These do appear like some of the other Huante Concepts for Alien 5, i am not sure i am a massive Fan of the Traditional Looking Xenomorphs.. only having extra Limbs and Heads concepts.

I preferred most of the Davids Experiments Concepts from Alien Covenant.  But he Plot Idea of Experimenting on the Xenomorph i feel is a Decent one... while similar to Alien Resurrection Plot...

seeing a Company Advance more than they did in Alien Resurrection and come up with some Experiments like David did in Alien Covenant would be interesting.... but such a ALIEN 5 Does-Not (and indeed Originally Did-Not) have to bring back Ripley and IGNORE Alien 3

I think its a interesting piece or work, its nicely done..

But i am GLAD we never had such a thing in the Movie, it would just be too much a Nod to Camerons ALIENS and make Dr Shaw the First Xenomorph Queen, in a way she would resemble the Camerons Queen too much.

I much prefer her to be seen connected to some Bio-Mechanical Device, and Harvested for her Eggs.

Interesting Break down of the Process of Changes.... It surely would be interesting to see some of those Earlier Drafts!

I had someone who claimed to be have knowledge of the Project but was Cryptic from February 2015, who passed onto someone  i know information regarding the supposed October 2014 Drafts....  they claimed on the Contrary  that the movie would feature Monsters... it just would not Directly Link to ALIEN but by Virtue of what would be shown we would get a better understanding into WHY and HOW the Xenomorph came to be.   They claimed it would Feature TWO Monsters, both we could trace some links to the Xenomorph but both are NOT Xenomorphs...  One of these would be a Creation by David... and it was indicated he USED Dr Shaw to obtain this....  they claimed her ROLE was Small but IMPORTANT.. they also gave other information which included that there would be more than ONE David but to not expect a Platoon of Synthetics.

It really would be interesting to see some of those Prior to 2015 Drafts come to light....  as it does seem in part at some earlier point maybe Dr Shaws role would be reduced?

But even looking at what we GOT!

From the Moment David was recovered by Dr Shaw, until the Moment of say where David had Finished his Experiments, and was awaiting the Arrival of others to this place... we have a series of Events, that certainly would Deserve a Novel.

I have interpreted a number of ways that i feel things may have gone down... which i would gladly share again on here...  certainly would revolve around Dr Shaw and David before things go to POT.... Because in Part this Aspect

"So they end up going to the city and that’s when David looks at her and tells that story ‘Do you trust me, do you trust that I love you and everything I’m going to do from this point on is because of you and that’s all to protect you’…she looks at him and says ‘Okay, yes I do’ so then he turns around and kills all the Engineers on the planet. It’s his own twisted way of vengeance for her, he kills the planet. She is like ‘Hey, I wanted to talk to these people’ but too late the whole planet is polluted now and everyone on the planet dies."

Is not really the picture i got, i would certainly think David would have left her in Cryo-sleep.. Bombarded the Engineers, then gave her a Reason for WHY it happened.

He would then convince Dr Shaw she has to remain on the Juggernaught due to contamination.... and David would come and go to her, bringing her things to survive...  which eventually she would Question... how is he able to get me Food/Drink if this World is so badly infected.... She grows Tired, Lonely and starts to Question what David has said.

She then ventures out and discovers... that actually she would not DIE... then she stumbles on David in his Lab Carrying out Horrific Experiments...  does she discover Living or Barely Living Engineer Females and Infants?

Whatever... i feel she makes a Discovery, that means David is lying to her... she is shocked at some of the Horrific things David is doing, this is WHEN he gives her his explanation... and offers Dr Shaw the reason is he is trying to Create a New Paradise for Dr Shaw and that he CAN allow her to have Children as he was trying to figure out HOW he can FIX her inability to have Traditional Fetus....

Dr Shaw Rejects this, and she runs for her Life!

This is WHEN things go to POT for their Relationship.... well this is how i would fill the GAPS in...

