I have to echo buick in saying that it was a STELLAR fan fiction piece. To be honest I would be thrilled with anything related to the crew mutating, ship coming alive, so forth... I hope we see something along those lines. Knowing Ridley we will definitely get something awesome. We also have to give thanks that the crew has done such a great job at NOT spoiling everything! I can't wait until July!

Hey, nice to see you, Robotpo!
I actually bookmarked that IMDB page a few weeks ago to throw at people who kept bringing it up on different message boards as being real, and all of the reposts were leaving off the (rather important) introduction that includes the "I MADE THIS UP".
Someone even said that it seemed even more real after seeing the trailer because certain facts meshed up.. I pointed out what you just said, that you were basing your ideas off of actual footage that you'd seen.
You had some interesting ideas in there, but I hope you're wrong about time travel.. I know Damon Lindelof is involved, but I really hope they don't go that route! Still pretty cool, I haven't had the time to sit down and write anything up regarding the film, although I do have some ideas of my own.
But yeah.. this guy's the real deal, he made up that "synopsis" long before it started making the rounds as a "leaked script" or whatever.
ReplyRobotpoPrometheus Forumanyone else read that leaked plot summaryJan 9, 2012
Hey Jockey2016, and thanks for the back-up/confirmation! :) It's amazing that this thing is STILL floating around, but, what can one do? Thanks for the thoughts on the outline...I'm sure the final film will be significantly different (and probably won't include time travel)! ;)
And by all means, I'd be interested in reading other's views on what will transpire in the film as well. Perhaps you could post either here or IMDB if you find time to write-up your version!

Robotpo,
When your story went all viral, I remembered reading it before…and tried to convince my Alien fan friends that it was fan fiction. BUT, most were so horny for PROMETHEUS action, that they just blew me off…satisfied in their invincible ignorance. Having said that, I thought you twisted a pretty cool yarn…even though I am a bit repulsed by the whole…God doesn’t exist, and aliens created Mankind concept…born of the Ridley Scott statements. I thought you’re work was pretty imaginative…and famous…though uncredited. Well done!

well, i gotta say....
for being a "fake", it's a GENUINELY intriguing read. in fact, i've been going by
that plot ever since i saw the stills / teasers, and now the official trailer. in my mind - -
they match
i was a bit turned off at the interjection of time travel,
at the same time, it was put in there in a clever way, so i was able to deal with it
the plot you concocted in fact so good / convincing to me,
that i will be going by that one until i see the film for myself, and then possibly proven
wrong by the actual film itself. so for me, it's a win / win situation. if that makes any sense
well done there Robotpo, well done

Listen, I'm just relieved that it's now looking unlikely that Noomi Rapace will be seen to be the 'Spacejockey', as that was my initial fear when I first heard of Ridley Scott's 'spacesuit' concept! I really didn't want her to end up as the supposed originator of the 'warning beacon' in a giant protective 'suit'...
So at least the bald, muscular figure seen in the trailer is a big step up from that worry, as far as I'm concerned, lol! That's *if* he even turns out to be an actual true 'Spacejockey' that is. I still hold out hope that the fossilized 'skull' seen in the original is actually the remains of an otherwordly skull from something yet unseen, and NOT a 'helmet'...even if the rest of him is supposedly a type of 'suit'.
ReplyGame Over Man!Prometheus Forumi really don't want the space jockeys to just be giant humansJan 9, 2012
I do not want it to be an oversized human either. I did see a side by side pic where it showed a zoomed in pic of the giant humanoid being and compared it to the giant Human head shrine. They are strikingly very similar.

If RS had ended the movie with the alien making the log entry I would have been on the floor laughing my arse off. I like unexpected twist in a thriller, but some twists seem to soften or cancel out the suspense built up in a movie.
ReplyJGUNNPrometheus Forum Alien reproductive cycle,.....contrast of the human, Alien, and space jockey cuJan 9, 2012
I found a disturbing gradification watching the directors cut.. that life cycle was a gut tugging nasty addition that gave the horror another edge. Who would ever thought death by alien bite to be the "better" way to go. Instant death is much more apealing then the slow decay and digestion of an exterior wall/stomach... im assuming that is something beyond painful... im a grown ass man that had a nightmare or two due to that little scene.
I myself am glad I watched it in 2003 versus my first introduction to "Alien" at age 13... I think my parents would have had a tough time keeping me asleep if I watched the "directors cut" at that young age..
I love you Sir Ridley... in the most Professional sense of the word... lol

