4 Alien films are expected in the next decade. If they use all concepts in the next part there will be nothing left to show in later episodes. My expectations are low.

Probably will be like an open air museum of horrors, with many failed experiments, an extension of his lab from planet 4. I don't see him create something biomechanical, nothing of sorts was seen on planet 4.
Even the Deacon was not biomechanical like the Big Chap, so no idea were from the biomechanical traits.
Steven_Friedman, please forgive me!
Ok, the letter is legit. It is mentioned on Ridley Scott Creative Group Twitter page @RidleyScottCG with a link to Deadline.com.
The post is from 5:36 PM - 28 March 2019.

Thank you, Sir Ridley Scott!
I am relieved!
"You mention Amanda, I think that it is a little sad that they got to have Ripley-connections in a lot of things. Having a new character that is independent from those that came before should have been better in my opinion."
I agree with you in this point. I don't know how everyone else thinks about the idea that there should be a familial connection to the prequel series or to a reboot.
It feels like the destiny of the characters is predestined and nothing unpredictable might happen. The franchise is always somehow unpredictable, but telling the story of the ancestors and the descendants of Ripley makes it a family saga like Star Wars. The Star Wars original films are about the Skywalker family. That makes sense because it has such an impact on the universe. Applying that to the Alien franchise makes it foreseeable and it feels like the center is of it is the Ripley family. But we'll see how things get connected. Maybe the Covenant 2 could handle things so that there is just a slight hint or a minor appearance of a ancestor of Ripley.
The key traits of the franchise:
1. Exploration (expeditions to remote locations)
2. Colonization (terra-forming of planets, construction of infrastructure in space)
3. Conquest (collision with other life-forms or cultures)
WHAT KIND of a World David would create?
A plain and simple one.

The HR Giger Aesthetic illustrates the home world of the Xenos. A journey to their world may be the subject of a later episode.

I would rather face the Xenomorphs than Ridley Scott's lawyers.
Uh oh, I wrote a looooooooooooooooooooooong comment. But it was all erased.
So, I will be brief.
I don't have a problem with a David's world and his experiments. No doubt - it will be interesting. But just a part of a film. Setting. Background.
And I don't understand how David and biomechanics can be related. David are synthetic organism - artificial organic. He just doesn't have "it" for a biomechanical elements. But the Last Engineer - has it. Yesterday I got figure of the Engineer and this the second cool staff after original Big Chap. And Engineers can be related with Derelict's xenomorphs. So I think you are right when you talks about LV-223.
And if David's world in any case will have a biomechanical aesthetic (or get it after infestation) - it will be a wet dream movie. ;)
I think I'm being paranoid. This happens when things seem just too good...
The letters look the same except the second one looks like it was filtered or processed somehow.
It would be a stupid move to commit a felony with the entire world seeing it.
My money is on that this is legit.
Siggy's Twitter post is legit, no doubt about it.
Mr. Cuervo's post is also legit. My question is if the letter he received is indeed from Ridley Scott. I hope it is.
Deadline used that other post and everybody took it as legit from Deadline. Including myself.
I am sure Sir Ridley Scott will bring light into this.
That SUCKS! Two take aways though:
1- Scott Free can probably sue the shit out of this joker if this is the case. I would not want to be on the receiving end of RS and his legal team. Forgery is a felony.
2. Siggy's Twitter post is legit.....unless you believe in the fake manipulated news camp.
It seems Mr. Perfecto Cuervo received the letter from Ridley Scott, that is clearly a photo of a printed letter:

What bothered me is the tweet below, which is the letter in electronic format, not the same photo as Mr. Cuervo's:

