agreed BigDave for sure. xenofanlv426 have you got an excerpt or short chapter you would like to share so we can add your story to our ever-growing collection of fan fictions?
A number of scenes was shot but not shown, some due to having shot alternative re-shoots, others were simply just committed due to pacing and limited run time at Box Office which one of the sacrifices in this manner was the Daniels and Jacob New York Apartment Scene.
Apparently there was 3 Alternative Endings...
Also a number of scenes where more Gory and Graphic and also prolonged Nudity (extended Shower Scene) that would not have made it into the Certification they was aiming for and so would have required a Cert 18
I will also assume we have a shot that explains what happened to the 2nd Neomorph... i feel those who have read the Novel and compared what is missing in the Movie could well have some idea of what kinds of scenes are cut
I will also assume some scenes will have extended versions, like the Weyland and David Scene i am willing to bet there was a longer version.
I'm looking forward to it! I really need more Alien fan fic in my life!!!
I am sure many on here will look forwards to your work ;)
I am not sure where RS will take Alien Awakening, he did mention he wanted to go for the War of the Worlds... down the line that is... i wondered before if this meant a Aliens vs AI vs Mankind (in all its corrupt corporate guises) kind of Flick.
But RS comments about the Engineers in the next one, gives us hope that maybe the Engineers will play a role in this, but it depends how this is handled as this could potentially Muddy the Waters of the Franchise, unless this War of the Worlds Scenario unfolds on a distant Colony or Planet that the Company simply performs a Cover Up on... It cant be a Xeno and Engineer threat on Earth or close by systems as this would go against the Story/Plot of Aliens to Alien 3
RS does have a habit of contradicting himself.. so on one hand he was not a fan of the Shoot-em-up movies... basically Aliens, Alien R and AVP Flicks... where we see a large number of Xenomorphs and a number of Humans with Weapons kicking Xenomorph ASS!
So it will be interesting to what kind of a flick Alien Awakens would be, as if it shows a number of Colonist infected and so 5-10 or more Xenomorphs on the Rampage with armed Colonist or a rescue mission/group of Military.. then this would step into that Shoot-em-up Action movie that it seems RS is not pleased of.
I would say Alien Awakening will likely take place on Origae-6, LV-223 or back on Paradise.. or another System that is related to the Engineers. If David does not go back to Paradise or LV-223 or another Engineer World that has the Black Goo, then all he has is those TWO Face Huggers... and its a case then of how do these Procreate.
I will ASSUME a group of Engineers arrive, take out David but then discover the Creation he has made and these Engineers would then consider taking these for their own Gain.. which proves to be a Hubris leading to the Space Jockey.
Looking again at that picture I'm not sure if that Engineer is fighting or leading the xenos. The sword, however, should be replaced by a flute and the soundtrack should include YMCA.
@Thoughts_Dreams
Indeed i think the Original Trilogy should also be left well alone, and i agree Alien R was a bit flawed and well it leaves a few problems as far as how to deal with Xenomorphs in the Alien Time Line.... we have to consider the company could not obtain any Xenomorphs from any other sources after the events of Alien 3... until they attempted to clone Ripley via DNA for Alien R... I guess they could have movies set between Alien 3 and Alien R but then they would have to show a movie where there would be nothing left to obtain of the Xenomorph after these movies unless they lead to a sequel..
What i am saying is a period between Alien 3 and Alien R (if they did movies between them) must reach a cut off point where the Xenomorph is no more, and thus gives the reasons for Cloning in Alien Resurrection.
Then we have movies set after Alien Resurrection where we have to wonder does Ripley 8 not Age? how do they follow that Story.
So it would be easier to De-canon Alien Resurrection for sure, Blomkamps Alien 5 which was also called Alien Awakening was to take Alien 3 and Alien R out of Canon to bring back Ripley. Who knows what FOX stance on this is... i think they could consider bringing Ripley back into the Franchise and RS even mentioned you could De-Age her Digitally.
But i do kind of wonder, if RS would be tempted to create his own set of ALIEN Movies, which include Prometheus and Alien Covenant, where RS may be tempted to continue with his own sequel to ALIEN which in effect rules Aliens out of the RS Franchise Canon.. I hope not..
I think Alien to Alien 3 are fine and have Ripley as dead from Alien 3 and explore other Human Characters.

The reason people get into heated arguments over fandoms is closely related to the reason people attend horror movies in the first place.
Not regrettably, most people's day to day lives in first world countries are paradisiacal compared to what we've evolved to deal with, so we have a vestigial urge to experience fright, disgust and enmity.
