there cannot be a bleak ending on such a mainstream movie ..it will destroy is repetition value and incomes ... also is much more difficult to give a smart good ending ( or almost a huge payoff ) than the classic bad ending that make teens says " oh coool " but then you forgot the movie quite soon . If the first alien move had a bleak ending it would have been almost forgotten ... Instead there are some great bad ending but togheter with an huge payoff ( the gladiator and braveheart are two of those ) , in particular one of the best is the one of "the mist"

Do not forget that there is another Android with them of which Scott is keeping secret. So, be mindful of that....fassbender could be the good android in this as someone else is the mole..

I think that's exactly what the ending will be...BLEAK. I think Scott wants to make a statement about how mankind has squandered some glorious opportunities to learn and grow in from our adventures in space. but it's just my opinion, I'll be satisfied with whatever he does, I have faith in him.

Guy's in the end it's just my take on it. Sure, Ridley might not use a Queen, but I think it's possible Theron is an android. Would love to see Bladerunner universe tied in with this. Anyway, done my bit, let's hear your versions - anyone got a more Disney style finale they want to share? Lol

Rapace survives and becomes the queen of the jockey's world...hows that for a disney ending?

FrantzPrometheus ForumSupposed Leaked Cam Trailer Footage !!!
he will not want to destroy the ties with alien , so it cannot be possibile that the "good" guys return all togheter happily with the heads of the aliens , that would make Alien not coherent with that "universe" . So im thinking more about an ending self sacrifice , a "spiritual" hint that life dosnt born by science ... and an android that survive but choose to keep things for himself .

Yeah, I agree..I do believe that no one will return from this one way trip. I think that Rapace will sacrifice herself to save human race..perhaps causing the dyerlic ship to crash or be responsible for the JOckey getting an Alien in his chest...

It would have to mean that some Alien Race thought enough of him to worship him like a God. It reminds me of perhaps the most famous "Outer LImits" episode ever made entitled "The SandKings" in which some astronauts bring back Alien soil from Mars, one of the company men back on earth in charge of care for the soil gets fired, steals some of the Alien soil and sets it up in an Aquarium inside his shed at his house. One night he leaves an empty can of Peaches beside the aquarium housing the Alien Soil before going to bed. The Alien Creatures, The Sandkings living inside the soil, build 2 war castles based completely on the label they see on that empty can of Peaches and when the company man {Beau Bridges} comes into the shed the next day, he notices that they have also built his likeness into the front faces of the castles, and when he then steps inside the aquarium and raises his arms as if he is a God, the Aliens, lined up for war on opposite sides of the aquarium in front of their respective castles, see this, they part like the red sea, cease their hostilities and back up into formations designed for worshiping their New Human God. That Sculpture is IMO exactly what that is, a salute to a perceived God made by an Alien Race that does not know any better than to worship such an imposing {to them} human figure.

Kind of guessed this would happen, pleased about it but I guess the figures will be £100 plus and just WAY out of my price range..bet they look good though. Be nice to see a re-release of some of the past characters, especially the Marine's 12" figures, always wanted one but just can't afford them.