Forgive me if I am wrong, I wish so badly to be wrong this time.
I am OK with continuing with David- except it centers on one character too much. On the other hand, the Quadrilogy centered on Ellen, so who is to say. Is David the new Ellen in that regard? David is certainly an interesting and complex character.
The Alien should have a role but it doesn't need to be the main thing. It is called Alien after all.
Nice Spot..... could be nothing but who knows...
That twitter page belongs to a Joker!
I am dying here!
Anybody with a better internet than me can please check if Ridley Scott's letter is not a HOAX?
I noticed the bird from Scott Free logo is different and the letter was first posted here.
Although it was spread with enthusiasm across the internet, like I did myself, I did not find it in any Ridley Scott official page.
BigDave It feels like something is brewing and this play may have forced someone's hand.
Siggy also looks and motions to her left when mentioning Cameron- as if he was sitting there.
BigDave In the video, notice when she mentions Cameron, she glances and sort of points to her left- as if JC was there.
Indeed DK her Video is HERE
Its interesting as she hinted the ALIEN has NOT gone away, is that a indication that something is HAPPENING behind the Scenes?
Only Time will TELL... but i suspect its more chance of seeing a Blomkamp Inspired ALIEN movie... I am sure that Emma Watts was championing for the Prequels to be Finished though.... just as soon as they GOT the right Story!

