GODLIKE.

Regarding the Engineers in Context to "taking on a presence in higher dimensions as god like beings" then YES i think you could still go for this PLOT but then you have to Wonder to WHAT is the Relation to the Planet 4 Engineers and HOW did such a Godlike Race go and $£%$^ things up for themselves.

Seriously though BigDave you believe the new film is predicated on some soap opera affairs that have in-depth shots of a few new clever scenes with David's arch and the rest of that nonsense.....wrap it all up in a neat bow and move on to bigger an better things....reread what I wrote....that is the next film! because it is infinitely possible for anything.....it allows for the introduction of literally anything....and gives these new never before seen 20 foot tall ruling Aliens over the Engineers something they have to make sure they fight to the very end to stop.

About that bridge idea....for the love of God why is everyone persisting with crazy ideas, Why??????????? 

This franchise is in a complicated mess.....do the wrong film and it is gone for good.

Why? why take any sucky idea and just say ahhhh let's go with that film....see this little guy he wants to see the that story too.

I mean at least try and think of some better ideas....case in point. We all know there is much stronger film to be made. A film that brings money into this franchise for a long time and it is not about LV-426 and the alien family story....we know it is not that film....but what film could it be....that is the real question.

the alien and predator franchise is now dead to me