To Continue with the above...

Regarding some Disappointment/Blame on HOW they threw Dr Shaw under the Bus...

We maybe need to UNDERSTAND the Complexity that the Cliff-Hanger for Prometheus had Set-Up... (They are off to the Planet of the Engineers, to meet these beings who are Not Gods, Not in the Traditional Sense, and Far from Benevolent but David is bringing HELL with him... what happens when the Black Goo infects a God or a Machine).

So before we have Dr Shaw get her Answers or Not and HOW this would go down.  A lot would depend as i discussed here after Prometheus... on How-many Engineers are on Paradise and How they would view Dr Shaw and David turning up.

We also have to consider WOULD a movie where we have a Dynamic between Dr Shaw and David on screen like the Crossing, we have to ask would a 40 Min Version of that be something most Fans would want too see?

After this we then would have to Factor in HOW-MANY of our Engineers would be on Paradise and how welcoming they would be to David and Dr Shaw... and so how would any interaction take place between them and a Handful of Would be GODS... or Hundreds or Thousands...

So we get to this PART and we are what a Hour into the Movie then what happens next takes up 30-40 Minutes...

Which could be explored in a number of ways depending on How-Many Engineers there are and How they feel about Unwanted Guests....   then we would have to ask HOW do they pull off the Dialect?    David Translating to Dr Shaw like some Extended David, Weyland and Engineer Scene?

Then comes the BIG one.. can a movie work like this with LITTLE/NO Human Characters (other than Dr Shaw)... so then its HOW do we introduce more Characters.... The Covenant Colonist is WHAT they chose.

But you imagine at this point if the Movie went a bit like above.... would adding a 1Hr 30 Min Plot, onto the Beginning of Alien Covenant had worked?   They maybe would have had to have the Covenant Arrive at the Final Act... and we END with the Lander Setting off to the Surface...

Then this is where the 3rd movie (Alien Covenant) takes off... unless we had some 3 Hour + Movie.

So when we see the important thing was to give us a Movie that Sets-Up a few sequels to link to ALIEN, where they are going to introduce the Xenomorph, keep some of the Themes but base them around David... and have to introduce Humans so they are placed in this Jeopardy of the Xenomorph, and threat of its Creator David..

Then we can see WHY the Engineers/Dr Shaw had to be by-passed.  Alien Covenant was already trying to CRAM so much into under 2 hours (hence Quicker Gestation/Growth Rates of the Xenomorphs) and to add a longer Scene of Dr Shaw and Engineers would have added about 60-90 Min onto the Movie.  And would have been trying to ADD too much.

I had mentioned on here a few times way in the past, and after Alien Covenant that there was a WAY they could have introduced Human Characters.. without having to go the Covenant Colonist Route...   and had interaction with Dr Shaw, David, some Engineers and Humans...  that would have been a little bit like what Raised by Wolves would likely cover.  (Humans Raised by Superior Beings, to follow a certain Life/Path that gets Interrupted/Corrupted by the Arrival of other Humans who would raise QUESTIONS for the occupants of said WORLD.

The ideas i had would have worked... because they would have answered WHY would the Engineers Put so much Effort into Mankind who had Not-Pleased the Gods... to then Destroy them....  Particularly if its Knowledge/Free-will that lead to this...

so WHY did God NOT destroy all of Mankind?

Why did he Grant Noah and his Family a way out?  So we could consider would the Engineers NOT take some Humans or Children and Raise them on another Place and Leave Earth to ROT?

Or even IF not... surely Earth was not the ONLY place that had Humans or Close Relations in the Galaxy... Earth was surely not the only place the Engineers Seeded...  So indeed there was ways to introduce Humans, without having to make The Engineers Home-world close to Earth for the sake of PLOT convenience (how in 28 years we had to get from Prometheus to Alien and introduce Humans).