BigDave "its nice to see it gaining recognition?"
It has received both props and endorsements from the very top- Sir Scott and Mrs. Weaver! You cannot get any better than that.
Well its nice to see it gaining recognition... the Alien 6 Short Fan Films would also be interesting, Disney can gauge how much interest there would be in a Franchise..
with movies Budget can make a difference though! Mainly in Terms of Space Scenes/Technology and Special Effects for any Aliens/Technology.
For example you can see the Inferior Xenomorph Quality between the AVP Movies. The Predators look Good in both because they dont require as much effort due to the Appearance/Biology of the Humanoid Hunters. And so Engineers would also not be that Expensive either.
TV Series would be better... again depend on Budget!
$8M Per Episode would get you Star Trek TV Series like Budget to play with, where as a $1M Per Episode would get you a Dr Who like Budget, and so i think something in the Middle could do some Justice to the Franchise.
I just have a feeling Disney would not want to invest more than $50M be that a Movie or a 8-12 Episode TV Show.
I think a 6 Episode TV show would be ideal to then Gauge if there would be enough Interest/Risk to continue with more or move onto a Movie.
"perhaps that could explain the more primitive nature of the Engineer population of Planet 4."
AND
"I don't think the song was there by accident. It seems to suggest something about origins."
There is a bit to read into that, when we also consider the Court Yard and throw some Concepts in... but i think it would be a LONG post that would be a bit off topic. We seem to be seeing a Reoccurring Theme of Creation, Sub-Creation and Hubris when your Creation is made more Superior/Perfect and what happens when they deem themselves superior and more worthy than their Creator. And it appears this Theme would continue with Alien Covenants sequel... well maybe that was the Plan.
@LETO
Totally agree... such Technology as far as Storms could make it hard to detect whats on the Surface, what Continents are there, how much Water maybe... certainly hide any signs of Life or Civilization.
But to HIDE a whole Planet is a Stretch!
The Problem arises by Virtue of having a Direct Prequel Plot, where you have to introduce Humans... and so having Planet 4 being closer to Home is the Convenience, and so then they had to come up with a Plot to WHY such a World as Fertile as our own (before Davids Bombardment) has simply never been detected...
Having a World Much Further becomes a Problem... because if the Set-Up is David Unleashes Hell on Paradise, Created his Proto-Xeno, then the Covenant Ship and Crew come in and will play a part in the Continuation of the Xenomorph... where we are looking at 2-3 Movies before we arrive to ALIEN.
Then with a 17 year Time-Frame... making the Engineers World closer to home was a Necessity/Convenience which meant they then have to come up with a Reason why the Engineers World was never detected.
The Plot Idea i had as far as where David and Shaw would go, would have NOT had to worry about such things because it was Thousands of Light Years away! What about Humans? Well then we ask is Earth the only Place where Humans had been seeded by the Engineers?
FOX and Co.... had determined that Fans wanted Xenomorphs... and i agree they should also have looked at the other complaints about Prometheus...
Alien Covenant proved that throwing the Xenomorph back in and going a Origins Route, was still not enough... the Marketing Also did not drive masses to go and see the Movie before Word of Mouth got around about the Plot and how again the Characters and some Plot Points where again POOR.
But to be fair, its hard to get things Perfect! Try as they May... I had seen all the ALIEN Movies a few weeks ago, and to be honest having seen some other movies with Good Characters, the Franchise just is NOT a Masterpiece of Characters and Acting... But certainly the First 3 Movies were Fine... after that, well the Characters never worked for me.
By the Time i got to Alien Resurrection, you just never cared for any of them... there was NO-ONE to Sympathize with maybe Call, but thats it... Ripley 8 nope because it was getting Tiresome (IMO) and as she was a Hybrid she just seemed to not draw much of a Care, i was not Feeling for her, because she just appeared to be well like a Super Hero. i think the Hybrid Angle for me had taken her Humanity away a bit and i saw more Humanity in Call. The other Good Guys were just a bunch of Mercenaries and i had no connection to what happened to them, you knew they was just going to be Fodder and so your like MEH! i actually felt more of a connection for some of Alien Covenants Cast (Oram, Karine, Lope and Faris and Rosenthal to a degree and the rest was like MEH!
I was not even attached to Tennessee or Daniels and if they got killed i would be like.. oh crap what a Twist No Survivors but have Little Care for them...
Prometheus had same problems... you just never Rooted for anyone, Vickers and Janek maybe... you could see a more Solid Character in those TWO, the rest your like MEH!
The AVP Movies also similar, the 2nd one... well thats Totally Forgettable...
so yeah its not Easy to Pull Off of Characters that work, but it could have been done better than we had... Another Good Example would be the THING when comparing the First to the Prequel...
REGARDING THE SET UP....
I think Disney/FOX have to bare in mind, that Fans are going to expect Xenomorphs to a Degree, and the Set-Up and Motives of David do seem to point to him having only One Agenda as far as what he would Create... The Advent Viral even further pushing us towards that.
Not many fans are going to be aware to Ridley Scotts comments about AI and NOT being about the Xenomorph, and so by Virtue of Carrying the ALIEN Prefix... they are setting the Fans up for Disappointment, if the Plans do not keep some ALIEN connection as far as DNA of the Xenomorph and Engineers.
They have to find a Balance, but trying to Balance stuff out is a bit restrictive depending on the Running Time. Alien Covenant is Testament to that, and why some Sacrifices had to be made (Engineer/Dr Shaw Screen time or Lack Of).