Only, we'd all prefer to experience those emotions in contexts where deep down, we know the threat is illusory.
Grown men like to defend and attack Batman and Superman because defending and attacking is part of human instinct.
If nothing of genuine importance to an individual is under real threat, we will take the luxury of forming a new sense of attachment or antipathy towards inconsequential things that we can attack and defend.
Just like going to horror movies, haunted houses, or amusement park rides. People enjoy loosing themselves in the moment and experiencing their range of emotions, and then stepping away and remembering that none of it was real in the first place.
See a prequel to prometheus: Engineers vs. Xenomorphs (without human, Millennium in the past.)
Fantastic art!
Though....If I fought some Xeno's I'd most certainly wear my Space Jockey helmet!
Kinda hoping David doesn't turn the 2,000 colonist into XENO's.
Rather have Zombie Fifields or some HORRIFIC Newborn type humans! Some "oops!" experiments.
Could David even control ONE Xeno?!
David "Okay...go after that human!", David points at running male.
Xeno '?!?'
David"NO!... Not ME! ....AAARGH!!"
David should return to LV223 and re-fill his supplies.
In returning to LV223 we can at least clear up having black goo and Juggenauts laying around.
Don't forget people I think it's inevitable we are getting a sequel no matter what pans out money-wise from here on out.
What I mean is if this move terribly underperformed Fox might of said it's cooked.
Its made a profit and it's like gambling.
Im sure Fox is that nking the next one may hit the jackpot.
There is always that possibility one of these ALIEN movies could be huge.
@joylitt That would be badass lol
thanks for the share colonialsoldier! I want that steelbook pack w/ Creatures of Alien Covenant!!!
Is there any more news on the Limited Edition Vinyl Soundtrack? The only places I could find it looked dodgy...
What if the rock is an alien version of amber, and what is inside is a fossilized creature. Something that has religious significance for the Engineers.
@Kethol
And where did those spore sacks come from?
Also, those motes look far too small to be tiny mosquitos. There's something that is not explained.
@Nathan Adler
The remarks are mid point.

"I always presumed it held the original form or the pathogen"
My apologies I had missed you believe it is an empty container. My problem with that is I can see elements of black and green within it as if it is frozen tissue. This for me is the dormant dead material that echoes the material that David extracts from a vial. The Deacon is part humanoid and therefore in death would contain elements of the humanoid catalyser and the introduced Xeno strain. The reason its green is for matters of presentation so you can see it and thematically the holographic key is also green as well as the vials.
On the matter of the dialogue freeze frame the movie Charlie looks at the mural, looks at the submerged elongated shape and says its just another tomb. Prometheus is so low on exposition dialogue every piece that is in their crunches out key back story much of which comes from David "in order to create first one must destroy" I see very few examples of dissembling elements of the narrative unlike Covenant David lies about the destruction about Shaw and in my view the Egg. Therefore my instinctive reaction which I had five years ago was wow this shape its like an Alien (if they didn't want that connection then why not leave an example of the sacrificial bowl which then connects as you would want directly with the catalyser from the opening frames an empty bowl which contained the catalyser) and when Charlie said its just another tomb "Bang the Alien related creature is buried here".
@Michelle Johnston: Can you please provide the link to the "over 7 minutes long" interview?
What doesn't make sense re: Prometheus, is that it reveals the Engineers intended to drop bacteriological drums of shit on us 2,000 years ago and yet Shaw's notes show they were still watching over us until 1,000AD (i.e. Toltec Temple of the Feathered Serpent, Xochicalco, Mexico and Chaco Canyon, New Mexico respectively)!?
@Kethol: Can you please provide the reference where "One of the designers said it was also a monument to science, art and religion"?
That is their acidic circulatory fluid.
The Target exclusive book looks like it's 200+ pages in the picture but it seems like they just put David's lab image on a blank book template rather than a picture of the actual book. See full size picture here:
https://target.scene7.com/is/image/Target/52521415?wid=3000&qlt=70&fmt=pjpeg
I'd be surprised if it was a big book with many pages for the package price of $28. Still, it might not be a bad deal.
auximenes, that's a good point! Although David introduced himself as, "I am David," he is still part of that android mindset, in which they are a collective entity/family. I would almost be willing to bet that you are right with that one!
