Oh I hated Battlestar Galactica especially after the first season
Transferring consciousness to synthetic bodies remembers me the Cylons from the fantastic TV show 'Battlestar Galactica'.
Transferring human consciousness to synthetic bodies contradicts hugely the old Peter Weyland's fragile existence in the movie 'Prometheus'. Why Search for eternal Youth, if you can transfer your consciousness to a synthetic body?
In the movie 'Replicas' 2017, i think the Scientist transfers his consciousness to a robot. It's a very interesting movie.
I saw a movie, 'Replicas' 2017, Starred by Keanu Reeves, where a scientist stores human consciousness in a computer and then transfers it to human clones. Amazing.

I am really not feeling this TV series, for starters setting in the near future means were getting a more or less present day setting with some future sci-fi aesthetics.
The plot is confirmed to be set on Earth, which coincides with the near future setting contrasting the distant future setting of the films.
Now this plot dealing with humans transferring bodies...why does this sound more like Star Trek instead of Alien? I mean if this was set around Alien Resurrection time period, mind transference would be a different story but not so close to the present day.

Even ignoring David and the prequels, the Alien TV Series could be the possible connection between the prequels (Prometheus, Alien Covenant) and the film Alien 1979. It's ONLY needed that The Weyland Company acknowledges the existence of the Xenomorph on the moon LV-426 and sends there the commercial spaceship Nostromo, with the purpose of its/his android Ash conducing experiments, involving the human crew and the perfect organism.
Interpreting literally the words of Ridley Scott, i think Noah Hawley is doing a kind of remake of the Alien 1979 FILM, first showing the society of the homeworld (earth) that Will lead mankind to the moon LV-426.

Alien has always had political undertones (WY anyone?) it's a bit late to complain about that now, right? One thing that I would like to add is to get the story right, then characters, then you can try to think about what the messages should be. For those that don't like it, well, you have Fox news and so on.
As far as an authentic take, well that includes political messages since they were there from day one (the monsters as a metaphor for rape, a crew being expendable, and so on). If they want to include political messages, then you don't need to watch.
Don't have too much comedy in it, we already have AR.
I hope the revamp ORGANISMS HOME WORLD will be similar to the older comics and not a stereo-typical mordor-esque death world
Well for Covenant I figured since it is an early generation xenomorph, David was going to iron out its kinks. Also the ALIENS and Alien 3 they had long gestation periods.
I feel that this "This being to Transfer your Memories, Emotions, Personality into 0's/1's so it can be STORED in a A.I Medium and then Transferred into another BODY." Should be something done in the distant future around Alien Resurrection time, not pre-Prometheus time

Well its too Early to say what the TV Series will Introduce, we maybe should NOT go and Read too much into Stuff.
At the Basics it looks like the Inequality may come down to HOW you have the Common People being USED by the Rich Mega Corps.....were we will see some People who will be LED to think they are being Given Opportunities to their Benefit, but they are Merely being TAKEN Advantage of.
The Casting Details has just shown us that there will be a Military Element, which will Result at some point in a Military Conflict between the Xenomorph. (as the slow Burn will Build Up into Action and Special Effects Heavy Scenes which include the Xenomorph.

so Experiments in Transferring your Mind/Soul and Consciousness into another BODY may Require a MIDDLE Component to STORE this Contagiousness.
This being to Transfer your Memories, Emotions, Personality into 0's/1's so it can be STORED in a A.I Medium and then Transferred into another BODY.
This does-not have to mean the Solider that Wendy's Mind is in would be a Synthetic/Robot.
The TV Series does seem it will TOUCH UPON the Subject of A.I as being a Future Threat/Problem.... but then we will see a ANCIENT Threat which could be WHERE we get the Xenomorph from.