I think its easy to jump on Alien Covenant and blame this and that, i think with Ridley Scott a thing to remember is that FOX call the shots... if they said RIGHT.. Prometheus 2 needs to be more Alieny, we want Queens and Ripley Connections... and RS was like "No Feckin Way" we still need to remember that THEY (FOX) had the Final Say and they could simply REPLACE the Director, so RS had to come back and agree and make some compromises, from his Interviews it does appear that RS was not 100% happy with the Direction of Alien Covenant, but he made some compromises as long as some of his ideas could be kept.. So he gave the Fans the $"%$^% Aliens.... but he wanted to keep some of his Creation/Rebellion themes and felt placing David as the Creator carried his themes, but it could be a BIG Finger to those who wanted the Xenomorph Back!

Saying that i feel RS was quite a YES-MAN so that he could be kept at least on the Project, he seemed Happy with Alien Engineers, but FOX wanted to TONE-DOWN the Xenomorph Elements and RS appeared pleased with that... he seemed to after Alien Covenant... appear to be in favor of the Chronological Path to take us to ALIEN and not Steer-Way as planned at First.... but then in latter Interviews (after AC disappointed) he appeared to be indicating he was not a Fan of some of the Changes.

I think we have to remember that the Writers would have to report back to RS, so you have to wonder if he came up and said that IDEA is utter Pants... Change it... would that be a decisive move?  I suspect that some at FOX would also be part of the Proof Reading the Writing Process and have a lot of their INPUT into how things progressed.  So while the Status Quo would be to SET-UP a set of Prequels that would Connect to ALIEN and direct us to how the Xenomorph came to be...   We still have to look at the Execution of the Ideas/Route they had taken... which was Flawed and Ask who is really to Blame?  Harper? Logan?  Ridley Scott?  but certainly those at FOX would have the Largest Part to Play as they would be the ONES to Green Light each phase of the Writing Process... I assume that is.

This is a interesting Interview, the other week there was a post by someone on here who claimed they read about Dr Shaw being in hiding from David... i mentioned i have never seen any such draft, and wondered if it was a case of taking into account something from one of the Set Reports that came out during the release of Alien  Covenant, where some reporters had seen a place where Dr Shaw seemed to be HELD UP and they assumed was she in hiding from David.

So this Carlos Huante Interview is interesting and does indeed show us that in a Earlier Draft we had Dr Shaw trying to Hide Away from David.

I am a bit relieved that the Image in the Topic is NOT any work by Huante, and only Fan-Art.. when i saw this Topic and looked at that Image i was like PLEASE dont say that was the Original Plan LOL  (The work is a Good Effort but i just dont think that would have been Good.. its maybe much more what a Cameron would have in mind though!).

Regarding the ALIENS kinda Prequel...  i assume this appears to be something prior to Alien Engineers, well that draft by Jon Spaights, as while that was more Alieny and Shooty it was not quite a Aliens... But then he could have been talking about Alien Engineers, and the NEW draft being Lindeloffs Paradise.

In HINDSIGHT... the First Prequel would have fared better if it had less Ambiguity than Prometheus and had a few more of the Action-Like Scenes from Alien Engineers.. a 60% Prometheus, 20% Alien Engineers and 20% Filler/Merger Material would have given a better Platform to please the Grumbled Aliens Fans and then allowed the Sequel to go off and do its own thing... and not U-Turn to Spoon Feed/Please Fanboys.

I think the genetic tampering fits very well within the universe. David was able to mess around with their genetics, so why not the company? These concepts look alright, even though I'm not a hundred percent sold on them. They look a little too cartoon-y, especially the centipede alien with the flexible tongue. It kinda looks like it is going to sing us a song! ("Hello my baby, hello my honey" :D )

@ignorantGuy  I am of the opinion the prologue footage of Shaw and David should have been in the actual movie. I feel the same way about the Blade Runner 2049 Dave Bautista short, "Nowhere to Run, 2048". Their inclusion would have made both movies so much better.

