Something alien that has no long term consequences, maybe. But to start a race, that's something else. But this is just my opinion. It's bad enough Prometheus is going to be made, and ruin the mysteries made in the Alien film. The derelict explanation, I can live with, but the race theory, that's bothersome. I always thought the Alien to be it's own unique race that could be just as old as man, and the SJ just an unfortunate victim when discovered. Only human arrogance could interfere with such notions of having two people - with a minor being effectively the Alien's 'Adam' - and having influences in the 'universe'. Again, these are just my views. My only hope of all my worries being proved silly or wrong is the 'please' bit - but this could merely be Shaw asking the science team to hurry up in the birth process as it's proving to be too painful for her to bear?

The rape idea is interesting though, and I prefer this route (not that I'm favouring rape in general!).

What gets me is when Shaw is screaming "Please" she is upside down. Why is that?

Could be she's on a table, face down, and the camera's shooting her from underneath? (Holloway, you bastard, what have you done!?)

The Xeno we all know and love has already been created 1,000s of years before the Prometheus timeline.They already exist in the Prometheus movie, so how can they be created?The Derelict on LV426 (which isn't in Prometheus) had thousands of hugger eggs, and that ship was eons old?

Where's it written the aliens are thousands of years old, the derelict eons? Mind you, I like this idea much more - that the derelict's left there for thousands/millions of years, and not just 30 years (Prom. set 30 yrs before Alien, so I heard).

i think the "please" is .." get it out of me" ...she is surely on a medical bed ( she have back light ) ... maybe someone ( vickers ? ) suggest that she have to carry on the pregnancy ..while she want it removed because she feel is not human ?

and yes we cant be sure that rapace is the same woman that is pregnant BUT is very probable that she is ( we see her in the medical bed ....we see her is underpants ...we see her after , probably , having made sex with halloway ...we see her in pain ...i mean we have many indication )

Yeah but the lighting on the medical bed shot is all different9green as opposed to blue) and what about the scene where she runs into the room and collapses, is that before or after this scene? And to answer the question, why would it be a xeno she is giving birth to?

As for the mention of her giving birth to a Xenomorph, well that is pure fantasy that some have imagined maybe true, despite the fact that there is no evidence to suggest this.

So these scenes are at the end of the movie?, or do we think she is gonna give birth (to something not even human) then run around and save the earth?I just cannot swallow the birth bit, I mean the missus couldn't walk for days never mind run away from a crashing space ship.

I dont think the birth to be the central focus of the movie ..will be a bit lame since it was used so many times before ...i think it will be solved in a way we dont expect . -if there is an evil birth scene -the boyfriend mutated that sacrify himself to save the girlfriend and earth -the company suit that try to save xenomorphs -the mutated crew that attack the non mutated ones well then better they hire one of us to write plots next time ... i think ( and hope ) things will go in another way

But I'd rather people speculate than we know to much before seeing the film and spoil it. I think we're in for so e big surprises, which is good ...... As long as the surprises are not too surprising, if you know what I mean.

I agree with the idea that the surprise people are looking forward is things staying ALIEN with little human/humanoid importance. Humanoid in SJ chamber ok, all the stuff that goes bump in the temple or derelict = unseen/proto/non humanoid ALIEN species. The space jockey being a space suit has done some mental damage to most, so seeing how PROMETHEUS leads to ALIEN in the last 8 minutes has me scared about all this DNA and mutation talk. I like practical science being used to develop these concepts. I like when an idea leaves you thinking about the horrors in the far reaches of space. The notion of experiments goes wrong, or exposure to a alien substance creating either mechanism (egg, facehugger, or proto xeno) due to hubris. Is not seller for me.

I love ALIEN, I admire it's purity. It's timelessness is due in part to the unknown. To me an idea as uniquely put together as ALIEN, needs to be protected and not easily explained as to give us closure. But in truth should lead us to wonder what other life form could exist in this sinister military plot. I hope human element is only used as tracking device for the xeno aspect to the story. Just the way the Xeno in ALIEN simply looked at Jones the cat, and went on its merry way to get it some human flesh.