This is a CONCERN... i hope they do-not put too much Comedy into the Series.... we DO-NOT want to see another THE PREDATOR here.
I think the Comics to offer a LOT of Alternative Stories and Ideas and as you have pointed out before, some of the STUFF that in the Older Comics may Conflict what we see in Latter Movies but these Comics where Created prior to Certain things we saw LATTER in the Movies.... so they had EVERY RIGHT to Explore the OPEN ENDED Franchise that we was LEFT with at the TIME the Comics where made etc.
The Prequels do-not CLOSE the Door on seeing a ALIEN WORLD that Predates the Prequels, because EVEN if the Xenomorph came AFTER the LV-223 Experiments etc. You still have the MYSTERY about WHAT was the Basis and Origin of those Experiments.
And so they could be Explored like what was Indicated in the Early Work/Drafts by John Spaights from 2010, which seems to IMPLY the Xenomorph and Variants are the Results of the Engineers Creation Tool used on some ORGANISM they had Encountered.
so you could Explore those Origins and introduce another ALIEN Species that we can see some Connection to the Xenomorph with but are NOT the Xenomorph.
And so you can go to this ORGANISMS HOME WORLD.
YES after ALIENS the Xenomorph Aesthetic looked more Organic than it was in ALIENS and more so ALIEN.
The Queen for Example looks more Organic well it does-not have much of that HR Giger Aesthetic, more Insect like. And in the Movie Franchises we have NOT seen the Xenomorph as Bio-Mechanical as the First Time we ever saw ONE in ALIEN.
The TV Series Xenomorph does appear that i will be more Closer to WHAT we saw in Alien Covenant than in ALIEN.
Regarding the Gestation Period then YES this was FAST in the AVP Franchise for Plot Convenience. And we saw this Continue with Alien Covenant.
I think this is the WAY we will see them from NOW-ON... so it wont be the LONG Gestation that we saw in ALIEN.
I'm on the fence as well... my biggest fear is that this show gets plagued by millennial bullshit. I just want an authentic take on Alien adapted for TV with as minimal political crap as possible thrown in. Some shows are impossible to watch lately with the amount of force-fed propaganda.

well the AVP movie xenos reused the AR xeno designs is what I ment and in an alledge cut scene the AVP!movie xenomorphs were feed a growth accelerant or were genetically modified by the Predators to grow faster
David is David there is no upload when David grabs the kinfe it is to cut off his hand to mimic walter. There are limitations to Walters repair ability otherwise he would have regrown his hand. Walter is not expiered as David acting as walter tells Daniels when she asks about David. Walter is only incapacitated. David already had the embryos in his stomach. Both David and walter have repair abilitys walter more so than David. If you recall David can grow hair.
With Alien R they do appear to look a Little Different and this can be PUT DOWN to the Xenomorph Queen coming from Ripley 8 and so may have some Human DNA... this is WHY we got the New Born.
So they would NOT be Classed as the Standard Version.
Those in the AVP Franchise are.... well we do have the Pred-Alien which is just a Xenomorph that Incubated in a Predator and we saw it Procreate which lead to Xenomorphs that Basically came out the same as the Standard kinds.
They kind of looked a bit Different due to Lower Budget/Quality. But were intended to look like the Warrior Class from ALIENS.
When i USE the Term Vanilla... i refer to a Human Xenomorph that is from the Eggs on LV-426 but this also includes a Xenomorph Queen who Originated from LV-426.
The Runner would also be in this Category it is Merely something that came from a Different Host, and so the Pred-Alien is the same... from the SAME FACE HUGGERS just a Different Host.
so you would have Variants which DEPEND on the Host.
With Alien R then they are a Little Different as they have some Human DNA to them. With Alien C they look a little Different because we are seeing something that will EVOLVE to become what we have in ALIEN.
AVP well again they NEVER came from LV-426 or we can Suspect..... but for all Intensive Purposes its the SAME kind of Monster.
By that i am talking about the Eggs we see in ALIEN, ALIENS, AVP, and the Face Hugger which comes from these Eggs.
So when i talk about the Vanilla-Morph i mean the Standard way we have seen them, and i feel that you have to HANDLE them with Care because there is maybe ONLY so much you can do with Egg+Face Hugger and BIG GUY or Queen.
My point being... if we had say AC2, AC3 which Feature more Xenomorphs like we saw in say AVP or Alien R or even Aliens. Then we get another 2-3 Movies set after ALIEN or ALIENS and again these Feature the Xenomorphs as much as those Movies...
Can you then Continue with more Movies after that?
Same goes with the TV Series... if Season 1 is 10 Episodes, and say 3-4 Feature the Xenomorph, then Season 2 is 12 Episodes and they are in 6-8, and Season 3 comes out can you CONTINUE to have the Xenomorph having say 25-30% of the Screen Time?
Especially if its HOW we seen it in ALIEN, ALIENS, AVP/AVPR etc.
The WALKING DEAD would NOT have Continued for LONG if it was Purely about Escaping from Zombies for like 20-25 Min Per Episode and Season after Season.
You have to look at other Threats... or UPLIFT or EVOLVE the Xenomorph, but this is just My Opinion... others will have their own View on this.
They KEY thing is getting it RIGHT.... and New Ideas.... but i Suspect the ALIEN Franchise will be more Tarnished then Terminator in 10-15 Years....
This is the MAIN POINT that Ridley Scott is bringing up about this Interview..... WHEN we had ALIEN it was NEW FRESH and something that was kinda of Unique...... with ALIENS it Expanded it a bit and was a Very Good Action Variant....
But your NEVER going to have the Same Effect as the First Time it was Introduced as it was something thats NEVER SEEN before.....
And i would say ALIENS is the same..... Action Heavy, gave us the Queen.....
The TV Series seems that it will GET to some Action Heavy Xenomorph Scenes late on..... but would you be able to Produce another ALIENS? Or get a AVPR?
Is the TV Series going to TRY and Re-Invent the Wheel? or NOT?
I cant see HOW it can AVOID a Conflict with the Franchise, and Especially the Prequels.... i Suspect this will be some kind or Soft Reboot.
We could maybe get a Re-Hash of Sorts of AVP (minus the Predators) and well then we get a AVPR (minus the Predator/Pred-Alien).
But we Cant Judge it at the Moment.... its Too Early...

