SpartacusPrometheus ForumLV-426 after all.....Nov 29, 2011
I have read everyone else's simulated plots and outlines and speculation but I do not think any of them are as plausible as mine, simply because everyone else has completely stayed and strayed away from the one simple point we got out of all 4 films.
Waylund Yutani's Primary Interest in the Xenomorph was and is it's use as a bio-weapon.
Every Single thing they did with regard to the time line of these films was Evil, and was done with the sole intention of obtaining a Xenomorph and creating a bio-weapon from it.
The stone statue is clearly an Alien created artifact of worship created by an Alien Race in a Man's image.
I think an Alien Race which once feared man has flip flopped and now uses mankind as slaves and that this is the Race Of Growers...of which the Space Jockey is/was a member...he's just a Grower...one of many using mankind as slaves to Harvest a planet{S}
Prometheus crash landed on LV-426 after an accident involving the crew of Prometheus which triggered the Xenomorphs very existense and appearance if you will...in our world.
The final battle will simply be a struggle to keep the Xenomorphs as usual, from ever reaching Earth.
The crew of Prometheus is going to discover that mankind has been used as slaves by the Growers perhaps for hundreds or even thousands of years and this will eventually trigger the conflict itself which in turn determines whether or not any of the Alien creatures themselves ever reach Earth.
There will have to be a Queen on board Promethues.
That's it man.
No time travel no, wormhole, no space warp, and I only say that because CLEARLY all of those things just Do Not Fit the story at All.
If time travel were even possible they Wayland Yutani company would not be building these massive commercial freighters. They'd be constructing vessels more properly suited for time travel.
As for Ash or Bishop or Call, whether either appears in the film is not a sure thing but what is clear is that all of them but more than likely just one of them should be, logic dictates, somehow and as a "plant" on Prometheus.
Ripley #8 was Clearly Never created if not for the on going existence of Bishop.
Ash has been destroyed completely and his "cell" depleted by Ripley's own hand so it is not likely him.
Calls intentions towards Ripley are clearly for her own good, which leaves Bishop..or some entirely New Android we have not been introduced to yet.
Again, that's how I see this, and nothing is to say that I am not terribly wrong except for the fact that it fits every single thing Ridley Scott has said about the film so far, and especially the Script by Spaiths which we now know is a big fat part of this thing.
But, If I turn out to be wrong I will be the first to admit it, all I want is for the story to make sense and the film to live up to the hype.
Something else troubles me too.
There are apparently a lot of people out there that want this thing to fail...and many many more people even doubting this film should have been made at all.
It is fort this reason that I* think not only will this film be special, it will be one of the moist special films ever made in Science Fiction History, it will be Ripley's slap in the face to EVERYONE that doubted he could do this with any credibility and/or elagance.
And IMO The story and the Story Line itself is Everything here. The Character's are everything here, it is how he works.

I agree with the most you did write Spartacus but not on two things
1) forget that Queen ...is not a Scott creature ... if he really want to discard all the alien and Avp movies the first thing to do is to avoid the queen . There is not need for the existence of a queen ...they have already DNA , Engineers , urns ... that will ben enough.
2) they will avoid the same cliche of the "bad" company that sacrifice people for money ... and btw what the WY do will be totally disjointed from other movies except the first Alien .
ReplySpartacusPrometheus ForumLV-426 after all.....Nov 29, 2011
In retrospect and because I agree completely that, the Queen idea is not the most probable, one never knows, but I do think a reference however small at the very least will need to be made to the fact a Queen is/was on board Prometheus, had to be for the events which occurred afterward on LV-426 to maintain their credibility and still make sense.
I would love it if they could in fact "avoid the Bad Company" mentality I would love that, but they still have to do it in a way that maintains the credibility for the film "Alien" at the very least, and that in and of itself infers some conspiracy to exploit the creature as is 100% represented in the character of "ASH".
ASH was clearly a part of a larger plot to weaponize the creatures capabilities, and was a perceived Pre-Events-Of-The-Nostromo-Plant by the company itself...no...?....
Just making sure they can cut all that out without disturbing the integrity of the first film.
ReplyFrantzPrometheus ForumLV-426 after all.....Nov 29, 2011
I think things will be more simple
- they go to discover the origins of mankind ...the voyage is organized by the only corporation that can afford that , the Weyland , expecially for the willing of Vickers ( that explaing the "im so sorry" )
-they find a civilization that loved to experiments with DNA ( science gone mad ) , they are sick and perverts ( no no no theron nude with tentacles ...i mean in a scientific way ) ..part of the crew belive them as "gods" the other as "pervs"
- bad things start to happen
- the company ask Vickers to get back some samples ...she disobey cos she understood the evil nature of them ....
- all the crew get clear that the space jockeys are evil but is too late for many of them ..also the aliens get angry and they menace to destroy earth ...
- the last of the crew fight them back and win even if probably no one survive ... the SJs spaceship fall on the LV426
- at the Weyland HQ they notice that the last trasmissions from the crew were from a far solar sistem , they plan that sooner or later they will make a visit there .
still there is the alien warning signal that is the only real link between prometheus and Alien ... a last effort from the crew of the jockeys maybe

