ali81Alien: Covenant ForumWhat did Elisabeth Shaw know after 'The Crossing'?

as david says 'red to red, blue to blue, its supposed to be simple', I think we can safely ascertain david is talking shaw through the process as there is no logical reason shaw would already have the knowledge to put a synthetic back together on her own. as for tools, perhaps david has basic tools on him incase of field repairs he may need to carry out on himself?

That mural only prove that Xeno's exist long ago !!!  And prove my theory about AVP movies to get canon with alien movies !!!

ali81Alien: Romulus 2 NewsAn Engineer battles Xenomorphs in epic Prometheus / Alien: Covenant fan art!

id love to see a one on one xeno v engineer fight. but as many say, do it in a way that the xeno doesn't loose any of its threat or fear factor. id have the opening scenes of the next instalment back on paradise. the existing engineers haven't heard from the planet so an elder ship is sent but so to is a military ship. the elders disembark and investigate. they learn what happened and then the military ship arrives. while the elder and military commander are discussing what happened, a lone engineer, while investigating davids lab, stumbles into the egg chamber and is impregnated (or use the existing neomorph perhaps). a few engineers r taken by surprise by the xeno or neo which is witnessed by the landing parties. the big boss military commander then deals with the threat, showing the engineers real strength but as he is larger than the rest of the engineers, we still get the sense that almost anyone will fall victim to the xeno/neo, thus its threat remains intact. once the threat has been dealt with the commander angrily confronts the elder, suggesting he is telling the elder he was warned about playing god and that it is obvious their original plan to wipe out humanity has obviously been unsuccesfull. he then tells the elder he will hunt down those responsible then deal with the threat of humanity once and for all.

I'm also really enjoying picturing David living as a decapitated head for six to twelve months as he earned Shaw's trust, because that is freaking hilarious. Must have been damned frustrating for a busy-bee like him.

I have to admit that what I wanted to see for Prometheus 2 was something similar to Lexx, a Sci fi show about a decapitated robot who is madly in  love with his female master. She carries his head around on their adventures. :)

ArkhamWrathAlien: Covenant ForumDavid Did Not Create the Xenomorph

Predators kills last xenos on the earth, on Antarctic !!!  Lex and Scar kill last queen !!!  There are no more xenomorphs !!!

One century latter one android - David evoke one alien species.  The Deacons !!!

He try to control it, but unsuccessful, he try create new one which he can control !!!  When he find dead facehugger ( we saw drawings of it in his lair ) he try to bring it to life...he cant... he clone it... but it need egg... sth need to lie a egg... a female... a queen !!!   He connect eggs with Dr. Shaw... he create first live eggs after century of they extinction !!!  He brings xenomorphs to live again, resurrect them !!!

Is it enough good ???    I try my best :P  lol

Anyway there is a huge jump between evolution of spores to one big alien egg !!!    How he create egg, how he geet facehugger in it.. only good explanation for that is... old dead egg with facehugger in it... which he cloned and merge with Dr. Shaw !!!   He resurect xenomorphs !!!  Don't create them !!!   He don't create anything at all in Prometheus, not even in Covenant... he just bring things to life !!!

In my opinion, the engineers we saw in Alien covenant are primal Engineers, religious and indigenous ones who live in these roman/greek like cities on colonized planets all across the galaxies. When they saw the juggernaut arriving they all gathered and started waving at it as they were welcoming the newcomers or the engineers from LV-223, just like in the ancient times when the warriors would return from war their citizens would all gather and welcome them.

The ones from prometheus on LV-223 were genetically enchanced servants/warriors/guardians who fly ships and do military/scientific business on remote bases far from their planets, and If something occurs that might threaten their species they will do anything to prevent that from happening, even sacrificing themselves.

@dk its somewhere illegal.

chliAlien: Covenant ForumDavid Did Not Create the Xenomorph

BigDave: Yes, there are a lot of problems. The exact quotation concerning the petrified egg is “It lies as I found it, a supreme example of the engineers’ skill”, though. I suppose it’s possible to interpret this in different ways, and David could also be lying (although I fail to see why he would do that). David does lie later on, though, as he shows Oram the living eggs that he definitely has created with the horrible help of Shaw. He beckons Oram to have a closer look at one of the eggs and tells him “Perfectly safe, I assure you”.

But I would still say that there is somewhat of a discrepancy between the film and the novel, where the movie leans towards David being the creator of the xenomorph, and the novel that the engineers created it.