Melkor hit it. I've heard through the grapevine that this is NOT the same ship we saw in Alien. And not the same planet.
And I also think that the derelict we saw in Alien had been there for a very, very long time. It could be a much older design. Which also explains the difference in the design of the Jockey's helmet, although the rest of the suit appears to be more or less the same.
Remember, we don't even know anything about this ship. What's its purpose? Why is it shaped like that? If these are two different ships, why are so many design elements the same? Is there a function to those shapes, and that's why all the ships apparently have them?
Think about it.. we don't even know for sure which end is the front! I'm not even convinced that Giger himself bothered to figure out how the thing few, or how it crashed there.. he just made the painting, and that became the model.
ReplyCervantesAlien Movies Forum'Continuity Errors' in PROMETHEUS Designs?Jan 9, 2012
I really hope your 'grapevine' is correct Jockey2016...as this will account for the various 'ship', 'Spacejockey', 'Spacejockey's seat', and 'planet terrain' differences described here and elsewhere, with no design 'continuity errors' after all.
As far as how the 'ship' in the movie will fly...I always liked the idea of it SLOWLY turning round and around (almost 'boomerang'-like) as it travelled forward at whatever speed it moved through space at. I also liked the idea that it might be able to 'hover' and 'rise and fall' like a 'Harrier Jumpjet' too, when it came to landing or taking off, before accelerating...so I'm looking forward to seeing how they really end up portraying it's motion onscreen. And I thought the way the 'ship' was 'parked upright' in the trailer looked awesome. I'd never though of that possibility.

The plot thickens and the twists, they keep coming...
Ripley 8’s attention is snapped back to immediate matters when the door to the cells suddenly opens. She quickly hides her hand in her longcoat pocket. As two synthetic soldiers wheel in Vriess’ wheelchair, Ripley 8 half smiles to herself, wondering whether Vriess is truly, permanently healed, or not. Looking at the wheel chair as the synthetic soldiers wheel it into place Ripley 8 smiles again, thinking of the powerless computer panel. The computer panel, laid on the bed in plain site. Standing up Ripley 8 distracts the synthetic soldiers as she escorts them to the door, “Do you have a pair of gloves I could borrow?”
Sometime later, the corridors of the station are quiet, very quiet. Down one of the corridors a shuffling sound can be heard, which grabs the attention of one of the synthetic soldiers guarding the groups cell. The synthetic soldier looks at its partner before raising its weapon into the ready position and stepping silently towards the noise. The shuffling gets gradually louder and louder, becoming the fast flurry of footsteps. The synthetic soldier, flicks off the safety switch on his weapon and steps around the corner at a wide apex.
Vriess comes belting down the corridor at full speed, barely missing the synthetic soldier and uses the wall to stop himself. He is clearly out of breath but the smile on his face reaches from ear to ear. Vriess, ecstatic at his new found freedom stretches his legs and jumps up and down on the spot as Call and Johner casually walk down the corridor to meet him, both laughing at their friend.
Johner turns to Call, “You know, I think I preferred him wheels.”
Call, rolling her eyes, “Leave him alone Johner,” looking at Vriess warmly, “I’ve never seen him so happy.”
Johner, rubbing his shaved head, “Still, he carries on with this running and I’ll break his legs.”
Call shakes her head. Despite their predicament it amazes her that Johner, as usual, seems his usual, crass self. Call looks at the synthetic soldier as it opens the door to their cell, behind them their escort waits, guns lowered. Call sighs, pondering why the Major said they were all guests, when they are obviously prisoners.
Entering into the cell behind Vriess and Johner, the door closed her, Call laughs as Vriess jumps up onto the top of one of the bunk beds gleefully stating, “I call top bunk.”
Johner sitting on the bunk below looks at the wheelchair, “Hey roadrunner, want your wheels back?” Vriess ignores him.
Call too looks at the wheelchair and notices a panel at the back is open. Leaning over slightly she realises the battery has been removed. Looking over to the other bunk bed Call sees Ripley 8 transfixed on the old computer panel, flicking switches and pressing buttons furiously, her hands covered in shiny leather gloves. Gently sitting next to Ripley 8, Call looks over her shoulder, but Ripley 8 tilts the screen away from Call’s view. Curious, Call enquires, “Do you need a hand Ripley?”
“No help. Not help.” Ripley 8 snaps, then mutters, “Not help. No. Not help.”
Call, confused, “Okay, if you’re sure?”
“Warning. Stay away.” Again, Ripley 8 snaps and then mutters rapidly, “Bad news. Not help. Need Help. Need to stay away. Wrong. So wrong. I was so wrong. No. It was so wrong.” She turns to call, tears in her eyes, “I’m so sorry.” Jolting Call, she snaps, “Stay away.” She returns to furiously tapping buttons and flicking switches.
Call, clearly concerned turns to Johner and Vriess, the smiles wiped from their faces and replaced with frowns. Johner stands up and slowly walks towards Ripley 8, cautious not to startle her, “Ripley, you okay?”
Snapping upright Ripley pins Johner to the wall, grabbing him by the neck with her free hand. She cocks her head to the left and then slowly cocks it to the right, and then slowly raises her head. Her face less than an inch from Johners, Ripley 8 slowly and seductively opens her mouth, leaving it agape momentarily. Suddenly she darts her tongue at Johner’s cheek and licks him. The sides of her tongue slightly ridged. Confused and fearful, instead of aroused Johner looks at her wide eyed, unable to speak.
Ripley 8, releasing her grip, “You want to help me,” before Johner can reply she snaps “leave me alone!”
Johner edgily retreats back to his bunk as Ripley 8 returns to her furious endeavours with the old computer panel, her repeated, nonsensical mutterings creating an unsettled atmosphere in the cell.
In the observation room, as the Doctor compares notes and findings the Major stares at the Queen Alien, whom seems to be returning his gaze. Curious, the Major steps forward to the railing of the platform. The Queen whispers a cautionary hiss. The Major unphased lifts his cigar to his mouth and inhales, “After nearly 500 years we finally get what we set out to achieve, and we get no gratitude.”
The Doctor, still engrossed in his work, “I don’t think she likes you very much?”
“She doesn’t have to. She’s already given us the key to controlling her kind.” The Major replies callously, before asking “Are we ready for phase 3?”
“Synthetic replication of her pheromones should be complete within…” The Doctor checks one of his displays, “…26 hours. Then once we’ve tested its effectiveness…”
The Major concludes the sentence, “…We can then command them to do as we wish.” He looks again at the Queen, a grin forming on his face “Perfect. Absolutely perfect.”