OK...i have no inside info on the film. But I honestly think a "queen" is not going to be involved. I've mentioned it before and I'll do so again...I believe the events/mythology of "Aliens", "Alien 3", "Alien Resurrection", "AVP", & "AVP 2", will all be ignored AND contradicted (i.e. ALIEN MYTHOLOGY REBOOT). Or, at best, the sequels may not be contradicted directly, but won't even be referenced. Just my opinion (and my wish).
While I may like and even love some of these sequels, they do not match up with the tone/intention of the first film. I love "Aliens" as a sci-fi action movie and love the fact that it gave way to great novels, comic books, toys, and video games. But is an entirely different film than the original ALIEN. Not only in the type of movie it is, but also in its originality.
On the "LEAKED" Script by Spaiths...
I did not like (again just my opinion). And frankly I don't think that script has any ties what-so-ever to the final script. I just don't think it something Ridley would do. Furthermore we have NO proof that the leaked script is a "big fat part" of the final script. Why or where would anyone infer that from? Just because the final script was confirmed to have been a modified version of "AN" original script by Spaiths does not mean that the "Leaked" script WE read was THE ACTUAL original script written by Spaiths. (Not to mention that Spaiths SAID the leaked "Harvest" script was a fake.)
But lets say for a moment that the leaked script most of us have read is the actual original script written by Spaiths (Despite his dismissal of it). What we do know for sure is that that script has undergone a rewrite by Lindelof. Chances are that the rewrite completely changed the original script. All I'm saying is...don't hang your hopes on the leaked harvest script...I don't think much from it will make it into the final film we'll all be seeing next June.

I have to agree with "draekus". Scott is going in his direction and has no intention of mentioning or even think about the other films in the chain. Scott is creating a stand lone film that will explain the mystery of "Alien" we all have been asking for many years but I believe that he as a writer is not going in the direction of Aliens..though independently it was a good action film.,Scott is doing what Nolan did for Batman....a clean slate so to speak. I am glad that Scott is ignoring the other films ,as i would do in his position. I want the mystery of Alien to be kept in the dark. The more you dont see, the more frightened you will be and with Prometheus, he will do the same, scare the pants off you. I do imagine jumping into the arms of my girl when I see this movie...lol

If I'm not mistaken, that synopsis was the same one posted in these forums yesterday ( or a couple of days ago). I think it was a speculation by a forum member. If so I think that's hilarious that it's making it's rounds around the Internet already and ended up on Aintitcoolnews as an actual synopsis.

Spartacus some good writing there. The slave theory is plausible. But what about this. We know that there is a battle going on to raise the cert on the movie so something gruesome is being planned (if scott wins) and if you look at Gigers work its easy to imagine what. Some sort of human/alien breeding? So the humans are bread to feed the xenos which are then used to clean up planets for the terra-forming.
All the talk from Scott and others over the months has been about something new only after much questioning did they eventually admit a link with Alien. I reckon this was done to please the financiers and broaden the fan base. Scott has always hinted at something completely new something thought provoking, so my take on this is that the link to Alien is tenuous and will not answer all questions. There was even talk of a second prequel last year. So we may learn little.
I also I dont completely buy the fact that WYC are looking for a weapon. I always believed that there was something good in Bishop. Lets face it he seemed to be the only 'friend' Ripley had. If he is the face of WYC then I reckon WYC set out on the mission with terraforming in mind but somewhere down the line this all changes. Androids can be simply reprogrammed.
Can someone please explain how WYC know so much about what is on lv426 in Alien. Enough to load up Ash 30 years after Prometheus happens unless of course, if you recall it took Ripley many years to get back to earth after Alien, it is Ash who is rescued and brought back to earth only to be repaired, his memory bank dissected and reprogrammed just in time to be signed on to the Nostormo. Someone has to get back from the Prometheus mission and I reckon its not a human. This thing is carrying info about the jockey ship on lv426 and whats on it so it must have witnessed the last events. In general I dont think lv426 will be significant here its just where the infected jockey crashes its ship and dies. Possibly it was carrying the eggs and one got loose.
All conjecture of course.

