the warning signal was clearly in alien language ...of course there can be an explication for that . We can be really sure its the lv426 ? The ship is surely the same ...or the same class .

Def...can't wait to see the HD trailer, lol..then we can go frame by frame and see more. I am thinking that the last 8 minutes is the climax of the film where we see the cause of the ship and the maybe this is LV426 before it was called this....so many questions! lol

From that I see My simulated 8 minute ending is starting to make a lot more sense now...lol. My G-d you can just cut the anticipation for this thing with a freakkin' butcher knife. If watching that trailer mash with that background score doesn't get you..."UP"... You must be listening to "Limp-Bizkit" Jack... ...'Cause that right there was "The "Fa-Sizzle" !!! LMAO.

Oh my god!!! It really is living up to my expectations. It looks like it will be a sci fi EPIC! When you see the Space Jockey Seat rise up through the floor i was like at last we are gonna find out how the famous alien started originated. I can't see to clearly but was there an actual shot of a Space Jockey??? I really think and am sure others will agree this is going to be a fantastic edition to the story of alien. We don't need any more alien films. We need to see how these bad boys were created. PROMETHEUS is going to make Alien an even better film butROMETHEUS will be superb!!!

a thought ... the space jockeys cant have a human shape ..cos otherwise they wouldnt be "creators" of a new race but just "cloners" .

Frantz wrote; "a thought ... the space jockeys cant have a human shape ..cos otherwise they wouldnt be "creators" of a new race but just "cloners" ." Here's another thought Frantz, We already know that they DO. The Space Jockey from Alien is Clearly "Human Shaped", and in Spaiths Script he referred to them {IMO} as "The Growers" they are Bi-Pedal with 4 limbs 2 of which are arms and 2 of which are legs, and a head, but on a much larger scale than your average human being. The Space Jockey in fact at this point cannot have anything OTHER than a Human Shape... Therefore a Question; Is it possible you intended to say Human "Face"rather than "shape" ?
Reply
FrantzPrometheus ForumBREAKING NEWS: MORE OFFICIAL IMAGES RELEASED
well no spartacus ..the spacejockeys didt not have a human "shape" ... even if i agree that the term is quite vague ... is you see in the darkness a space jockey ...their "silhouette"" ... i dont think you are reassured that is your neighbour ..you should start to run scared :D . The fact they have two harms , two legs is not enought to have a human "shape" ,,,and to be honest we still dont know nothing about their legs . So i confirm my thought ...if the aliens have a human "shape" ( and of course THAT face ) all the "creation" thing would be "downgraded" to merely clonation . I say that to reassure myself that we will not see guy pearce emerge naked to welcome the crew ... i want to see horrible nasty creatures .

Frantz, I have to disagree. In almost every religious creation theory on Earth. The god(s) created man in their image and thus likeness. Can every religion be wrong? Not likely too many similarities. Guys, Also if you look at Guy Pierce the stone face has the same crook in its nose as he does. Plus the brow lines are a perfect match and the (its) left eye is slightly lower just like his. Roo (no longer Ruh), Lets all gather round......Mys Hooka was guilty of pilferage of da sacred gonj. hiya, hiya, hiya hia.....highya, highya, highya.... Anyone else hear the drums in the background? Frantz, Isn't the shape of the Space Jockeys although "dissproportionate" to that of a "standard human", still pretty damn close? O.K. maybe Giger snuck in there and added a tail, but the rest is pretty darn close, no? LMFAO.

Dear Rick i agree from a standpoint of traditional religion but then we have also to add that the Creator is who can do from nothing ... someone who mix things that already exist can be at the best a good scientist ..so to me the Space Jockeys are "engineers" ( ive heard this word before ... )