123EngineerAlien: Romulus 2 NewsEarly Alien: Covenant script kept Elizabeth Shaw alive and part of the story

It was a huge disappointment that Shaw wasn't alive in the film. I read in the artbook of the film I think that one of the reasons of killing her off-screen instead of in the film itself was that it made it all more scary, intimidating, hazardous... Somehow true, but it would be still better to see her on screen. If it would end so brutal and disturbing, there should have been a more explicit implication at the end of Prometheus. The music, the visuals, the tone and atmosphere when Shaw and David left LV-226 with the Juggernaut implicated an adventurous atmosphere for the sequel... A little bit misleading... I think. Maybe the expectations of the audience were mislead by this.

It is sci-fi so they could still bring her back. The engineers who arrive at their devastated homeplanet could bring Shaw back to life. Not as a human, but as half-engineer half-human...

This is old news.

Svanya Wasn't you who said right after the release of Covenant, that Shaw was the excess fat needed to be removed for the movie to be more lean?

Lone Why can't I blame RS for not having a clear plan and sticking to it? But what I truly blame is Force Awakenings and the like who made nostalgia so profitable. Without it we could get something new aside Ripleys and Sarah Connors.

Oh boy, a lot of people are going to read “When we met, I had a script in my hand and it was not good. It would have been like Aliens, like an Aliens movie it wasn’t Alien it would have been an Aliens film” & freak out, because that’s the type of movie they would have wanted Prometheus to be!

I’m with Carlos. It’s a pity that Shaw was relegated to being nothing more than a museum exhibit. I recall an early interview with Ridley where he said that the Prometheus sequel would have 2 parallel stories, the Shaw-David angle set against what would become the colonisation mission. It would have been great to have Shaw save the Covenant crew, through sacrificing herself. That would have been very fitting.

Shaw was the main human character, she was on a quest for answers from the Engineer makers. I wouldn’t have had a problem with her eventual demise or becoming a Giger-inspired birthing machine. The way in which she was virtually completely removed from the sequel was shocking. It’s no wonder many people are unsatisfied with Covenant, it never followed through on Shaw’s quest, nor the Engineers or their hierarchy.

When are people finally going to stop blaming Ridley?

As much as I like covenant, it would have been a better movie if Shaw was kept alive, I really liked her character. Similar to how I imagined it in one of my threads. Still, it saddens me how the studio interferes and everyone blames Ridley.

Same. I was so disappointed to see Shaw underutilized in the sequel. Especially after her build up at the end of Prometheus. I was hoping she would have been the next Ripley, in a sense. She had more ferocity than Daniels, imo.

Until something interesting happens, I am currently reading the Alien Covenant - Origins prequel novel. It's quite interesting though. I can recommend it. The next book will be the film's novelization.

I also read the fire and stone comic series and already own the life and death series. But what happens after that? What are you reading or watching about the series?

Regarding the Queen statement by David, i think its possible that this would not be a Traditional Xenomorph Queen.  But who knows... it appears the Set-Up seemed to indicate a certain PATH... but then RS comments about the Sequel seemed to indicate this would not be the case (wont be about the Xenomorph).

I certainly think if we continue with Alien Franchise movies they have to introduce more variation than Traditional Looking Queens, Eggs and Xenomorphs... and some of Blomkamps Ideas do show us Hybrids and attempts to Weaponize/Engineer the Xenomorphs. so that would be a bit different to what say a Alien Resurrection, Aliens and AVP movies did.

Alien Resurrection did however cover such things... and offered us Hybrids.

Regarding ALIEN-DAY this years is a BIG ONE.. the 40th Anniversary and so IF they have anything planned as far as the Franchise, then this date (26th April 2019) would be the ideal date to drop information/teasers.

Surely Disney have had enough time to consider the viability of the Franchise, i think they see potential in its many Mediums...   the Question is are MOVIES seen as viable to them?