LMFAO..
Your whole post made good sense but cutting it to the point the way I think exactly had me laughing put loud.
~Spartacus,
Ridley doesn't care about the other 3 movies. What happened in them weren't in thought when puting this together in my opinion. Ridley only cares about his baby...Alien, and he didn't even want to call this a prequel. Also my friend, in other posts you keep falling off the map about Weyland and time travel. The time travel deal is about the Jockeys Technology, not Weyland. Come back to earth my friend, your half way to Zeta on your way to an overdose.

I think so too its Hans, but Jerry Goldsmith's original soundtrack can be heard too in the trailer. Even if Hans cant get to the level and greatness of Goldsmith, if at least he uses that score it will be kickass.

Quite frankly I do not see how time travel can ever be a part of any of this.
Just my Opinion, not saying I do not like or admire the idea, just that IMO it 100% completely does not fit any of this.
I also do not buy the argument in any way that time travel is/was even necessary at all, I completely disagree, they 100% could have developed faster technology. that's it that's all.
Also, the "Substance" could not have been "weaponized" 30 years before Wayland Yutani decided they wanted it so...unless of course I am Dead Bang On The Money and Mankind has been Slaves the Growers for many many years...but even then...it does not seem plausible that the "goo" could have been weaponized already in lieu of ewhat transpires in all 4 Alien films...AFTER these events.
Just my Opinion.
I am a BIG BIG FAN of ALL CREATIVITY, and it is in fact a very creative idea, but I think with regard to this film franchise that idea of time travel should be carefully tempered.

Just in case nobody saw my identical response in the other almost identical thread:
Or... the scene with the derelict ship crashing happens millions of years in the past and it is only a flashback to explain the chronological order of events in a short timeline. (Or here is a completely insane idea, what if there is more than one space jockey ship? You know like how us humans don't build just one 747) Why do people come up with ideas like this? Time travel? If that was the case they could do a better calculation in time jumpin, get that bitch up to 88mph, barrel down on that clock tower and keep the AVP films from being made... I'm a huge fan of the Alien franchise, but why some fanboys get extravagant ideas about "what might happen" in the film is beyond me. My guess is... YOU WON'T KNOW TILL THE FILM COMES OUT!!! It really won't kill you to wait till summer.

These are supposedly smart creatures/beings, right? If they have the ability to create, what is to stop them from having the ability to bend time or make use or worm holes to get to point B from A?
From a writer standpoint, if used rightly, as we seen Lindholf use the technique in Star Trek, there is no telling what curve ball can be thrown into this film with the approval of Sir Scott.
ReplySpartacusPrometheus ForumDerelict can acting like the time machine?Nov 29, 2011
I agree, but no where, in any of the 4 films, but especially in the first one when it could have been of massive benefit to Ripley in saving her own life, do we ever see it used.
This is why for me it is highly suspect.
Also, by the time the events in the 4th film roll around, we still aren't seeing it.
In the 2nd film, Ripley has been adrift for "57 years".
If time travel were even possible, as soon as Van Louin began to slam her in the boardroom she would have been asking everyone, pleading with everyone, screaming at everyone not to listen to her and what she was saying about Cain but rather to go back in time so they could see what she was talking about and why she destroyed their "expensive" freighter.
ReplySpartacusPrometheus ForumDerelict can acting like the time machine?Nov 29, 2011
There's one other thing I left out that I clearly remember hearing and which was being attributed to Sigourney Weaver herself for many years.
Apparently after Junet ended Resurrection the way he did she made it clear that she would never take part in any other Alien franchise related film unless the idea of the Aliens ever reaching earth was abandoned.
She reasoned that everything the character she was playing stood for was about preventing the Big Bad Company from mechanising any potential weapon from the Xenomorphs.
She will have No Part in any film depicting them on Earth.
ReplySpartacusPrometheus ForumDerelict can acting like the time machine?Nov 29, 2011
also, I strayed myself away form the original idea here presented by "Ra_Quami" which is in fact fantastic IMO....and which is that.... "The Growers" may have the ability to time travel and that is 100% possible, and man I would love to see it, but it would require a lot of money for some special effects shots that aren't that too essential it seems to the plot.
But the idea of the ALIENS having this technology, or even the XENOMORPHS themselves is terrifying and brilliant all at the same time.
That is a brillinat idea "Ra_Quami" !!!

