Ultra mega awesome? Fun read... but no way this is the plot...

One detail : (sorry for my broken english at first) in an interview an actress saids that her role in the movie is the person in charge of the wake up of the Prometheus crew.
She saids that she dies in the movie about 28 mn after the beginning of the movie.
So in 28mn R.Scott exposes the archeologic stuff discovered on Earth, then the trip to Paradise, then the first attack of the space jockeys ? In 28mn ? I love that supposed script (or synopsis) but when I remember others R.Scott movies, as he's taking time to make us discover the beginning of stories (movies) dammmm every "all of that" in that supposed synopsis 28mn is a little short for me, I'm sorry. But I repeat I love that superb synopsis anyway given in December by a kind person who tried to join in it all the infos given here and there on the internet. Just my 2 cents : whot do you think of ?????
Cheers.

This plot is one of the first I read about this film, and is certainly false. However it remains interesting, similar to the Greek myth, but with a twist at the end. in fact mutants could be product of punishment from the gods to the being infected by them so that they become monsters to thus be able to exterminate the crew. then the human survivors take advantage of using the stolen technology through reverse engineering. For that collected the DNA of the mutants who have managed to kill in order to strengthen the biological weapon, is possible that the biological weapon is the bioformer and not just the resulting monsters. Thus they give life to creatures more smarter, more larger and more unpleasant; creatures that will be the condemnation of paradise. And this is very logical, because after surviving the first attack the action more relevant is against attack gods not stop human get out with it. here would fit so perfect about the derelict if we take into account that a God is infest the Earth with the monstrosities that humans created…perhaps why the sj is stranded on LV-426, by that somehow human interrupted his mission... but for apparently in the trailer the ship SJ is not the same that we saw in the first film... well if so I hope that Scott has in mind
a sequel to prometheus...

This plot is one of the first I read about this film, and it's probably fake, but who knows. However it remains interesting, similar to the Greek myth, but with a twist at the end. Certainly the punishment of the gods would infest the human with the bioformer. Thereafter victims human would begin to mutate into monsters. These monstrosities would begin to decimate the crew of the Prometheus. Then the next Act is that the survivors decide to take action on the matter, and do so using technology stolen through reverse engineering. And continue taking samples of DNA or the bioformer of dead mutants. In this way manage to strengthen biological weapon initial to give life to a new race of creatures more intelligent, more dangerous and more large; creatures that will be the condemnation of paradise. And this is very logical, because After surviving the reprisals all that is left to do is retaliate, already one way or another the gods take revenge against the humans. Here would fit perfect way of the derelict If we take into account that the best revenge is to use the same monstrosities that the human created to infest the Earth, in the same way that treacherous humans made with his paradise world…and maybe the SJ is stranded on LV-426 because somehow the human interrupted his mission...but in the trailer the ship SJ is not the same as we saw in the first film... well if that were the case then I hope that Scott has in mind a sequel...

@ Rakkasan & Galaxy Dave - Personal attacks are out of order.
@ Enderwiggin - British humour is the best, all the best comedians are British.
@ Alien DNA - Arthur and the Sanya Clause movie, yeah real funny, I'd rather wacth Billy Connolly thanks all the same.
@ DB - Thanks, I think, John Cleese was awesome in Fawlty Towers.
Back on Topic - Defo Fake IMO, it caters for what we think its going to be but doesn't go into any real detail. I agree with Rakkasan, it looks like it was written by a 12 year old, a12 year old troll.

I think that this plot will be partly true when the film comes to fruition. . .

The famous explorer Magellan's name gets mentioned a lot as one of the possible crafts in PROMETHEUS. As you may remember, Ridley did a movie about another famous explorer called Columbus in 1492: CONQUEST OF PARADISE.
1492 is about an idealistic explorer, Columbus, who offers to expand the greatness of Spanish Empire by discovering India through Atlantic Ocean. Instead, he & his crew discovers America. He is accused of having God complex by challenging the Church authority that the edge of the world can be reached by a man made vessel. He is rebuked: "Are you saying you are the Chosen One?"
Of course, when Columbus does reach the New World, the Paradise of the title, it is churned to shit with clash of cultures, colonial greed, nasty politics & exploitation.
I bet PROMETHEUS would have similar tone & plot projection.

i feel sarcasm and satire go hand in hand and every lauded comedian from peter cook, to the pythons, bill hicks , to billy connolly, have used it constantly. so sarcasm most certainly is not the lowest form of comedy more often than not its the highest.

ReplydbPrometheus ForumAnother Prometheus Plot TheorizationJan 25, 2012
@ Snorkelbottom: Faulty freakin' Towers! I forgot about that! Superior to even Python I might say! Just didn't get to stick around as long (what... 8 shows?).
Back to topic: No one survives guys! The last surviving human (Shaw?) gives birth to the first "classic" Xeno... Inside the SJ's suit. The chestburster simply rips through the SJ's "suit" too. We... become the destroyer of worlds... (but Ridley, knowing we already know about face huggers, wouldn't come right out and show her becoming infected... He must've thought of a way to keep it from being obvious)... Hmmm.