"I am also very intrigued by this storyline. What will happen to the colonists? What are Davids plans?"

This was a interesting thing to ponder, and some have looked into Ridley Scotts comments and looked at Alien Covenant and assume David will head to LV-426 and turn those Colonist into Xenomorphs...

However RS has said the Next movie would NOT be about the Xenomorph, but AI and what kind of World David would Create, which some may think it must be just about David and his Creations or the AI aspect must mean more Davids.

But i interpret it as though he would be going to Origae-6 which means they wont get there until the year 2112 and so we have 10 years to pass by from this point until the Nostromo arrives at LV-426...   looking at the Raised by Wolves plot i think this could have been in part, plans for Alien Covenants sequel....   But 10 years to raise Children is not a long time, before we have to arrive at the Derelict.

However Engineered Embryos could be modified to have Greatly Increased Growth Rates... like we see in a number of movies that deal with Clones.   So i speculate David would have a Colony of Engineered Children on Origae-6 before a Human Ship arrives and this causes problems... then i feel a Engineer Ship and Weyland-Yutani Military/Science Ship arrive at the Final Act.

Then things go to POT! have to bare in mind that RS had said there would be 2-3 more movies after Alien Covenant before we arrive at ALIEN.

BigDaveAlien: Covenant ForumStar Children (Evolutionary Step of Mankind).

Indeed many of the Elongated Head Concepts are from the effects of the Black Goo, there was a few Engineer Concepts from Prometheus/Alien Engineers where our Engineers where depicted as having more Elongated Heads at some of the Conceptual Stages of Design, some also that lacked any External Ear Structure.

I was drawn to the Potential for David to Engineer his own Humanoids from Ridely Scotts comments about the sequel to Alien Covenant, that would NOT be about the Xenomorph, and would be about AI and what KIND of a World David would create.  Considering that he also went on to mention that Replicants are AI too, means we are not just talking about Robots/Synthetics.

So i was wondering if David would be creating something, that would not be his Xenomorphs, and looking at some of the comments that David had made "if we are kind, it would be a kind World" to Daniels...   Then i do think that Genetically Altering the Human Embryos would constitute to a kind of AI (Artificially Created/Augmented)

If David does this, then we have to wonder if he would also like to incorporate traits from the Xenomorph into his experiments.  So maybe a Elongated Head could allow for a different Brain/Organs that could aid in some of the kinds of Receptive/Communication elements of the Xenomorphs Brain.

This is a interesting Concept to look at, which seems to indicate mainly one of TWO things... are those Humanoids in the Background being Farmed for Embryos for use for Davids Experiments?   But we could also ask are those Humanoids grown from those Embryos.

We do see David having some kind of Genocidal outlook towards the Engineers and Mankind, but maybe that would not rule out him trying to CREATE his own Enhanced Humans.

When i look at Ridley Scotts  TV Series Raised by Wolves, it does make me wonder if some of this Plot, is what he in part had planned for Origae-6 and David..   and so David raising Children could be interesting in itself... when we add the AI aspect that the movie was supposed to be about, i think the AI aspect would be in the form of Artificially Modifying those Embryos.

As for the Adult Colonist, maybe he needs a number to Build the Colony, and then indeed i think potentially he would then have other PLANS for them...

The elongated head concept was originally meant to show the effects of the black pathogen metamorphizing an engineer into a Xenomorph; essentially a re-realizing of what was originally intended to be Fifield's transformed state in Prometheus when he attacks the Prometheus' hangar bay.

I believe this concept of a Xenomorph being born from the metamorphization of a human (or otherwise) host, would be an interesting way to show the adaptive traits of the Xenomorph and its reproduction, as already explored in Prometheus/Alien: Covenant.

Also, considering Davids genocidal feelings towards humankind I struggle to believe he would use the 2000 colonists of the USSCS Covenant for anything more than raw materials and fodder for the organism he re-created on the Engineer Sanctuary Planet (Planet 4).