My take on this, #1-The Original Twilight Zone. It may also be the single greatest TV show of all time. Which was most fabulously written and Hosted by Rod Steiger "et al" from 1959-1964. There were/are some things in those episodes that are still being made into feature length films today, some of the best science fiction writing in both television and film history. #2- The Original "Star Trek" Do not know what else to say about that one except that my best friend George and I still play "Star Trek Trivia" with it and "Guess the Name Of The Episode", 45 years later long distance from my home in Montreal to his in Florida. That, and two other things.. Leonard Nemoy and Gene Roddenberry. #3- My Favorite Martian I went wild for this show as a kid, it was so much fun to watch. A Martian named Exodus comes to Earth to live with Timothy O'Hara. Exodus, a wisecracking alien, moves in with O'Hara under the guise of being his uncle Martin O'Hara. "My Favorite Martian" lasted from 1963-1966. #4- The Outer Limits "There is nothing wrong with your television. Do not attempt to adjust the picture" is the famous line that marked the start of each episode. This science fiction show featured a different cast each week that focused on space travel, time travel, and more. in the 60's for crying out loud... it was so good it could not be forgotten and along running remake is still on TV today and well into a ten plus years run. #5- Lost In Space "Danger Will Robinson, danger!" For three years and countless reruns after, we watched the Robinson family survive against scary and hilarious beings that threatened their existence. The family, as the title implies, was hopelessly lost in space because of a sabotage effort gone awry thanks to Dr. Zachary Smith. The program aired from 1965 to 1968. #6- The 6 Million Dollar Man Those famous words, "We can rebuild him, we have the technology," explain how astronaut Steve Austin (Lee Majors) becomes the "The Six Million Dollar Man." Austin is mutilated after a crash and a secret government agency replaces his now departed parts with super powerful mechanical limbs. Austin uses his new superhuman like powers to solve crimes and catch bad guys. Look for the classic episode when he battled Sasquatch, or Big Foot. The series began in 1973 and resulted in a spinoff series called the "Bionic Woman." #7- 'V' This miniseries was nearly 20 years ahead of "Independence Day." In 1983, sci-fi loving Americans were glued to their seats to watch the Visitors in the miniseries "V." It followed the classic aliens plot — aliens come to Earth to help mankind, but actually want to steal the planet's natural resources. A regular show followed this miniseries, but never quite lived up to the original. #8- The 'X' Files I hated it, each week I was left wanting more and wasn't left satisfied at all with that, but it was WILDLY popular and critically acclaimed for some reason I never got. Still, Massive following and it was hard to argue with that...That said...he X-Files" helped inspire a new generation of Americans to fall in love with conspiracy theories. David Duchovny played FBI agent Fox Mulder who, along with his partner, Dana Scully (played by Gillian Anderson), uncovered extraterrestrial mysteries and tried to use science to explain the unexplainable. The show survived from 1993 to 2002 but quickly faltered when Duchovny went on to pursue a movie career. #9-Batman Before Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, George Clooney, and Christian Bale, there was Adam West playing Batman on TV. This was West at his best playing a somewhat hip, yet straightlaced, hero with sidekick Robin (played by Burt Ward). Who could ever forget the time Batman avoided being frozen to death in a giant ice cream cone thanks to his "bat-thermal underwear?" Yet another genre classic. It ran from 1966 to 1968. #10-The Thunderbirds Perhaps the best puppet sci-fi show of all time. Led by ex-astronaut hero Jeff Tracy, the Tracy family - all marionette puppets - answer the calls for help with their unique rescue vehicles. They call themselves "International Rescue" and from 1965-1966 helped make the world a safer place for marionettes everywhere. ~Spartacus

Bishop, I could be very very off here but IMO there is a 100% chance it is BISHOP. Here is why. They tried to get Weaver to do a cameo and I think she, and Scott, decided it would be better not to given the rest of the content he had in mind for the film. I think somehow to get close, at least to some sly references to her character as a fan of the franchise pleasing platform "foreshadowing" the 4 original films, they may somehow show us that Bishop has been a round a lot longer than any of us ever knew. He was Key Player at "Waylan Yutani", maybe even it's director, that much we know for sure, so it fits in my mind with the storyline. The scene below from the extended edition of Alien 3 is referenced in the Collectors Quadrilogy BoxSet as... "Never Trust Bishop" ----------------- Ripley -> "Don't come any closer." Aaron -> "Wait, They're wanna help" Ripley -> "Stay where you are." Bishop -> "Ripley." Ripley -> "Bishop." Bishop -> "I am here to help you." Ripley -> "No More Bullshit...I just felt it move." Bishop -> {Loudly now} "Do You Know Who I Am ?" Ripley -> "You're a droid, same model as Bishop, sent by the F*****g company, Bishop -> "No, I'm not the Bishop Android, I designed him, I'm very human. The company sent me here to show you a friendly face, To demonstrate how important you are to us... To Me." Ripley -> "You just wanna take it back." Bishop -> "We wanna kill it and take you home." Ripley -> "Bullshit." Bishop -> "You're Wrong...we wanna help." Ripley -> "What does that mean ?" Bishop -> "I'm gonna take that out of you." Ripley -> "..and Keep It !" Bishop -> "We can't allow it to live, everything we know would be in jeopardy." Ripley -> "You don't want to take it back ?" Bishop -> "Ripley...Time is important...let us heal your wounds...we've got a surgical base set up on the rescue ship...come with me..." Unidentified Soldier/Technician behind Bishop with Machine Gun -> "It's very quick, painless, a couple of incisions, you'll be out in 2 hours." Bishop -> "And then it's over...you still can have a life...children...and most important...you'll know it's dead...let me help you" Ripley -> "What guarentee do I have...once you've taken it out...that you'll destroy it ?" Bishop -> "You'll have to trust me...please...trust me" Ripley -> "No." He could have even been a part of the original Prometheus mission and brings a lot of added value to the table like being able to remote pilot a ship...and contain unruly inmates...lmao.