Its true that the figures will be expensive. I estimate at least $160 USD, but anywhere as high as $270 USD depending on the size of the figure. I can say that most of the time they ARE worth the retail value, but i can see why $160 toys can be out of people's budget.

Brilliant stuff there Spartacus. Did I not read somewhere that Theron will be a plastic. I agree that Scott wont want to go over old hat. If he is wise, which he is, he will stay away from the later movies and bring in something totally original. Wouldn't surprise me if one of the plastics is the lone survivor but broken or modified in some way by the events. Consider this. Where does WYC get the knowledge of the derelict ship from in Alien. Why send an android? I've often thought that the technology behind Ash to be far superior to the rest of the tech on the Nostormo. Parker used wrenches to fix pipes. Maybe Ash's technology was based on what returns to earth from Prometheus. Maybe Ash is hidden aboard Prometheus?

Check this out...The thinking does not stop....
I got "antsy", and went back and called up the PDF on my desktop of the Spaiths script and On the first Page something else hit me like a ton of bricks, don't know how I missed it's importance...
There are 2 Human Beings on the planet on which The Growers {Space Jockey's} are over seeing the entire harvest operation right from the get go.
"Fin" & "Karik", who's job it is, to squeeze out as many bushels of Crop as possible from each acre of land. I believe Fin even goes on to tell Karik or vice versa that he hasn't been allowed to go anywhere for the "past 8 or 9 years".
Which means already we know, if they did not cut out that very first scene Spaiths wrote, that "The Origins Of Life On Earth Issue" involves as part of it's message, that we did not originate on Earth itself or were kidnapped from earth to be slaves on another world by another race of beings...perhaps even the Growers themselves.
Human beings are being used as slaves {and probably have been in the "Alien Universe" for a long long long long long time} is what the Prometheus crew more than likely discovers.
That's my speculation anyways and I am sticking to it.
And speculating even further, the "Accident" that more than likely leads to that "Final Terrifying Conflict" is going to be a Human Being accidently releasing or opening the hole/and/or container that allows the very first XENOMORPHS to collide with our/their worlds.
ReplySpartacusPrometheus ForumLV-426 after all.....Nov 28, 2011
and taking it even further to prove it's plausibility...right to the end of the timeline in fact...
It also fits with how "The Betty's" Crew...comes to discover that the "Auriga" which they have boarded illegally has also been engaging itself in a severely illegal activity...
...The smuggling of Human Hosts for Alien Harvesting.
...and you can therefore assume some of the Slaves to the Growers may have fell victim to such a fate...

I think you got a kickass story there, I'd pay to see that flick. A lot of wild imagination goin' on there. And although I generally don't have much of an appetite for the blasphemous nature of un-deifying traditional understandings of mankind’s origins, I think you handled it well.
It never ceases to astound me, how in our world, in which approximately 97.5% of it’s population claims to believe in some kind of god or all powerful creator…the media is ever trying to replace traditional beliefs in creation with surrogate ones. Somehow, ancient and traditional beliefs are ridiculous, primitive, unrealistic, and impossible…simply because they are ancient…or seem to be not inline with “Science”…which seems to be becoming the new god/religion.
I try to be a person who is open minded enough to embrace the possibility of science and a supernatural creator coexisting in harmony, rather than pitted against each other. To me, the denial of the possibility of the truly divine…is well…not very scientific. Grand imagination is the seed science. Still, folks will look into the night sky…searching for answers, if only to settle on the stars themselves…rather than supernatural or celestial possibilities. They’ll swallow aliens over angels, and Space Jockey Engineers over a God.
I related to the way Thor put it, in the recent film…when the Asgardian said:
“You're ancestors called it magic, and you call it science. Well, I come from a place where they're one and the same thing."

RHunter I think you hit the nail pretty well there. Nice one. I'd pay to see that too. If you read the info released over the past six months or so I think time travel appears here and there. Why introduce this if you are not going to use it to good effect. The idea that the jockeys use time travel makes sense otherwise they would never see the fruit of their toil. I also wondered how the ancient wreck on acheron fitted into the story. Scott has admitted the last few minutes would tie into Alien. This is how its done. Wormhole. I just cant buy the giant monsters and all that it's not Scott's style. Scott did hint at a gruesome movie so I do buy the transformation of crew into some sort of mutated bio beings just dont know how he's going to pull it off without looking ridiculus. Think of the deleted scene in Alien where the crew were being transformed.