I Totally Agree about O'Bannon, we have to introduce some elements of his ideas that had not been used yet. The Fresco in Prometheus could allude to something the Engineers Encountered that they then tried to exploit its Traits and Engineer a whole manner of Horrors from.
Alien Engineers it appears the Organism that infects Holloway fits the similar bill.... but these dont come across as Intelligent to me.... but some more Basic Xeno/Neo-Morph like Organism.
The Engineers just were not ALIEN enough to WOW Fans, and maybe they need to introduce another Species that could be used as a Origin to the Engineers Bio-Technology and Aesthetic of the Xenomorph and Derelict... introduce another Intelligent Species that is very ALIEN. And maybe taking ideas of WHO the Starbeast Long Lost species where could be a Starting Point.
I wonder if the idea was that Davids Xenomorph, Merges with Davids Engineered Humans to Create Something that then Merges with David to become the Xenomorph in ALIEN is something they are considering?
For me this would make it all about David... and i think thats a mistake.
Looks like Siggy approves and Sir Ridley has offered financial assistance for an encore! check out daliens thread for updates http://www.alien-covenant.com/topic/48630
It's going to happen!
I think regarding the Disappointment, i was referring mainly to Alien Covenants Disappointment and i think it came as a bit of a Shock to FOX as they felt with the more Direct Path to ALIEN and giving the Xenomorph Origins and introducing the Xenomorph they had expected that THIS would surely have more interest than Prometheus had done.
I think maybe with Prometheus, some fans had just lost interest in the direction taking and maybe decided to NOT bother with Alien Covenant. As i also felt the Box Office would had been better, and its not like Loads had seen the Movie before and during its first few days of release and so having a BAD word going around would have been Unlikely to have affected the Box Office.
Thoughts_Dreams had also mentioned that a lot of Criticism for Prometheus was the Characters and some of the Choices they made, which indeed is True the execution of the Characters was not great, but saying that when was they any Good in a Alien Movie? I think Alien 3 but after that there was not much Good Characters or uses for them..
But when Prometheus was being worked on, and the Trailers came out i think a lot of the Fans would have Expected the Movie to have had more Xenomorph Connections and Clues, not everyone was going to expect Eggs, Face Huggers and Xenomorphs running around like in Aliens or Alien Resurrection, but they certainly expected more than what we got in Prometheus, and the same was regarding any clues to the Eggs Origins.
I had studied the Trailers and kept up to date with the lead up to Prometheus and after i First Saw it even i thought it would have had more of a ALIENY vibe. I did not expect to see actual Xenomorphs, or the Eggs getting on the Derelict, but i thought the clues to the connections would not be as VAGUE as what we got, and also i felt the Xenomorph Related Scenes were just not enough.. But i certainly was not expecting a ALIEN Movie.
But i expected more than we got, some would have expected even more and some would have wanted Xenomorphs and a Direct Answer to the Origins.
5 people i personally know who had seen Prometheus the First Time were Expecting MUCH more, 3 said HOW THE FECK does this connect to Alien? 2 saw connections but felt the movie was Misleading as far as Expectations and Trailer.
I think those at FOX had concluded that having a more ALIENY movie with Answers and Xenomorphs would have pleased Fans more, i think in Part Blomkamps Alien 5 leak had a lot to do with that, as it seemed Fans appeared to be more Excited about that rather than a Prometheus 2 to follow Dr Shaw and David to get her Answers.
I think this is WHY we ended up with Alien Covenant... but i agree that NOT having any Xenomorphs was not the Main Problem with Prometheus, having them would not have made a Good Movie if it was not well written or executed and Alien Covenant can stand Testament to that.
I think they are in a Pickle Now... because they may be thinking.... OK so we kept the Character that had the most Positive Comments about (David) we introduced the Xenomorph again, and are making a series of Prequels that will Steer to ALIEN rather than Steer Away.... what more do the Fans Want?
So yeah i think they are now having to ask many Questions.. trying to wonder what went so wrong!
Looking at a Prequel, Fans are expecting it to be a ALIEN Prequel Series, and what was ALIEN? The Space Jockey and its Cargo.... The First Attempt was not enough Xenomorph or Cargo than was needed, in Hindsight, the second attempt was not enough about the Engineers/Space Jockey.
The Prequels were about Creation and Rebellion and Hubris in part..... but it appeared that these are being played from the POV of David and so it appears that Foremost its a David's Journey... where the Engineers and Xenomorph are just Background FLUFF!
Its set up to revolve around David, and i think thats ok but they cant OVERDO IT.. i feel this is something many more Fans are LESS interested in.
Your NEVER going to please every fan.... but i think where we are now as far as the Aftermath of Alien Covenant, i think its going to be very tricky to get back on track and please every kind of Fan.... or even come close.
After seeing your last post, dk, I changed my mind.
Mrs. Weaver sure looks like she can handle a couple of xenomorphs.
So, not against Ripley in a future Alien film.
Thanks again, dk.
They look pretty intense.
Alone
Containment
Harvest
Night Shift
Ore
Specimen
Thanks dk.
I hope Ingeniero will grab some stills from it and post them here.
Can't watch the teaser.
Looks pretty good
Let me know how is the red band trailer. I can't see it, poor internet connection.
New red band teaser for the six shorts:
And the chances for all of us to see the play are real.
Bravo to Perfecto Cuervo, Steven Defendini and to all the the actors from Alien: The Play, whom you can see in Ingeniero's related thread here.
I don't think the faculty or students will sleep tonight. That is just beautiful!