In a way, it might make sense that the engineers brought an egg which they had engineered in one of the many facilities on LV-223 to the temple on “Paradise” (they could perhaps have used abducted female humans to create them?)? LV-223 was the “science department” and the temple on “Paradise” is the sacred place where the cult and sacrifice is taking place (as you hint at BigDave) in order to bring forth the xenomorph when they needed it (war, for example)?

Also, in the temple ruin, David shows Oram stuffed xenomorphs which David says that he cannot (re-)create without more live specimens (this is where Oram fits in). Therefore, he cannot have created the stuffed ones?

But as you point out, BigDave, there are no murals or statues devoted to the xenomorph in the temple on “Paradise”. There are Buddha-like statues of offering outside the temple, though. A topic which I believe that you have explored?

I may be wrong but david recalls that the mutagen comes in various forms. the effect of the goo on the engineers may just be because this is a different form of the mutagen just simply designed to destroy what it touches.

ali81Alien: Covenant ForumIs David the xenomorph whisperer? Organic Matter Question:

the fact the both bishop and walter were attacked definitely suggests david has some other knowledge that gives him an advantage where the aliens r concerned. but I believe david simply used himself to carry and smuggle the embryos onto the covenant. I don't believe he is incubating or growing them inside himself as he lacks, imo, the nutrients required, as wev seen that the embryo takes these from their host to develop. he may well have placed the embryos inside himself when he learned of the covenant crew as his body temperature would sustain them in suspended animation but only for a short time until he got them onto the covenant and placed them in the required freezing chamber

He mentioned that the Neomorphs could be imprinted on him by blowing air on them, so, he is aware of the concept while working on his Protomorph.

BigDave I think your sig sums up nice and tidy like what you thought-

I hope that the only AWAKENING we are in for is FOX/RS wake up and learn from their mistakes.

At least there wasn't a Spinal Tap style two word review- "S#@t Sandwhich".

@dk

Ripley is a pretty cool name (but I'm not so found of Ellen). Daniels would be confusing because people would think it was Daniel or Danielle. Too bad we never learned Daniels' first name.

"Shaw" would make a pretty cool first name. Elizabeth Shaw was informally called "Ellie" which is also cute.

I think s/he'll be coming in March, but I have a doctor's appointment on the 17th to confirm.

@IRaptus

Lol, well, my husband makes a pretty compelling point. He said he doesn't want to explain to our child that a genocidal robot is the origin story of his name.

Actually, as tempting as it is, I guess I wouldn't want my child to embody either megalomania like David nor servility like Walter, so those might not be the best names.

But...maybe they can be the "working names" while the kids are in production...like how films have "working titles" lol.

@Facehuggers!

Thank you!!! Oh man, I love Bishop, he's awesome! But that would be a really confusing name for a Hindu kid to have, lol.

I think ultimately I'll give the child a traditional Vaishnava name then non-sequitoriously nick-name them "Newt" :)

If it is a female you could go with Senga. True story. I had an elderly patient by that name. She was an opera singer named Agnes. She decided flipping it around sounded more exotic.

VivisectedEngineerAlien: Covenant ForumIs David the xenomorph whisperer? Organic Matter Question:

Good question Roger55!

Xenomorphs usually aren't particularly interested in eating synthetics, but Bishop was pretty savagely attacked by the Xeno queen, which makes David's command over them pretty impressive.

I'm not sure what David has done to gain this control, but since he's the one engineering them, maybe coded something into their DNA which makes them less likely to attack synthetics? Maybe he communicates with them through pheromones? Or maybe it's just that, so far, none of them have had any incentive to attack him.

Also, I don't think he grew those embryos inside himself. He just grew them in his lab then hid them inside his body to sneak them on board the ship.

Why not in his pocket? Maybe he can maintain the correct incubation temperature for the embryos inside his body, or maybe he's just a weird dude and he thought that'd be a cool thing to do.

What if they are female twins? Ripley/Shaw, Ripley/Daniels? There are always the standards Eunice and Gertrude- they work great when they get around 70 years old. Gotta look to the future lol!

"Love the cap the one is wearing, looks like the Prometheus crew leather caps."

Maybe that's Fifield's missing cap! Here I thought Fifield elected not to wear one because he wanted to show off his bad-ass hair style, when really, his had slipped through a worm-hole and landed on this Engineer fellow's head!

Do you think while David was a  decapitated head he gave Shaw instructions on how to operate the Engineer ship?

Giving instruction for such a complicated task without being able to use any gestures sounds like some hellish team-building excersize, lol.

Why do their corpses seem intact when they those black growths instantly popping out of them during the CG goo bombing. Then when you see the set models/sculptures they just look like regular char broiled engineers with no insta-morph seasoning? Love the cap the one is wearing, looks like the Prometheus crew leather caps.
