COVENANT, just like PROMETHEUS, is just like wine... - All you have to do is to give it some time... ;)
The numbers are in for the second and there was a drop of 63% for dvds and 78% on blurays. Total sales being at 15.1 million dollars. Is Prometheus' 44 million achiveable?
Indeed. Many returns of the day, Sir Ridley Scott! We need more films from you!
Thanks for the reminder, Dark Nebula
I am a Sir Ridley person, so... Turn 90 or more, Sir!
Did you watch the video? A trap for the Covenant. That Planet 4 was used as a lure for a colony ship to provide David with hosts. That the Shaw transmition was David using her distorted but mutilated face as the visual.
elaborate a wee bit. trap for who and how is he gna spring the trap
I agree Ali
More than any movie I can remember since Alien 2 I agree!
i think the deacon was for the fans to soften the blow of RS going in another direction plus to connect the engineers to the xeno. Shaw and David were gna go off and follow a different path to the beast by looking for the engineers so we get the deacon. plus it looks like the creature in the mural so it fits rather than ppl complaining that it wasn't the xeno.
im disappointed in how they handled the deacon but theres nothing to say we wont see it or others again. after all, we have to return to that area whether it be lv 223 or 426 anyway so we could or should get a conclusion to the deacon. I don't believe they can polish the series off and tie into alien in just one more movie. theres too much to explore and to do it right and in any meaningful way would take 2 movie imo. only I see it done in one movie is if the skip everything on origae6. David is done with his experiments and leaves or is ready to leave that planet. pretty pointless if u ask me but its cheap and gives RS and the studio so many ways of answering questions by just making shit up to answer what he did down there.
Oops, different David. Or is it?

OK. Everyone Will Suffer Now with the stupid silly:

Cube Zero is pretty solid imo. Do yourselves a favor and check out Cube and Cube Zero. Just sayin'.
@dk,
I just watched Fincher's "Seven" and Nolan's "Interestellar" for the thousand time :)
But, as I said, I work with subtitles so I watch loads of movies and some of them I really enjoy working with, like Tim Burton's "Batman" (1989), "The Box" (2009), and some of the most recent releases like "IT", "Columbus", "Shot Caller", "The Glass Castle", and I had loads of fun with "The Hitman's Bodyguard."
But I am anxious to find time to see the new "Twin Peaks", for I worked with the first episode and haven't had the opportunity to see the rest yet. And, of course, revisit the 1990 original series.
@Timmy the Ultramorph - WOW! Great choices :)
@IRaptus, yep, the documentary really foccus on the animals' versus famers' problem.
@Dark Nebula, I didn't watch any of them, but I heard "Hunger" is quite impressive, although, as you said, it's dark and oppressive.
I would like to see Advent, Phobos and the last supper added to any DC.
Last Supper at least gives a little more insight into the characters and relationships of the Covenant and James Franco actually makes an appearance in more than a 10 second cut-away....
the password to the video is Flutelessons
To be honest, I did not read the entire post, but upvoted since I begged for a DC for Prometheus and AC. Both would benefit. Perhaps Disney of all companies could do that? Who knows.
I don't think anything can be done about the effects or characters now. I do think a good cut can be made with the deleted scenes that looked good to go production wise. You are preaching to the choir!
There is a new Saw film now too i think? Jigsaw?? I liked the first few films but lost interest after about 3 or 4.
Is this an "Origins" film?
Nice pics, but no, I think the gore could be set aside. I think we all know all about gore at this point. Gore, or its implications, should go old school and be implied to let our imaginations wander.
Timmy the ultramorph Impressive. What is the the time span? I never saw SAW. Did you see the 2001 sequel? I have the DVD but never watched it.
rewatched blade runner in time for blade runner 2049, rewatched all the alien movies.( even sat through avp2) watched saw for the first time, rewatched 2001 a space oddesy, the dark night , inception and predator. watched godfather and godfather 2 again, just random stuff. planning on doing a david fincher marathon
I don't know how, but we nead a facehugger to chestburst out of a host and this could be what it would be like.
the second image is clearly space jockey inspired
IRaptus I had fun. This reviewer pretty much summed up my thoughts:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FkuxA6AnSh0
Seems she was sufing Netflix like us lol!
Get Daniels all dolled-up and we'd have the perfect Beauty and the Beast. Sorry - someone had to do it (hope I wasn't second). Critters5 is right, it's going to be PC/microaggression triggered snowflake galore.
dk Awesome! I'll check it out tonight. Its sometimes fun going into a film totally blind with no expectations, preconceived ideas or even an idea what the film is about, beyond a positive recommendation :)
I would expect Disney to go in the action direction. All joking aside, I think Disney knows it is a serious franchise and might look at the history to see which movies appealed most to the masses. Assuming that would be the case, I could see it being more Aliens and possibly supporting Bloomkamp's Alien 5.
IRaptus Gantz 0. It is worth a watch imo. The trailer actually is cheesy to what the movie actually is. I was watching a Godzilla marathon and it popped up as a recommendation. My wife clicked on it and away we went. I had no preconceived notions. It apparently has a history but we just jumped in. I liked it. I saw it on Netflix too. Kind of quirky in some ways but I think it is because I don't know the history of Gantz.
ahhhh cant you just see Disney Princess's Ellen Ripley and Sarah Connor doing a musical number together XD
dk I saw Gantz on Netflix and was curious about it. Worth a watch you say?
I forgot to add a TOHO movie I stumbled on: Gantz 0. An animated film that is kind of WTF at first but gets really good. Animation and acting is pretty impressive. Here is a taste. The movie is in English but not the trailer lol!