Yeah this was a Speculative Topic at the Time that was made by Gavin, and prior to the Movie Release so it was Speculating what we saw in the Trailers etc ;)
This does-not Prevent the Planet (Planet 4) from becoming a Xenomorph World, there are Eggs that remain and well they are WAITING for HOSTS... and it only takes a Few of them (Xenomorphs) before we get to a Outbreak (Hadleys Hope).... to TRULY have a Xeno-Prime it would seem the Xenomorphs would NEED a Massive amount of Hosts/Genetic Material.
Planet 4 may seem VOID of Life.... but this is NOT the Case... it would seem that a Radius to the Bombardment has been Eradicated of LIFE.. but Beyond this Area is Exists as this is WHAT we know David had Experimented with.
The SPORES just show that the Pathogen can Mutate Life to become something that PROCREATES a Life-Form that has a Connection to the Xenomorph, Deacon and the Neomorph is ONE Example.
WHY should this STOP at the Spores? And so the Neomorph can likely Procreate and we have to think HOW... and in Order to Obtain a Neomorph... well there are Plenty of Spores that Remain... they just NEED a Organism to come Close and Trigger them.
I think that YES a lot had been Explored in Comics, but its a CASE of if these are Considered Canon to the Movie Franchise, i think RS certainly saw them as Separate.
And i think thats the Preferred way were Comics can Expand into Alternative Realities and Introduce things to the Franchise, without being a Direct Canon.
But Canon also comes down to Personnel Choice, some people DO-NOT Accept ALIENS as Canon..... this in Part is because it Changed what the Xenomorph was supposed to be... but i SAY you have to Accept what your Shown, sometimes this means things that are NOTHING like what you Expected or Wanted... but then your also FREE to NOT go and Accept anything.
The Prequels are a Good Example... some Purely do-not Accept them as Canon.
I think that there are Fans who would LOVED to have seen where James Cameron was to have taken the Franchise, as he saw the Xenomorph as a Pre-Existing Organisms and would have taken us to a XENOMORPH-PRIME like World.
Where as Ridley Scott had Envisioned the Xenomorph as Merely a Engineered Creation... just that after 2015 they Decided to Change the Creator.
And so in these Cases then Xeno-Prime does-not Exist as FAR as a World of Origin.
This does-not mean that you cant go to a World that has become Overtaken by the Xenomorph and In-Effect looks like a Xeno-Prime.
The Derelict may-not have been the ONLY such Ship with a Cargo!
Has someone Tried to Obtain a Specimen but they Ended Up on another Worlds after it got out of Control?
I think when it comes down to Xenomorphs on Earth you have to be Careful it could be a RISKY PLOT..... maybe it could be USED as a Event on Earth that led to the Destruction on Earth we see at the END of Alien Resurrection? Or you could set it after the Events of Alien Resurrection.
I think to Explore such would be a RISK but more so depending on the Time-Line (i dont have much HOPE for the TV Series.... as far as HOW IT WILL EFFECT the Canon).