I agree with the fake assessment....it's too.....rudimentary a story...too simple and the ending is too good to be true for our protagonists. It just isn't Ridley.....
ReplyStarbeastPrometheus ForumSJ is a suit, but tall blue guy is also a suitJan 25, 2012
Yeah I mean the tall blue guy simply can't be the true space jockey because they just wouldn't give away the big reveal in a damned trailer. In previous threads we've speculated it being a sentient being itself or like you say a glorified robot, or indeed a suit as we now postulate. I remember seeig or reading about Toyota or was it Honda that was developing power-assisted suits primarily for the infirm and elderly to help them carry themselves and handle heavy items etc. So the tall blue guy suit could be satisfying similar needs - like you say a strong, agile and perfectly adapted vehicle to negotiate the terrain of the host planet and so on.
ReplycraigamorePrometheus ForumSJ is a suit, but tall blue guy is also a suitJan 25, 2012
First off...I love the 'suit that biomechanically changes to suit the size of its wearer concept' Starbeast. But I can't go with you on that 'blue baldy is a suit too' idea, It just doesn't track for me...at that point, the whole thing would just become some weirdly stupid sc-fi recreation of those Russian nesting dolls that fit one inside another...........

And while I understand the gut reaction that Blue Baldy CAN'T possibly be what the SJ's are, because the studio would never so easily reveal it in an early trailer...I just don't agree. All we see is his back and the side of his head in a very long shot that's onscreen for a fraction of a second....that one shot is an obvious tease in itself. There's no reason it CAN'T be a SJ.........

Ridley Scott needs to go on and on. LOL! He is my favorite filmmaker even when his films are just blahs (BODY OF LIES, ROBIN HOOD). Seriously, he is pushing hard into his 80s, and for Hollywood type I am surprised he lasts as long as he does when many of his counterparts fall victims to drugs & excessive lifestyle. Very few in Hollywood has his brand of visual storytelling. His brother, Tony seems to be in his shadow, and his films are often wrecked with over-the-top experimentations (MAN ON FIRE, DOMINO).
ReplyXenophobePrometheus ForumThe Beginning and the EndJan 25, 2012
I think the idea that Prometheus will spawn a new trilogy, is brilliant! Hopefully they won't milk it dry though like what happened to the Alien franchise. . . :(

I agree. The practical effect in EMPIRE STRIKES BACK, ALIEN, ALIENS far surpassed the CGI effects in their counterpart movies in terms of verisimilitude.
Reply20thcenturybuickPrometheus Forumthe queen alien in aliens is better than cgiJan 25, 2012
the cgi in the prequels was so uninspiring and cartoonish it was like a cartoon..everythng in those movies was done behind a green screen..remember when they actually went places on location..instead every planet they go to is just another green screen mock up
ReplyEGR101Prometheus Forumthe queen alien in aliens is better than cgiJan 25, 2012
@Mindbender
The CGI in LORD OF THE RINGS is done well, and as well as it could be done in a large scale projects with tons of studio financial backing. But there is something about practical effects that even the best CGI cannot touch. The tactile quality of the original ALIEN & ALIENS, the detailing of Space Destroyers & Millennium Falcon, the drops of rainwater off the snout of a T-Rex, and of course our favorite: Space Jockeys - all these are better done with practical effects. Having said that, the final battle of AVATAR with insane camera moves is near impossible & cost-prohibitive to do with practical effects.
ReplyMentosPrometheus Forumthe queen alien in aliens is better than cgiJan 25, 2012
People need to start following the Ridley/Nolan approach. As much practical shooting done in camera as possible, with subtle CGI touch ups to add to the scene.
@Engr101: I see what you're saying with Avatar. I have to be really honest; I don't like Avatar. Not one bit. Regardless of the amazing weta like digital effects (the motion capture) I still don't believe the CGI was as amazing as everyone said it was. I get really taken out of that film because I'm constantly aware that what I'm watching isn't real.
ReplyGavinPrometheus Forumthe queen alien in aliens is better than cgiJan 25, 2012
IMO CGI should not be used to replace but to compliment, Minatures, Practical Effects and Prosthetic Make UP all have their place, CGI should be used to compliment that, not replace it.

Hi guys
Im not to keen on the cgi aspect, its ok to do the things that you just cant do with puppets back drops or such like but just look at that queen its like you all say its just a work of art true genious Stan new his stuff just look at the predetor. the cgi aliens in reserection spoilt the film just awful RIP Stan

@ Snorkelbottom My sentiments entirely. What did you think of the aliens in res?
ReplyGavinPrometheus Forumthe queen alien in aliens is better than cgiJan 25, 2012
The Aliens in Alien Rez were too fleshy, the biomechanical elements of the characters have been lost. Did you know the suits used in AVP were copies of those from Alien Rez. IMO James Cameron should go through with Alien V and bring back the biomechanical elements to the design.
ReplyHukerloverPrometheus Forumthe queen alien in aliens is better than cgiJan 25, 2012
@ Snorkelbottom no I didnt know that although they did look better in AVP shame about the film do think they will do Alien V now that Ridley has got us all interested in it again?

interesting idea,
have you encountered the graham hancock type material which suggests the pyramids (or knowledge of pyramid builders) predates recorded history :) ... although that theory only suggests they are a few thousand years older, not millions or billions as would be the case for terraforming.
On another highly tangential note, my city has a cathederal that is the spitting image of the aliens colonists' terraforming "atmosphere processor" :)