The plot indeed thickens...
@ Spartacus - If you happen to be a technically adept 'fan-editor'...then I would certainly be interested in considering your offer of help.
However, there's a few things that I really require of any potential collaborator on my proposal, that need to be considered first -
1. Ideally, I'm really looking for someone who is capable of doing a BLU-RAY version of my proposed version. However, I'm certainly interested in just doing a good quality DVD cut if need be...but I need someone who can do a PAL format version. There are different 'timings' between the NTSC and PAL DVD formats...and since I'm from the U.K., I need to be able to relay the exact PAL timings of the 'cut-list' I have in mind, otherwise things may get too complicated and confusing for us both when it comes to e-mailing the details.
2. Although my solution involves reasonably straightforward cuts using existing footage, they will need to done using a mixture of 3 different individual BLU-RAY sources (or 3 different PAL DVD sources, if need be. Yes, 3 of them)...and although I don't need any fancy 'menu's made for this, I'm looking for someone who's capable of good, clean cuts and able to keep the 5.1 soundtrack...unlike some 'fan-edits' I've come across.
3. I also need a collaborator who is PATIENT and willing to stick to my EXACT 'cut-list' (which I'm happy to explain all my reasons for in detail, if need be) throughout this project, once it's started. All the descriptions and exact timings would be sent over various e-mails between us, and I'm in no rush whatsoever to get this done quickly. I just want it done with a little care and attention to get it right, as it will eventually be made available for anyone else that is interested too, through certain channels.
So if you think you can match this criteria Spartacus, and are still interested, let me know here, and I'll take things further. No worries if not, and keep your fingers crossed that I can contact someone who can. Thanks.