Xenomorph Prime as depicted in Earth Trilogy and follow up Dark Horse Comics, showed that the xenomorphs weren't top predators of said world. The xenomorphs had two creatures that actively preyed on it, delta wing pterosaur-like creatures and a vaguely grasshopper-like dog-things
I think I recall there being some form of vegetation depicted on Xenomorph Prime in Female War. The Xenomorphs were just common in the more arid parts of xenomorph prime and I just realized the topic was about Alien Covenant's planet 4 and not the Dark Horse comic's xenomorph prime
I don't consider the AVP or ALIEN R vanilla-morphs since they aren't pure xenomorphs (Hybrid in AR and genetically altered in AVP films[unless your talking about the ones from the AVP comics, games and book?]) like the ones in the ALIEN trilogy

I think you have to ASK as to WHY would you Create a Robot Xenomorph Clone as WHAT ADVANTAGE does the Aesthetic have for a KILLING MACHINE?
Two Arms, Two Legs, a Tail and Razor Sharp Claws/Fangs/Jaw but you would NOT have to have it look Exactly like a Xenomorph.
UNLESS...... you are Attempting to Create something that can MIMIC a Xenomorph to Infiltrate a Hive for whatever reason.
Regarding Dean... i think its the same as say Davis vs Roy Batty... a Synthetic/Robot within the SAME KIND of Body Frame/Size should be Superior as far as Physically
There is a LOT OF MYSTERY that remains within the ALIEN FRANCHISE.....
Even IF we IGNORE the Prequels as in we do-not go to LV-223 or Planet 4 etc.
So you could LEAVE as to HOW/WHEN the Derelict got to LV-426.
But you have these Questions....
1) What Exactly Caused and WHEN the Hole in the Pilot Chamber on the Derelict?
2) Was the Derelict the ONLY SHIP that had that Cargo, were there others? and WHERE did they get to.
And after ALIEN we have these.
A) What caused the HOLE in the Derelict that the Jordens had Entered through? It looks like a Explosion from inside.
B) What became of the Derelict after the Destruction of Hadleys Hope? Was the Ship Totally Destroyed? Can you Salvage something from inside? And what EFFECT would Radioactive Fall Out have on the Eggs?
So IF we are to Concentrate on the Vanilla-Morph which is the Standard Face Hugger we have seen in the ALIEN FRANCHISE and AVP.
Then there could be other Avenues to them both After ALIEN and between ALIENS and ALIEN R.
You can also get to Hybrids, and Variations of the Xenomorph if we EXPLORE them being Experimented on, or HOW they could Adapt/Evolve on a World over MANY YEARS.

So we are NOT shown the Home-world of the Xenomorph as this is a Engineers Home-world that had been Contaminated with the Pathogen, which infected some Fungi/Spores.
Regarding the THING then i think the Pathogen and The Thing are similar. And so IF the DNA/Virus of the THING was to contaminate Water and END UP being released in Rain Fall then END RESULT would be the END OF ALL LIFE within Days/Weeks depending on how WIDE the Infected Rainfall has Spread.
Regarding Xenomorph Prime..... with the Prequels we have gone the Route that such a Place does-not Exist in TERMS of the ALIEN we encountered in ALIEN.
This does-not mean we CANT go and see a World that has been Turned into like Xenomorph Prime... we have NOT had a Conclusion to the Prequels and so we CAN-NOT go and ASSUME that the Derelict was the ONLY SHIP that was Loaded with the Cargo.... so other SHIPS could have LEFT and IF any had Deployed the Xenomorph on a World that had LIFE then over Years it would Certainly look like Xenomorph Prime.
Well the xenomorph homeworld in Outbreak/Earth Hive wasn't devoid of life, maybe they landed on the desert region of the planet?
Not saying the Tv series should replace Alien Isolation, heck no! I consider that game CANON, I am saying we should explore this fuzzy gap of ALIEN history and the Weyland Yutani Corporation's activities during the interregnum.
I honestly think the TV series should world build the interregnum between ALIEN and ALIENS; like ALIEN ISOLATION.