There was a little bit of time between them escaping Planet 4 and before everything went down on the ship, so I am sure he could find what he needed. My theory is that, since he was Weyland's personal servant, he had unprecedented access to higher up codes, operations, etc.. Also, more simply, I would guess that David could have lifted that stuff straight from Walter after the fight. With that tech, I would assume that either of them can do that really quickly too. If Ridley and the writers truly went with David subduing Walter, cutting off his own hand, and changing clothes (as opposed to, like, switching bodies), my idea here isn't too crazy.
The problem I see with my theory is that the Wey-Yu merger may have provided some hoops for David to jump through with his access to higher up stuff, but it still works. Like I said, unprecedented access. The fact that David uses his own code to enter the colonists hypersleep area could support this idea.
Sherris: LMAO! Thanks
I also wonder of it is a sort of amber type, just like Capt Torgo says. Maybe the stone has some sort of DNA in it that were used to create Xenos or something similar. Doesn’t it pour out green slime out of the Xenos when they get shot in Aliens?
Yes it pours green out of an alien. If you pause the video (Aliens) at 1:00:19 into the movie you see a Xeno getting hit by a bullet. Some sort of yellow green slime pours out of it. Maybe it has got something to do with the green sacrificial stone to do since yellow and green are in the same kind of color scale? Compare it to how it is done in a photo editor program were yellow and green are close to each-other. Of course I can be totally mistaken but I find it to be a bit interesting. By the way, you also see that kind of slime when they try to remove the face-hugger from I think that his name was Kane in Alien.
I see why you are making that connection and think that the something-morph in the mural represents sacrifice, I just completely disagree with it. There are obvious sacrificial elements to the actions of the Engineers when they create, but that does not mean every symbol in the movie implies sacrifice. They also destroy.
The Christ figure in the Christ the Redeemer statue in Brazil is holding his arms out in the same manner, and he was sacrificed in that pose. But just because he is in that pose does not mean that statue is meant to convey his self sacrifice. His outstretched arms and open hands are meant to convey a welcoming symbol of peace, among other things. One of the designers said it was also a monument to science, art and religion. See the difference?
The only sacrificial elements I see in the mural are the face-hugged Engineers (if that is what they are) that are being used, or allowing themselves to be used, as incubators for the something-morphs.
"My problem with that is it does relate in any visual sense to the Urns and nor does it leak when the atmosphere changes or have any other dramatic value. But for me the compelling reason your wrong is there is nothing in the dialogue of Charlie to hint at any ambiguity and in the end stories are about visuals, actions and dialogue. "
I don't think it would leak because the material was removed long ago, but how do you know nothing leaked? It was only shown one time, very briefly. And why would it relate in a visual sense to the urns?
Also, I'm not sure what you are talking about regarding Charlie's dialogue. He never mentioned the emerald jem in the movie. No one did.
IndyFront:
Maybe, we'll see. What I'm afraid of is that it will focus too much on the Engineers and ignore the Xenos/monsters.
In order for a Engineer movie they need to focus on the human characters and make the Engineers interesting. They should make the Engineers closer to the Xenomorph, make them the creators of it or to make them the creators of something that the Xenos come from.
The connections should make sense while not being too obvious and make the human characters better.
Holy shit... what if the Hammerpedes were proto-facehuggers...
EDIT: It would make more sense too if the Trilobite was an attempt by the Engineers to replicate a preexisting chance organism produced naturally by the pathogen, and the Deacon was thus an imperfect replication of a naturally-occurring accelerated being/organism.
Well, if we do get a sequel it will probably be more about the Engineers, more like a "Prometheus 2" of sorts, I think. Scott will probably note how Prometheus made more than Covenant

You wrote:

Can you give some examples? You don’t have to if you don’t want to but what you wrote is interesting.
It is fine to be interested in movies and to discuss what ever about it I just don’t like when people get fanatical about it or when people just live for movies. There is a difference between having an interest and to be fanatical about something (like you live your life for that hobby).
Jem587:
Maybe, we'll see how many that are interested in buying it. I would like to see official statistics about it before I make any conclusion.
@Thoughts_Dreams ..It'll be over 300 million once Blu-ray and DVD sales come in
Thanks
I wonder if they will make the same mistake as they did with Prometheus when they cut many scenes that would have made the movie better (making more sense)? Maybe this depends on how much they have learned from their mistakes with Prometheus.
In other words, no director's cut at least until most of us buy the first wave of movies.
I don’t have a clue about the normal practice of when they release a movie as DVD’s or Blu-rays compared to when it has been released in the movie theaters so I won’t say anything about that. Having said this I don’t think that being emotional about something is very good when you are about to discuss what ever it might be because then it tends to become a mess.
