Yeah totally agree. As I said in another thread, you can cop-out by having aliens that look like humans. Just like Star Trek, where they're all more ideal human than humans! But you can go too far the other way and bring in a 2-year-old as creature designer (as I'm sure they did on Star Wars prequels) where there seems to be no attention paid to how an intelligent life form would evolve physiologically. Personally, I think the SJs should be humanoid but not human. But what would be worse for me is if they spoke English!

Its an intersting observation, and I like the way there is astronomy involved! However I doubt Ridley would link Grays with Prometheus. The whole ufo scene where grays probeulate innocent trailer park folk is a million miles from the Alien universe in my opinion. I think we have a more hard sci-fi story on our hands (well I hope). But you never know, you can't rule anything out - if anything, its a clever link and interesting to speculate about the galactic neighbours!

Thanks! I agree it would really take the story a different direction, but done well, the grays could be almost as erie and mysterious as the SJs are. Ancient astronauts/grays and UFOs tie in with the Illuminati which also tie in with secret societies which many believe are the ones that are really in charge, perhaps even at WY. If that is true, though, the story could be taken over by the whole conspiracy theory spiel. I'd enjoy it as a conspiracy theory enthusiast, but others may not. Of course, Ridley Scott could merely allude to this and I'd be quite happy! I envisioned the whole story where the SJs were in 2 warring factions one of them was part of a large federation that created humans to be slaves on Earth where they were mining. These SJs couldn't live comfortably on Earth so they created a hybrid race that eventually started the secret societies used to controll the masses... This stuff really rights itself! HAHAHA!!!

I, too, enjoy conspiracy theories in fiction. I also find cryptids to be a fun piece of unnerving folklore. However, I don't think the Alien franchise would benefit from tying into an already-saturated genre. After all, it pretty much separated itself from the pack to begin with, and nowadays, conspiracy plots tend to cheapen a film. I enjoyed the first Deus Ex as much as the next guy, but that didn't share the same appeal of an Alien movie. One thing I always loved about the Hill case was that that scientists 'analyzed' the map by.. What? Placing it up against a star field and looking for a near match? You could match up that configuration with countless portions of our night sky. Hell, it becomes even easier if you look through a decently powered telescope - it's literally an ocean of stars up there. I also like the stories where the Aliens tell folks what constellation they're from, as though the position of stars were the same where they come from... I guess the subconscious doesn't take the concept of parallax into account (and by attributing it to an 'experiencer's' subconscious, I'm giving maybe too much credit in most cases.) ;)

Of course somebody just had to start bringing those fake youtube videos on here. This should almost be grounds for barring from the forum. LOL

Been thinking a bit about what form any communication between the Engineers and Humans will take. I think there will need to be some type of communication, but if it's vocalized, or synthesized is anyones guess. Will the Engineer speak in english? I've scanned your computer system and monitored your transmissions to learn your communication method... Will the Engineer speak using his biomechanics (ala Stephen Hawking)? Or possibly psychically?

Was that a recorded voice, or was that some type of automated communication being generated and transmitted by the ship? So many ways to interpret things.

Keep in mind that Scott changed the voice when he released the Blue Ray. On the original special edition it sounded completely different. When the last version of Alien was released he was already talking about Prometheus. So he had an idea already of what they would sound like.

One of the wild ideas of mine is that the Engineers will have sibilant, whispery voices or some sort of blood-curdling buzzing vocal like a voice-synthesizer effect along the lines of what you suggest Jeffomorph.

Yeah it's very good - compare to some of the shit out there. Didn't like the dont they used but the music and editing was very effective. It really annoys me when people put Metalica to tribute videos - it's very common.

I agree. The font could of been better. But Overall I would give it a 5/5. Great video. There's A WHOLE LOT of crappy tribute videos out there for films and what not and most of the time its because the music is COMPLETELY wrong. Editing is also a key component. The pacing, scene selection and so on is a pretty big factor. You have to connect the pace of the music with the scenes of a film to get it right and it can be quite difficult. I agree Frantz.. It seems like a top notch cast. I wonder if there are any other high profile actors in the movie that aren't listed on IMDb? I wish they would come up with a simple bio for the crew. Nothing crazy that would give the story away. Maybe a few lines on their profession, and why they were chosen for the mission. Throw in a little background information for flavor.

Yes, I'm impressed with the casting too, though not too familiar with most of them. The ones that are familiar are astounding performers, so it only goes that the other actors will fall in line within that calibre. On that note, its reasonable to assume that the dialogue will be top-notch as well.

I agree frantz, I think this is a pretty solid cast. The only person u mentioned who im not a big fan of is theron. But maybe this performance will change my opinion. Also I watched Devil again recently with Logan Marshall, and I though he did a great job in that movie, really liked his character, so hopefully he delivers once again

Theron was also great in her small, but important role in "The Road", which also had Guy Pierce in the cast.

Well I think the similarities between the xenos and the sj could possibly come from the idea the sj created the xenos.....the same way human scientists create viruses in a lab setting. I guys the way I look at the xenos is like a large lethal virus.

I just went and voted cupcake I mean Sparky. Yup right now Prometheus is losing 57.8% to 42.2% Thats a 15% Differential not haard to overcome as we get closer to the deadline. I've already seen a preview of Hunger Games on the Big Screen. I think that will all change once the big screen gets an Prometheus Trailer.

Hunger Games will pale in comparison on the BIG 3D Screen. I so want to see Prometheus on IMAX 3D........You know it will show on IMAX