The fact that that they are keeping that of all things such a guarded secret is the main clue in and of itself to the answer which I believe I have found. At this point, in order for it to make any sense and mostly because he did not use the descriptive.."New"...in his sentence when he said that...it can only be one of two androids in particular...Only One of them though... "Call." or "Bishop". The following dialogue is from the final moments of the extended version of "Alien 3" on the Collector's Edition Quadrilogy Box Set. It is referenced as... "Never Trust Bishop" Ripley -> "Don't come any closer." Aaron -> "Wait...They're here to help." Ripley -> "Stay where you are." Bishop > "Ripley." Ripley -> "Bishop." Bishop -> "I'm here to help you." Ripley -> "No more bullshit, I just felt it move." Bishop -> {Loudly Now} "Do You Know Who I Am ?" Ripley -> "You're a Droid, same model as Bishop, sent by the f*****g company." Bishop -> "Ripley...Time is Important... Soldier in White Lab suit -> "Let us heel your wounds." Bishop -> "We've got a surgical base set up on the rescue ship...come with me." Soldier in White Lab suit -> "It's very quick, painless, a couple of incisions, you'll be out for 2 hours." Bishop -> "And then it's over....you still can have a life...children...and most important...you'll know it's dead...let me help you." Ripley -> "What guarentee do I have... that once you've taken it out... you'll destroy it ?" Bishop -> "You have to trust me....please...trust me." Ripley -> "No." ------------------------------- The following dialogue is from the final moments of the extended version of "Alien Resurrection" on the Collector's Edition Quadrilogy Box Set. It is referenced as... "I'm a Stranger Here Myself" Call -> "So this is earth ?" Ripley #8 -> "This is Earth." Call -> "It's my first time here...suppose the military will be sniffin' around here pretty soon...bet you're not to anxious to see them." Ripley #8 -> "Not really." Call -> "You Know, a person could get really lost around here if they wanted to...what do you think...what should we do ?" Ripley #8 -> "I don't know...I'm a stranger here myself." ---------------------------- Bishops intentions are clearly to aquire the alien for Waylan Yutani's "Bio-Weapons" division and this is confirmed in Resurrection. If call thinks she has never been to earth, and even suggests to Ripley to run away now before the company gets to the crash site, her intentions are therefore honorable towards Ripley...and they get proven as such several times in that film That leaves One Answer and it is... BISHOP Perhaps a different actor model or using CGI but it has to be BISHOP to make any sense...he is the ONLY Android with the correct intentions who could have had access to the information and history of Prometheus's mission 30 years prior...and at the same time...known of the original Queen inside Ripley, which is more than likely how General Perez has come to aquire a Queen on board the U.S.S. Auriga under the closley guarded care of "Father". Bishop had to have been involved. And we know he must have been, because Gediman tells us They "Took DNA samples from her death site on Fiorina 161." Only Bishop could have known exactly where to do that. For them to keep it a secret it cannot logically be any other Android at this point then Bishop. Otherwise there would be no need to keep it quiet and they Risk losing a lot of credibility by doing that.

you could be right, i wouldn't be surprised at all if he went in a totally different direction. I could be way way off, it's just a hypothesis, But I like it a lot. I am in fact speculating, and you are absolutely right I want there to be a solid tie with the rest of the franchise and that calls my whole take on this into question...it's just wish full thinking on my part.