Yes, I didn't think of that. The Queen is was always a driving force in the films. It wasn't that obvious because the queen stays mainly in the background and gets revealed in the last act or late in the story.

As already teased, we might see a queen in the sequel to Covenant. It was already teased in some short clips. She probably gets created by David or maybe evolves from itself which is unlikely and is revealed later in the film.

I am looking forward to Alien Day. Hopefully we get an update on the sequel...

GavinAlien: Covenant ForumTraits of the franchise

Speaking of "Traits of the Franchise", I find it interesting that you didn't include probably two of the more prevalent traits of the franchise which stifled the franchise and contributed heavily to its demise...

#1 - Ripley must not die

#2 - The Queen must feature

I know some are going to jump on me for the first one saying that Ripley died in Alien 3, but remember that only a mere seven years later Sigourney Weaver was back starring in the role (at Giler's insistence despite claiming he had nothing to do with Resurrection). In Alien Ripley was the bitch of the crew who proved lucky enough through her tenacity to survive, only to return 57 years later to face the nightmare that had forever changed her life. Narratively, Ripley should have sacrificed herself in Aliens, but James Cameron wanted a happy ending. This resulted in Ripley once again facing the Alien in Alien 3, and despite sacrificing herself a movie too late Ripley returned from death in Resurrection, and with interest forever circling around Neill Blomkamp's Alien: Awakening there could be a chance of Ripley returning yet again.

The second trait I mentioned is actually the more perplexing one, when it comes to the fanbase. The original movie was, as deleted scenes showed, meant to show that the Alien could reproduce by metamorphising its prey into the Ovomorph. However because the scene featuring this concept was omitted from the 1979 theatrical release, and with home media at the time (VHS, Betamax) not being as all-inclusive as todays digital media James Cameron sought to answer the riddle of the thousands of eggs Kane witnessed in Alien by creating a new caste of the creature, the Queen, and through her realizing the Alien as a eusocial organism, similar to insects. Camerons movie proved to be, much like its predecessor, high influential having inspired the Borg, Starship Troopers and Halo, as well as being adapted in countless Aliens themed comics and video games.

Despite the movie's legacy, there is a division of the fanbase that vocally despises the introduction of the Queen into the canon of the franchise, yet if we are to be honest, it is the Queen that has driven the franchise forward ever since, appearing in one form or another in the four movies that followed Aliens (Alien 3, Alien: Resurrection, AvP and AvP: Requiem).

Don't get me wrong, I agree with the purists that the original reproduction method of "Eggmorphing" is a better idea creatively. With Prometheus and Alien: Covenant it would appear as though Ridley Scott is moving away from the "bug Alien" by showing that the Alien is just as adaptive in how it can reproduce as it is in its ability to acquire genetic traits. But without the Queen would we even have a franchise - as limiting as the idea is creatively and its representation of the creature, the idea is much easier for general, casual audiences understand.

of course, there are more traits that have been missed such as (but not limited to)...

- Synthetic naming conventions (alphabetical, then after the producers at Brandywine; David and Walter, is Gordon next?)

- Aliens ability to acquire genetic traits of hosts (see the Kenner toys and video games for possible)

- Corporate conspiracy (praised, despite being a tired cliche by 1979 - Logans Run, Soylent Green, Rollerball, Saturn V, Demon Seed etc.)

- Fourth Act (essentially a cinematic encore)

- Intertwined Birth, Sex and Death (Chestbursters phallic form born from death being a prime example)

- Loneliness (less obvious, but heavily apparent with a little inflection)

- Defeat (the Alien always wins, eventually)

As for BigDaves comments, I agree that the last thing this franchise need is another sequel or prequel. I believe that the Alien franchise needs a movie that establishes a definitive yet ambiguous and threatening status quo, a looming threat whose inevitable exploration serves to lead us a step closer to the inevitable danger.

What the Alien franchise needs is the grandiose that was promised - Paradise.