dk Cube:0 is not as good as the original but its still a great film and adds a new layer to the story (the button-pushers) but still keeps the ambiguity of the Cubes purpose and function. Hypercube was a cool concept but a shit film.
ScorpioStar Interesting, I'll check out the documentary too. I have a first hand perspective from both the conservation, and the farmer side on this topic.....
Dark Nebula I have not seen any of those films, but I'll definitely check them out!!
Recently I re-watched the Mad Max films, Sunshine & Event Horizon (Classics)
dave, I get what ur saying but part synthetic/ part organic still poses the question. in its current form the goo only affects fauna, the living part of the synthetic, yet the non living components would remain unaffected, how does it work? it needs to mutate or be re-engineered to affect the non organic matter within the synthetic. whether the components look organic or not isn't really a way round it. the mutagen only affects fauna so the synthetic cant be fully mutated by the current goo
I wonder how much Disney really cares about the Alien franchise since it was never a huge money maker compared to other acquisitions.
something similar was explored for Holloway in the Alien Engineers Draft, and you would have to wonder what would have became of Dr Shaw had she not been aware she was Pregnant with the Trilobite until too late and had no access to the Med-Pod
I can see concerns for sure...
But i think Disney would be willing to take more of a punt $$$$$ Financially than FOX, but this could come at the cost of Disney wanting some input into the Plot etc but i dont think Disney would be so stupid to turn the Franchise into a PG-13 or introduce Mickey Mouse ;)
Interesting....
I missed this and its something they could indeed explore, i guess its a case of wait and see.
@Critters5
With subtitles lol... But if they interact with David we have to remember he can understand them, a tricky one is if they arrive at Planet 4 and how can they communicate with Walter, or if not how will they be able to tel where David is going?
But i would not put it past them just turning up with out giving no explanation to how they knew David would be at Origae-6
@Svanya
Indeed there is a wealth of ideas that we have seen explored in Comic Books, and Unused ideas from Previous movies and also Unused Concepts. We see each movie in the Franchise has appeared to loosely use ideas that never got to be explored in previous ones.
I also missed this Topic you linked ;)
These ideas also are something maybe Dark Horse picked upon when they introduced Elden in Fire and Stone.
@ali81
Indeed we have seen David has not been infected, but the option is there for other different Synthetics to be infected, Elden from Fire and Stone and so also the Eldena concept, were Synthetic Constructs which means they was Part Organic and Part Synthetic the Walter Viral Material did show that he appeared to have some components that looked Organic or where based to look Organic.
So its something that indeed could be explored.
What movies have I been watching lately? Hmm lemme remember, besides sci-fi, I've been watching all kinds of films, here are some:
- Enemy (2013) One of my favourite films, also one of the most confusing films I've ever seen, when credits started rolling, I just sat in silence and stared at the screen for like 2-3 minutes. After rewatching it many times I finally understand what the film is actually about.
- Hunger (2009) dark and depressive, but really well-made film, Steve McQueen's first theatrical film.
- Waltz with Bashir (2008) animated war documentary film, one of my favourite films.
- Mary and Max (2009) my favourite animated film, really emotional, not really for kids.
- Lion (2016) I already knew the story this film was based on, but when I heard there was a film based on it in production I couldn't wait to see it. Wasn't disappointed.
EDIT
I would also like to add Babel (2006), really emotional and intense film.
Looks like it might be a while until it streams. Looks like an interesting documentary.
