I do not agree with Ridley Scott's belief in that the math shows it to be really impossible for us to be here right now without some help, those are some bold bullshit words in my opinion. I once asked my mother when I was a kid where god came from and she replied to me by saying "you'll have to ask him when you see him". The fact that I had to wait my entire life for an answer I wasn't even sure would be answered when I got there drove me nutts. When I became older I came up with only two possible answers of my own. God was created by another god and is therefore an atheist or God evolved from nothing into something. If God can be an atheist then so can I, if God came from nothingness then so can I. I'm sure the movie will be really awesome and I can't wait to see it, but I don't share the same idea that man needed help to get where he is today. I'm not against Gods or supreme beings, just the act of our creation through them. If you're going to create anything with a mind of its own, then you better damn well make sure it surpasses you or it'll be for nothing.

I think that religious people really underestimate their own intelligence and power....in reality we don't need any kinda superior being to look out for us.....i believe in a higher being....but I think he leaves us to our own devices...good and bad shit happens all the time...weather u pray to god or not!....he does not control what happens in our lives....we do!....he lets nature take it's cause....he lets us take responsibility for our own actions.....assuming a god even exists?.....cause I don't really care to be honest....i just find it fascinating that some others actually do!

when u say u sculpted it...do u mean as in a 3d model (max, maya or whatever 3d application)....or a hand made sculpture?....whatever u did do it with....i myself am a 3d modeler and i am loving it....good job!

well...i am a freelance artist...i do 3d modeling in max....but i am not here to self promote (tho i am always available...lol)....this dude did an excellent job and he deserves some praise....personally when another artist complements my work then i feel very happy....cause other artists are much more critical... your average guy is almost always impressed....but praise from a fellow artist....those ones i take seriously!

I have only seen the tiny avatar....but from what i can tell it is not a digital design....it looks too real...or it has that certain quality .....unless he or she used some very advanced rendering techniques.

No, def looks hand sculpted, no graphics engine I'm aware of can render that well.

Zbrush has some nice matcaps that can get close very easy but If he rendered it with GI, caustics, sub surface scattering in mental ray he could nail it. He would have to be very good at digitaly painting meshs though and the UV texture cooridinates on that would be a nightmare.

Sincere thanks to you all for your comments. This is traditional sculpting, it was sculpted lovingly in clay, moulded with silicone and the pic in Snorkelbottom's avatar is of a painted resin casting from the mould. The sexual aspect in Alien is totally subjective ...you can see it and you cant see it ... there are 2000 interviews with ridley where this aspect is not even touched and a couple where he talk about it ( maybe because he didnt have nothing else to say ) . In all the commentary he do on the DVDs of the Alien Collection 20th anniversay he dont even hint at that ( he say instead that the half naked ripley at the end is the only concession to nudity ). And i really doubt we will see that in Prometheus .

i heard that the jockeys will have to guys forced upon each other....as part of an experiment....now that might gross out everyone...as a gay man i don't really mind....lol...and c'mon if it was 2 females u boys would probably be feeling the same way. The sexual tone of Giger artworks is merely a commercial idea , and he was great in that ...but at the end there are no hints of sexuality in Alien ( and i see that in everyone who see the movie and is said by scott too) ..there are indeed a limited "geeks" and critics population that having to write alot or finding things at all costs start to build something that arouse them . Its easy to to build a mythology about what "should be " behind something ...in the movie as it is there are not such things . Scott brought in Giger because he was really innovative , and thanks God it did that , i dont think he brought him in because he was fascinated by penis and vaginas like someone seems to be . as I said, after Hearing it said in Both Cartwritght's and Scott's own voices there is no denying it. it is fact. not only that, but we also know that Dan O'Bannon got upset on the set whenever people tried to shy away from this or give in to the suits in any way over it and he chewed out Ridley Scott and was kicked off the set for suggesting that he wasn't sticking to what they agreed on...the sexual connotations and implications of the Alien. Have you heard Scott and the rest of the crew on that DVD talking about the "VAGINAL" entry ways into the derelict? Have you seen with your own eyes, the scene in which Cartwright's character is killed but before she is the Alien CLEARLY reaches for her crotch?