Covenant isn’t fantastic and I don’t love it, but it is better compared to many other Alien related movies. I don’t see the point about spewing hate over a movie, I don’t think that it is worth to get that upset about it. At the same time, I think that it is hilarious that some people get so upset about movies so they do videos about it where it looks like the whole world is about to come to an end judging from their reactions. Go to Youtube to watch some reactions, it is totally bizarre.
Lawrence of Arabia has a point that it isn’t that bad to get 228 million dollars from a movie that costs 97 million to make.
@Godzilla: King of the Monsters
"I'll be looking forward to your next story! :)"
Uh oh! ...The cycle continues? Haha. Thanks! I can't make any guarantees this time though because I don't have any more story ideas in my head right now!
Yes, this is such a great community which I'm really glad to have found! Take your time, my friend! I'm really looking forward to reading more of your stories, especially "The Resolution of Walter" whenever they're ready! :D
Lol!!!
This should link to this news
http://www.alien-covenant.com/news/alien-covenant-dvd--blu-ray-details--release-date
Sherris, I have to say that I really like your pitch/synopsis, really wish Fox and Scott go with something similar to that.
If this was 230 million domestic; we will be in another installment territory at this time. Remember, the studio took in 36 million stateside and 1/3 from foreign receipts. That is about another 51 or 52 million. That amounts to about 88 million out of 97 million for its production budget. Mucho millions went into advertising that is not part of that 97 million. Merchandising is also a portion of what is being sold at retail. But I do not thing Alien toys are so big now and days lol With the hopes of Japan, money will come in from DVD/Blu-ray sales and on-demand. I do believe it will break even in the near future and profits will come years down the road. My buddy had me hysterical yesterday because it said he got away from some fan sites. People (actually grown-men) fighting over if Superman is better than Batman lol. He says people take fandom a little bit too seriously lol. And I do seem some of those types on this site.
There is some confusion developing here.
He was on the set of Covenants headroom when he made the statement to visiting journalists "if you think they made him (the Xenomorph) your dead wrong" he did not say who did.
However after the movie was released he has done multiple interviews one of which is over 7 minutes long which I just rewatched and he made the same point and finishes off by saying "its far more interesting" that David made the Xenomorphs rather than the Engineers and the reasoning is that having destroyed the Engineers (or so he thinks) he wants to destroy mankind who are not worthy for reasons he express's in Covenant.
Those conversations are not about mankind they revolve around Covenant and whom made the Xenomorphs.
@Indyfront
If you have seen Prometheus you will know the entire proposition is that mankind was seeded by the Engineers we share their DNA. They repeatedly visited us over ten of thousands of years taking an interest in our progress until they finally decided having created us they would redact us. So your guess is spot we are the creation of the Engineers the intergalactic space gardeners we are to use your words cousins.
@Kethol
I like your idea that the fused item in the alter is a receptacle for the catalyser. My problem with that is it does relate in any visual sense to the Urns and nor does it leak when the atmosphere changes or have any other dramatic value. But for me the compelling reason your wrong is there is nothing in the dialogue of Charlie to hint at any ambiguity and in the end stories are about visuals, actions and dialogue.
I must say you are the first person I have ever come across who fails to make the connection that the deacon the forerunner of the protomorph as Ridley describes the former, is not in a sacrificial pose. I have studied many artefacts, artistry of Judo/ Christian/ Hindu and even Moslem tradition and the idea a spreadeagled creature is embracing rather than crucificalo is outside of my experience.
We do know from both Damon and Ridley a key theme of Prometheus is sacrifice so to create a mural within that film that is not about sacrifice seems counter intuitive to me.
I would welcome some examples of religious iconography where your theory that it is an open handed gesture surrounded by the achievements. Also you should be aware the artist who made the mural indicated the surrounding elements should be viewed as Easter Eggs.
Idk why I imagine Walter asking the Engineer to carry him, like toddlers will and then rip off his head lol
Maybe some military guy or like you said, one of the Elders, anyway may I ask how you took the screenshots, asking for a friend ;)
Good news, thanks Ati.
As far as Japan goes, some of it depends on how many that liked Prometheus. If most of those that watched it were disappointed then it might be difficult but we will see about that.
Having a sequel to Alien Covenant is important otherwise it would feel like having a story where we would just know 2/3rds of it. They should at least do one more movie until we get to what happened in Alien.
I did what I could for them to do a sequel, I have watched it three times in the movie theater.
