BigDave - I have the feeling that the bigguy will look like the original unused monster concept.
Wow! The top of the pilot room can be transparent?

I agree that Gore and Blood does not have to mean a movie is a Horror, all they do is make some scenes Horrific...
I dont find AC a Horror myself at all, it all pretty much was more like a Alien Resurrection with less Action, a bit of Philosophy and Thriller element added and more Gory.. but it was still pretty much no more a Horror than AR was IMO.
I think Alien 3 was more a Horror than AC, Hell even Star Ship Troopers could be seen as just as much Horror as AC IMO
The incoming party he appears to allure to being returning Engineers to a Devastated Planet 4, but i am not 100% convinced the General Fanbase is excited to see more on the Engineers, it appears a lot are disappointed with the AI and David route too.
I do think FOX/RS may have to introduce us to another party who are pulling the strings, and i think they would have to make these guys more Alien or have a very sinister Agenda.
I hope these Matrix-style tubes won't be overused in the Alien movies to come:

Ingeniero - Ok, I see that AC needed a planet like Planet 4 (with forests, lakes, fields, etc) but the next movie should look more Alien - I mean I don't want to see plants, seas, etc, I want 'dead' planets, more spacesuits, more spaceships, asteroids, etc...
More scenes like this in the next Alien movies, please:

Let's slice the next last alien before cooking it.
'Francis Aaron ran the scan and he does not have a good poker face when looking at the screen.'
So true! :DDDDD

Ingeniero - It is one of your funniest and best articles! You helped me solve a great mystery! I mean it was a mystery for me - until now:
The Queen alien is shown in the screen upside down:

Thank you so much! :D :D
Ingeniero - 'humanity began with the work he had done to his body'
It would be good to see (more) cyborg-like creatures in the Alien Universe. And it would be awesome to see real robot-like robots in the next alien movie.
It's a little bit funny that the creator is called Bishop II.
'I'm sure we have all seen Avatar and were spoiled with amazing graphics combined with a shallow story as to not distract us too much from the amazing graphics.'
This sentence by you is a piece of art. :)
Please don't put time travel!
What do you think about solar flares? Sun solar flare hit the Earth and Alien got reborn :D
Great still Ingeniero!
I like the fact that your articles contain several images/stills revealing something new - I mean, new for me.

Ingeniero - 'The Prometheus entering the valley is such a great scene.'
True!
I would like to see a space version of this approach. A ship moving slowly between asteroids, space debris, ghost spaceships, etc would be a fantastic sequence in the next Alien movie.
My favorite Alien design is the Grid one from Alien vs. Predator, i really liked his leader role and the way he killed two predators
Xenomorph ->Alien Covenant!
Fin.
I guess it wouldnt be a good Alien story unless something got fired out of an airlock...so without further adieu

...and a swig of Jack as a night cap

My best is the neomorph because its so different, white skin, that cool weird goblin shark jaws.
They still haven't completed the parking lot and west wall. I feel like a total stranger here. Time to go back home and give it another go tomorrow....fin?

The original design is my favorite. It is unnerving to see the humanoid skull underneath the dome. It's like a demon stuck in a space suit.
This is an easy one. Originally I would have used an image such as...

For me, the Alien was a connotation of the terror one would feel when truly contemplating the empty, lifeless, void of space, its violent birth and it's unforgiving yet remorseless nature. To be honest the tagline said it all - in space, no one can hear you scream.
But after Prometheus and especially Alien Covenant this is the image I would use...

Alien Covenants retcon of the Aliens origins and the fascination over Davids attempts at creating the Perfect Organism from both the remains of the dead and a weapon of death, is heavily reminiscent of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein: The Modern Prometheus. The reason I use an image from I, Frankenstein (one of the worst adaptations of the character) is simply because Alien Covenant wasn't the sequel I signed on for - following Prometheus I was invested in the character of Elizabeth Shaw and her quest for the truth, not the continued experiments of David; experiments he should have ceased following Weyland's death for it was Weyland that had ordered these experiments in the first place.
End of rant.
My favorite is the Alien Queen from Aliens because she is the biggest and baddest!
cuponator3000 nice one!! Very iconic that image.
Tiwaz lol reminds me of that If James Franco survived video going around

dk haha yeah, I went out of my way not to use the same pictures you did...
I'm a fan of the design from Aliens the most.
It took the bio-mechanical design, and made slightly more organic
Rick That's ok lol! I will find a way. I was a day off and would have traded an AC A Box but it is comitted. Day late and a dollar short. The A Box is going to an unsung member who deserves it!
My favorite xenomorph is the original one because it's the one that best resembles H.R. Giger's alien. When I think of a xenomorph, the Big Chap always comes to mind. I also think its more pleasing to the eye than the one from any of the other movies to me. Alien (1979) is my favorite movie of all time and it is the one that scared me the most.
LOL, I've always liked Grid for some reason. Prolly cuz he whooped a predator solo. No dk mask is mine buddy !!!!!
OOH, OOH! Mr. Scified! I want that darn mask!

Necrotard Ah- A kindred spirit! Check the first post :)

This. The set and creature of design of Alien is legendary, and this Space Jockey set piece is, possibly, the most memorable one of all. I can close my eyes and relive the first time I saw the camera pull out to that wideshot and the musical cue... Man, I love it!
I have to go with the original design from A L I E N, The Big Chap! I love so many of the designs from the franchise, but I can't not go with the original. A very mesmerizing, horrifying, beautiful, and just plain cool, design that was an integral part of making my favorite movie of all time, what it is.
In the light of recent "developments" this came into my mind:

You're doing it wrong!! XD
I've always been a big fan of the "dog alien" or "the runner". I love the jaguar inspiration in the way it moves.
Even through the dated effects, a certain amount of grace is apparent in the full-body shots of the creature running.
I also feel that the smoother edges, more aerodynamic head, lack of dorsal tubes, and more human facial features amplify the whole "disturbingly erotic" theme from Giger's works.
It is mysterious- a familiar object with the suspense of appearing that something is about to happen.
I guess dk and me are the most old school here lol
