MemberOvomorph12/24/2011when u say u sculpted it...do u mean as in a 3d model (max, maya or whatever 3d application)....or a hand made sculpture?....whatever u did do it with....i myself am a 3d modeler and i am loving it....good job!

Gavin
MemberTrilobite12/24/2011Looks hand sculpted. Could've done with your assistance a few years back Jux when I made multiplayer maps for UT3.

MemberOvomorph12/24/2011well...i am a freelance artist...i do 3d modeling in max....but i am not here to self promote (tho i am always available...lol)....this dude did an excellent job and he deserves some praise....personally when another artist complements my work then i feel very happy....cause other artists are much more critical... your average guy is almost always impressed....but praise from a fellow artist....those ones i take seriously!

MemberOvomorph12/24/2011Yeah it is very well done I am guessing it's plasticine or super sculpey?

MemberOvomorph12/24/2011I have only seen the tiny avatar....but from what i can tell it is not a digital design....it looks too real...or it has that certain quality .....unless he or she used some very advanced rendering techniques.

Gavin
MemberTrilobite12/24/2011No, def looks hand sculpted, no graphics engine I'm aware of can render that well.

Biomechanic
MemberOvomorph12/24/2011Zbrush has some nice matcaps that can get close very easy but If he rendered it with GI, caustics, sub surface scattering in mental ray he could nail it. He would have to be very good at digitaly painting meshs though and the UV texture cooridinates on that would be a nightmare.

MemberOvomorph12/24/2011yeas bio...u make out...lol...uvw unwrap would be a fucking nightmare!.....nah I think it is definitely a true sculptured by hand real deal model...I just wish ZetaReticuli will comment now!

MemberOvomorph12/24/2011Thanks for all your comments everyone. Its a resin casting of a traditional clay sculpture, lovingly executed I hasten to add. More Alien and Giger-related work here:
