I know this discussion has ended some days ago, but I've just joined the page today and this is the first I have read. So, first of all, hello to everybody. I agree with Spartacus. I'm from Spain, and I have the Spanish Quadrilogy version on DVD, and in THAT scene, in commentaries (and also in Veronica Cartwright's interview, I think) it is said about that sexual reference. Why? Because is terrifying. The Alien is not just a brutal beast that kills people (as it appears in lately movies... ¡sigh!). The Alien is scaring because it's weird, it attacks people from within when it's born. Because of its duality, and I think that Lambert's Death is the most shocking because it's different to all of the rest, and because you can imagine that kind of 'pervert death'. Why this scares to me? Because it gives the Alien some kind of human behaviour that creeps me. But of course, this is my point of view. you analysis is almost entirely wrong, op. the reason lambert was naked is to have the situation allude to a rape. lots of sexuality and innuendos are used not because of "cheap sexual thrills", but because of a deeper subtext.

one more thing, this is to Frantz: I don't know what edition on DVD you have, but in all interviews with Scott, Giger, Cast, the cast, etc... you can see the sexual references in the world of "Alien" and opposite them, the industrial lines of the world of "Nostromo", if you let me say that way...

I'm sorry. I wasn't intended to be rude. If I have been so, I beg your pardon. I was only trying to say that I agree with the opinion about Lambert's Death / rape action from the Alien, and that her death scares me a lot because it has, in my opinion, some strange and different aspects that scares me out, because it removes 'things'. And I think that it was the intention when it was filmed. I've been a great fan of the Alien franchise (basically Alien and Aliens) since I was a child and got shocked when I first saw it. Again, if I have been rude or my english level hasn't allow to me explain my point of view, I'm sorry.

I usually try to avoid conflict and even more so try to avoid reading it, but this has gone on long enough. Spart is spot on with the DVD commentaries. Even the whole idea of Kane getting impregnated was meant as rape. In fact, the whole idea was to make men feel uncomfortable so it wasn't the normal idea of a woman getting raped. The scriptwriters did not want the male audience getting off Scott free (puns intended, both of them). You continually deny facts that have been laid out in great detail in books, interview, commentaries and images. Please do us all a favor and only post if you have something real to add or something to make us laugh (in which most cases , describes your posts). This whole theory mangling is ridiculous and you just need to back off of it before you make yourself look even more foolish. If you take all the commentary on the DVDs the references about sex are very few and with a question mark . Of course someone , that maybe is grown in an age of "different movies" arent able to understand a different cinema ..thats fine .

Unless we are watching "Species"...then thats all about sex and aliens....

I noticed in that video that the Jesus Marionette looks just like the "Big Giant Head" in Prometheus which confirmed even further for me that in the film, the Engineers will construct that thing in the image of a man they think is the coming of a g-d but who turns out to be no different then a "murderous thief" itself.

yip jonsey lives....(a fat little feline now) i think he turned to food to block out the psychological scars from the 2 alien movies he starred in...lol One of the most powerful scenes in aliens is when ripley has the dream where the alien rises out of her stomach and jonsey has his little hissy fit in the corner.....quite the little actor.....and the oscar goes to.....;)

I cannot imagine how angry everyone would be if suddenly out of nowhere Jonsey showed up on board Prometheus...but maybe for a laugh someone can photo shop him on to the Ship or the Space Jockey's Chair or some other funny spot...and then post it here.