Certainly would seem he would have NO budget from Disney ;)

Its interesting to ponder what RS may have planned, because it was NOT going to be about Xenomorphs... and Budget Wise a movie set on a Planet, that has Humanoids is Financially Cheaper than Space Scenes and Complex very Alien Organisms like the Xenomorphs.

Its interesting to ponder what makes those Planet 4 Engineers and Prometheus Engineers different, many have concluded or pondered that those Planet 4 Engineers have to be Human/Engineer Hybrids, because they look so much LESS Godlike than the Engineers in Prometheus.

But thats if you look at the Top Down Approach of GOD Creators, vs Creations... we see Weyland was a Creator too, but is he more Godlike than his Creation David?

So indeed its likely those Prometheus Engineers were Enhanced, Augmented beings.  I dont think we are likely to ever explore such things about the Engineers, or what ever David would create in Future..... i think such things are Dead as far as the Franchise.

I think such things are always fun to speculate about, even in regards to REAL-LIFE implications... which have been covered in a number of Sci-Fi movies and Shows...  so indeed if Mankind Engineered Perfect Humans, with Enhanced Traits, for the Purpose of Military or as Servants/Slave Work Force..

The Hubris is always there of these beings, Rebelling and Overthrowing their Creators, and IF these beings can Reproduce then we could be in TROUBLE..

Certainly Interesting themes, that The Planet of the Apes also cover in part.. If Mankind attempted to Create Hybrid Apes/Humans that gain Human Intelligence... then a REAL WORLD scenario like the Planet of the Apes could happen.. but NOT if we Destroyed them before they GOT out of hand.

Which Mirrors really maybe WHY the Engineers would have wanted us Destroyed.   And we could certainly ponder if such Hubris had caused the downfall of the Engineers, and ponder was their conflict between the Planet 4 and LV-223 kinds?

Would have been interesting to see David Engineer a NEW Human Race, and what Truths/Lies he would tell them to keep them in Check... and then watch this GO TO POT when other Humans Turn up and Revelations that come from this.

But in regards to the Topic... it would be interested to see HOW FAR would David Evolve those Embryos and would they use some Unused Concepts (Engineer Concepts, and Engineer/Fifield Mutations) for Inspiration to what kind of Appearance these Humans may have had?

As in maybe use some of the Elongated Head Aspect that we never quite saw in our Engineers in the Prequels.

This Elongated Head could be Engineered to cater for a Higher Capacity Brain/Intelligence and Telepathy/Telekinesis/Psychokinesis.

Reply
BigDaveAlien: Covenant ForumTraits of the franchise

I think it comes down to the Franchise in part trying to OFFER different routes...  The Alien Franchise covered a lot of what you listed.  The Prequels had attempted to introduce something more than seeing Human Characters Put in Jeopardy by contact with Hostile Xenomorph Organisms, that some Nefarious Company on Earth wish to obtain.

Prometheus attempted to steer away from the Tropes of Alien Franchise, and while Alien Covenant returned to some of them, it appears that Ridley Scott had intended to make Alien Covenants sequel FAR less Alieny than Alien Covenant was.

While Prometheus attempted to explore something NEW, it was always going to be Shackled to the ALIEN Franchise where Fans would expect any Prequel to have Answers to the Xenomorph Origins and Introduce our Face Hugging little Friends..

A number of the Themes that the Prequels were trying to explore are a bit of a Distraction from what Fans Expect a ALIEN movie should be about.

So SADLY i feel IF we ever get a Prequel that will Tie-Up the events that BEGAN with Prometheus and END with When/How and Why those Eggs got onto the Derelict it will be a Movie that would By-Pass Certainly what ever Ridley Scott had plans for as far as the NEXT 1-2 movies would have.