The plot indeed thickens...
@ Spartacus - If you're happen to be technically adept at 'fan-editing', then I'd certainly be willing to consider your offer of help on the project I mentioned on page 2 of this topic.
However, just so you know, there's a few certain things that I require for this, before I undertake it with any potential collaborator -
1. Ideally, I'd hoped to contact someone who may be capable of cutting a BLU-RAY version of this ALIEN 3 edit. But I'm okay with finding someone who's able to just do a DVD version of this if not. However, it would need to be someone who's able to do a PAL DVD version in that case...as the timings between the NTSC and PAL formats are different, and it would get too complicated and difficult to relay the EXACT 'timings' and descriptions I have in mind.
2. Although I'm not expecting any kind of fancy 'menu' made up for this, I do want someone who can do good clean cuts, and is able to retain the 5.1 sound for this. And I need someone who's capable of cutting this together using the footage from 3 different BLU-RAY sources (or 3 PAL DVD sources, alternatively).
3. And I'd need a collaborator who's PATIENT and willing to cut my EXACT 'cut-list' throughout this process, without altering anything. I've never come across another version of this that ever satisfied me, and would include my reasons for every one of my preferred cuts/alterations during the various ongoing e-mails this would require to do. I'm not expecting this to be done in a hurry, but I just want it done right, and with care.
So let me know here if you happen to match the above criteria or not, Spartacus...as I'm certainly interested if so. And no worries if not, as there's certain editors I have in mind that may be able to help with this instead, eventually. Thanks.

Jesus H Christ "Snorky", That right there is the most amazing thing in the entire story so far !!! It is better, as well, by far, than any one single idea that was filmed for "Resurrection"...
HOWEVER...
You have had the benefit of "second site" and the Joss Whedon did not because there was no talk of Prometheus when he wrote the script for "Res".
AGAIN HOWEVER...
this was never something you had any control over and therefore that makes what you wrote...that much more ingenius!
Up until now then story was Brilliant and I thought to some degree, Lacking in just ONE thing...The "UMPH" factor, which I always define as the One Big "Device in the writing" if you will in any story that grabs the reader by the "boo boo", doesn't let go, and Hooks them so they cannot free themselves from obsessing over it when they lay awake at night and think about it.
I think you just found yours Bro.
That right there goes above and beyond any kind of creative thinking that most people are even capable of !!!
I do not know what else to say man.
Despite any differences you and I may have had in the past, that right there is Effort, Hard work, and above all creative and original thinking on an order I do not think most people can even appreciate...But Snorky...let me tell you right now...
I DO !!!
Like I said, you've found your storys "UMPH" factor, and it could NOT BE ANY BETTER THAN THAT...FOR ME...IT IS THE MOST EXCITING THING I HAVE READ ON THIS WEB SITE SINCE I FIRST GOT HERE!!!
I am flabbergasted by it !!!
Congradulations "Snorky", you have found your special purpose on this earth,

However, there are a few certain requirements I'm looking for before I undertake this with any collaborator -
1. Ideally, I am hoping for someone who is capable of cutting the BLU-RAY versions for this, but having said that, I'd still be thankful of an edit using the DVD versions if not. But I need someone who can cut the PAL DVD in that case. I also require someone who is capable of cutting this together footage from 3 different BLU-RAY sources, for this to work. Yes, 3 different ones, or 3 different PAL DVD sources, if not.
2. Although I'm not expecting any fancy 'menu' or 'extras' done for this, I do need someone who's capable of clean, exact cuts for this, and who's also able to retain the 5.1 sound too.
3. I also require a collaborator who's patient, and willing to cut my EXACT 'cut-list' without changing things. I've never come across an edit of this that's come close to satisfying me, and I'd be happy to explain the reasons for my own preferrences for this edit in detail, when the time comes. All my cut descriptons and timings would be sent in sequence over a series of E-MAILS, but I'm in no particular rush to get this done quickly. I'd just like to find someone who will try to do it right, and with care.
So if you fit the above criteria Spartacus, then I'd certainly be very interested in you help with this sometime, if you still wish. Hey…nice writing Snorkelbottom! I’m actually enjoying reading something I never thought I would…a sequel to ALIEN: RESSURECTION. That was a film that I never really cared for…and still don’t. Of course, I haven’t been completely satisfied with any of the post ALIEN films. However, I think that you’re doing a great job with the given material. Here's another one I did back in the early 80s. Of course, it's based on the original ALIEN film's imagery. I just always liked to imagine a "lonely" sort of Alien, just hangin' around the egg chamber...like an old spider...in an old web...patiently waiting...surviving.

You’ll probably noticed that I altered the Alien’s physique a bit…this is due to the fact that I never really cared for the protuberances on the Alien’s back…in the original Giger design. So I removed them. There was no real conceptual reason that I omitted them…it was totally for personal aesthetic reasons.
Although, I have always thought that they look anatomically awkward for a humanoid shaped physique…kinda hard to sit down or back up into something. Problem for me is…I also sort of like the way they look…it is a pickle…I’m split. Oh well, hope you like the image.