Yeah, I think the only thing that Scott is using is the Weyland name and thats it. I think he will throw a monkey wrench in there. I think fassbender will be a fairly good android but the sleep android will be the one who programed to bring back the specimen....but who knows at this point...Scott can do anything.

Any theories on the last 8 mins? I reckon, birth of giant Xeno from Space Jockey (of course), beast kills off Elba and Theron in that order...distress beacon set up my Fassbender to lure Nostromo, Fassbender killed by dying Rapace who's in state of metamorphosis...no survivors...cut to 30 years later, ampule room morphed into eggs room, beacon monitor shows signal from Nostromo...cut to titles...maybe haha

I am afraid to say but just now I had a flash that the last scene in the film is... That "S.J. guy" {lmfao, those are also my 1st two initials} in that chair landing on LV-426 and dying, and then, a few seconds later, "prolly" represented with some sort of time lapse, out pops you know what and what it/they does/do...first..."A molecular acid based... Mark...a Buuuurn" right before they trotter down through their hastily created hole in the side of the hull where Cain will fall through soon, and then lay out "a layer of nest" to just cover their Queen's thousands of egg-like Incubators !!! Enter The Queen. The End!

These are awesome shots! At first I thought the pic of the head in thumbnail size was one of the crew members badly mutilated or altered. Then I was bummed to find out it was only the Giant Head statue. Still, very creepy image of the ampule room. Can't wait for the trailer!!

I know that the shots look a bit polished, but I'm sure that's due to the art direction from both the Magazine AND the studio; and does not reflect the movie's final look. While Ridley doesn't want to release too much info on the film, remember that the studio needs to promote/market the movie to the general movie-going audience. Hence the nice polished, but still spooky/sci-fi look of the official images. While I know Ridley is going to make a great movie (even possibly Oscar worthy). Unfortunately, that doesn't mean the movie will gross significant profits. We're in a time where mostly only summer action blockbusters or teenie-bopper movies come close to record breaking numbers. While a movie might not have to hit that high in the numbers dept, it still has to do fairly well in order to be considered a success by the studio and therefore warrant further sequels. Honestly, I believe this movie will be perhaps one of the best sci-fi movies of the decade, perhaps even close in originality and design to the original "Alien". But I fear it will only do "OK" at the theater profit-wise. Maybe enough to warrant a sequel. (Unless , of course, the movie has an original controversial scene akin to the original chest-burster sequence that will draw general movie goers in for the shock-factor). Aside from all the marketing/profit talk, I can't wait till this movie debuts. The images have me even more excited. I hoping this film will bump "Alien" down from #1on my personal list of all-time favorite movies...

@Biomechanic You bring up an excellent point, the one in the comic-con stills definitely looks different. As well as its teeth on show, it looks a lot more 'fleshy' and also seems to have some sort of metal covering on its nose. Just a thought guys; could we have two heads on the ship? Or is the head pictures organic? Can it move, talk etc?

They are engineering humans (and other species - it's what they do). This is the 'human' ampule room. I'm guessing there is a 'xenomorph' ampule room somewhere as well as other ampule rooms for other species. The stone? head represents the human race. The other rooms will have heads of other species. The ampules contain human dna. The other rooms will contain other species' dna. Or this is the only ampule room.

I'd say there are more ampule rooms.... If you watch alien again when Kane is being lowered down into the cabin where all the eggs are, there is one wide shot where you can see that the chamber extends away for a long distance and turns right and then left again.... i.e. thousands of zenomorph eggs..... So I'd say there are definitely numerous species on board the derelict space ship.... The images look great.... don't get me wrong but I remember Ridley saying that they were re-engineer the Nostromo to get a good look for this film.... I thought they would have done the same for the space suits, made them larger and more chunky then what see saw in "Alien"....

JonesyTheCatPrometheus ForumBREAKING NEWS: MORE OFFICIAL IMAGES RELEASED
Paddy101 - Hear what you say on the spacesuits, but remember Ripley's lot were 'space truckers' and this lot are researchers/scientists, so naturally the suits would be different. Ripley's lot just needed suits that are maybe for quite harsh conditions on mining facilities etc, wheras this new lot need simpler suits for conducting experiments etc.