It would be likely it would be some kind of After-Math Movie... to what ever happens NEXT in the years 2105-2115, much like how Alien Covenant Barely covered what happened between 2094-2104 and we would likely get a more Alieny Movie than even Alien Covenant, because i feel thats what Disney Feel the fans would be interested in.

I would not even BANK on a Prequel... they could go for a Sequel within the Alien Franchise, and maybe even reveal details within this that would Contradict the Prequels as far as the Plot of David creates the Xenomorph.  And so would not answer what was Davids version then and what becomes of it!

But in regards to what David could Create from those Embryos or consider what the Engineers could Manipulate with a Humanoid, then indeed we could see beings that are.

*Immune to Most Genetic Ailments, Disorders and Diseases.

*Reduced Aging Process, maybe some degree of Organic Regeneration.

*Superior Strength that is 4-6X that of a Average Man

*Superior Speed and Agility that is 2-3X Faster than a Average Man

*Superior Intelligence that is 2-3X Greater than a Average Man

*Improved Senses which include Eyesight, Hearing and Smell

*Improved/Engineered ability Respiratory wise, to survive longer periods without Oxygen and in Environments with Less Oxygen.

Maybe even Engineering a Larger Stature from a Engineered Being?

Surely it looks like maybe those Planet 4 Engineers had done this before to give us those Prometheus Engineers, and i do speculate that David would attempt to create a Humanoid that is more superior to Humans, Engineers and those Enhanced Prometheus Engineers.

Could some kinds of Evolution also bring about some kind of Telepathy Communication?  And indeed other Special Abilities such as Telekinesis/Psychokinesis.

What a Perfect Being that would make... what a Perfect HOST for a Xenomorph like Parasite too.

@123Engineer The longer this list is the more I wonder why I stick around.

I would like only to comment your claim that "secondary characters don't survive ". All the three examples you provide were killed off because the studio thought better and generated complaints. Even now there many who want Alien 5 to bring back Newt and Hicks. And let me ask you since when an actor playing a secondary role is the first one to be mentioned at the beginning off the film (Fassbender was only the second as opposed to Covenant where he is the first)? And it is the first character to be introduced and leaves the final message. By the sequel things David does those things. We already know from C. Huante interview that she was there in the early stages of the story.

We can go different ways, but a TV series seems best imo. Animated could be great too. I am not a book fan, but the franchise could go that direction too.

Interestingly, I have not seen much demand for a full on theatrical movie lately. The idea of alternate forms of the franchise seem to prevail..............Bring it on!!!

It follows you dk! What a gift...it's like a work of art tapping you on the shoulder...

I haven't watched it yet, but only because I haven't had the time. I hope to binge through it tonight.

Complaints are becoming increasingly typical and annoying. Nothing but entitled whiney fans not getting their way.Would you rather have nothing? I guess so!Just like many fans hit the abort button on Black Out and haven't bothered to play it (Please do. it's not Isolation but it was never meant to be,damn good in it's own right)

A show really isn't my preference, but I'll take it.I'm a fan and will continue to consume Alien obsessively in any shape way or form.

The actresses are pretty much built in- Andrea Deck for the voice:

and Kenzia Burrows for the animation and character model:

For a live action though, do you go for appearance or the voice?

Question would be IF there is any chance Disney would go for a Live Action Movie that would NOT center around Ellen Ripley?

I know there are a number of Amanda Ripley fans who would think that taking some of Blomkamps Ideas but exploring them through a Amanda Ripley would be more interesting.

Its who would PLAY a Amanda Ripley?  If Disney would be interested in exploring this route and invest a decent budget i would say they cant go wrong with either Daisy Ridley or Karen Gillan

Saying that i think either Felicity Jones, Emilia Clarke or Ana de Armas could also be good options.

I guess it depends on HOW TALL they would want a Amanda though, if they want her closer to a 5ft11-6ft Ellen Ripley then thats going to limit choice of Actresses a little..  and find someone who looks like her Game Character.

Which only really Karen Gillan would be more ideal at 5ft 10