I'll be prudent with the "parents" thing. But I'm pretty sure that there's some sex in this movie. If you look at the picture where the guy is awaking, it seems there is somone else in the bed, juste behind... And, this guy hugging his head, seems a bit sick to me... Or he's just suffering of the MEGA jet lag between our planet and his...

It is Rapace. Also if you read her interviews she mentions that shooting the movie was both physically and mentally very tuff on her. I wonder do the jockeys target her because she is a very friendly woman in a bid to find a link to the creation of a new species

We need to stay with what Scott has been saying from day one. NOT A PREQUEL but in the same universe as Alien and some tie in in the last eight minutes. Let that guide us. He doesn't bullshit. Nobody is going to give berth to a facehugger or anything resembling it. Possibly an egg of some sort. Lots of surprises none of us can imagine and unrelated to Alien. Leading to a new story and a sequel based on more unanswered questions going in an entirely different direction to Alien

If AVP is considered in this "Universe" then Xenos already exist before prometheus and have been on earth. This movie would have to have timetravel to explain them having humans origins ie born from Shaw.

Even if it's an 'egg' or strand of DNA that could lead to the creation of the alien race, Shaw and Holloway would be deemed as their gods, their 'Adam' and 'Eve' so to speak. Even if it was against their will (i.e. driven by the infection), I do not like to see this happen for reasons stated in original post. What does interest me is the 'mythology'. I hope that while many regard it as a 'prequel', it's merely a story happening elsewhere in the alien world that does not have direct influence in how we see the alien and its race. The SJ and derelict, I'm not too bothered about. Either way, by the time this film is out there, all the mysteries that made Alien great and powerful will be gone, and the film itself can never be enjoyed the same way again (we'd be thinking, 'oh that Holloway's and Shaw's creation, their baby' etc). The wait until release can be painful as I want my questions and worries answered. I really need to get over it and see there's more to life than some silly film. GRRR!! (thank god i still have my love of star trek which remains untarnished!)

That is not a bad read. Some interesting thoughts there. This Gods/SJ debate seems to be quite rife at the moment and I'm not sure where I stand. Some are saying (as you do) that they are two separate races, others say the SJ's are the Gods/Engineers.

I dont know if I agree that the SJs are not the gods but also think that we will see another race in the movie. I think we will see life cycles or race cycles rather. This will be forshadowing of what is instore for humans.

I too theorize that the jockey is not one of the "gods", or else is a lesser god (Prometheus himself maybe). But what about the Ridley Scott statement that the folks from earth find "uncivilized behavior" when they arrive there?

Hello all, I've been starting following this site 6months ago, another alien/prometheus siet lead me here... I've decided to register just to answer to this topic (you're point of view is very interesting Baldas, and quite possible to me). As a fan of Alien since I am 11 (I'm 27 now) I've read near a thousand pages concerning first Alien film and SJ, and I'm a bit surprised thaht no one here confirm what I'm going to say now: There are two species of what we call "SJ". I've read this on the web years ago, way before Ridley talked about a "prequel to Alien"... In fact I've also read that "SJ" are separated in two [u]castes[/u], but it also includes physical dimorphism. The smaller caste tend to serve the greater one which is also "smarter" and considered as "engineers"... I was so shocked not to find this on this site that I decided to post right now! Please give me some time to find this article again... Was this speculation... maybe, but the idea seems not to be so fresh... ;) Please excuse me for my english. Cheers from France (where nobody can understand what I'm feeling about this SJ mythology, I'm the only real alien fan I know since 15years...)

Baldas, I think your on to something. Here's a odd thought I kept to myself until now. How alive is the derelict? Is the ship only bio-mechanical in it's appearance alone? I do think the derelict is just a cargo ship. I do believe the route this film will take might negate ALIENS and the other sequels, and introduce us to a far more sinister universe/heaven.