Ok, another take on the closing 8mins. Several of the crew have been unknowingly poisoned/experimented on with Space Jockey "fertilizer" by Fassbender. Subsequently they've been randomly morphing, turning into beasts and killing the remaining crew. A state of paranoid has reined a la Carpenters "The Thing" Rapace, Theron and Fassbender survive. Rapace overhears Fassbender tell Theron they have enough info - they've been in on the act together implanting the alien seed. Theron we discover is also "replicant" and has a human self back on earth. We learn of Tyrell Corps merger with Weyland Yutani, and that she's the most perfected replicant yet, a product of the combined industries. Earth bound Theron purposely sent her "replicant" model to monitor Fassbender's model, who have been known to have 'unreliability" issues. They've been streaming data back to earth in preparation for their return. The intention always was to make the crew expendable, using them as guinea pigs to sample/experience whatever it is they found on the planet. Rapace, on this discovery attempts to kill both Theron and Fassbender, but they leave her stranded on the planet, escaping on the Prometheus and heading back to earth with several ampules aboard. As the Prometheus exits into space, Idris Elba, who had previously thought to be dead, has morphed into a half human-beast, and kills a stunned Theron and Fassbender. The ship loses control and falls back to earth, disintegrating as it re-enters the stratosphere. Rapace is meanwhile left on the Jockey ship. She activates a personal distress beacon. Then, while searching for a way out, she walks into a new chamber, there are no ampules in this room, but instead of there being a giant human face, there is a sotne carving of and Xenomorphs head. She then accidentally triggers an ancient control panel that reveals the jockey chair from beneath the circular floorspace. She steps towards the chair, thinking there might be a way off the planet...but shockingly begins a process of metamorphosis. Bewildered and screaming in disbelief and horror, she staggers into the seat as if by the will of the creature possessing her, bones breaking into beast like hind legs, turning into a giant beast. Tears fall from her now wholly black pupils. She mounts the chair, no longer in physical control but driven by the desire of the beast she is becoming. The chair immediately activates and envelops her with a protective exo-skeleton. It feeds what is thought an oxygen pipe into her mouth and she fuses into the seat as one bio-mechanical organism. We see her hands reach for what she thinks are the pilot controls. Suddenly, a small "egg" is fired into her pipe. Her eyes open further in horror. This is not a pilot seat, this is a "host chair". Fused into the seat and unable to escape, we see the last drop of Rapace's humanity fade. There is silence. Then the sound of ribs cracking. A final beastly scream from Rapace...exploding from her chest - an Alien Queen. A new species has been born by default. The giant creature falls onto the empty floor around her, and begins to lay eggs.... Well, you get the gist haha...sure it'll work out completely different...actually think that'll take up more than 8 mins lol

Ok, here's my take on the final 8mins…make that 15 lol The story so far has involved Fassbender furtively implating/poisoning crew with primordial goo - this has instigated a process of metamorphosis, turning crew into various beasts and killing one another. Theron, Fassbender and Rapace are the last survivors. Rapace while retriving what equipment remains, overhears Fassbender discuss his experiments with Theron. They've both been in on the act. Theron reveals herself to be non-human, she's a replicant. The finest model yet since the takeover of Tyrell Corp by Weyland Yutani. She's been sent to monitor Fassbender whose android model has been known to have "unreliability" issues. She revels in the fact she's a superior design, the future of synthetics. Fassbender is in admiration. They reveal the crew were always intended as guinea pigs for research purposes and video data has been streamed continually back to earth in preparation for their return. Rapace on learning this attacks them both, but fais to kill them. They leave her stranded in the Jockey Ship, escaping the planet aboard the Prometheus. As they enter space, ships captain Idris Elba who was thought to have been killed, reappears as a sub-human beast. A stunned Theron and Fassbender are subsequently torn apart. Theron's torso, spraying uncontrollably with white fluid, tries to set the ship into auto pilot, but it's too late. Elba's beast roars defiantly as the ship crashes back into the stratosphere and disintegrates. Rapace meanwhile, triggers her own personal distress beacon, then sets about trying to find some way off the planet. "It's a ship, there must be a way to fly this thing." She enters another room, this time empty of ampules, and instead of a giant human head facing her, this time a recognisable giant carving of the xenomorph "dome". Above it, an empty plateau with an ancient control panel. She clambers up, and somehow triggers the device. A jockeys seat is revealed from beneath the floor. It looks like a pilots chair….Rapace walks to the seat…but as she does so, horrifically begins a process of metamorphosis. She screams at the bewildering terror of this, bones breaking into beast like form, possessed by the will of the creature she's becoming. She staggers into the chair, tears falling from her now black filled pupils. The chair activates and envelops her in a bio-mechanical exoskeleton. A pipe is fed into her mouth and she commences a regulated breathing process. She is no longer human. Suddenly an egg is fired into the new creature, her eyes widen as it is forced through the breathing apparatus. There is a stillness, a quiet. The "gun" stem activates and fires a monitoring beam into the creatures chest. It is stimulating the implanted egg, accelerating the growth process. Then out of the silence, the sound of ribs cracking, a final scream from Rapace that merges into the searing screeches of a new creation - tearing out of her chest, an Alien Queen! This was not a pilots seat, but a host chair! Again a brief stillness, the giant queen, slithers from her host, rises from her trembling newborn legs, walks onto the plateau and begins laying eggs… Time passes, we see a chamber filled with alien eggs. A blue light field suddenly beams across the floor, monitoring the eggs stasis. Cut to a shot of the ships hull as the light crosses - we see a brief glimpse of the Queens now dead body, fused to the inner wall, like a work of art, at one with the ship. Cut to Rapace's now dusted beacon, it's tiny screen flickers into life. The cursor flashes…."Distress signal received. Rescue party dispatched…SS. Nostromo". Anyway you get the gist…Probably more than 8mins there and nothing like what Ridley has in store…enjoyed speculating tho haha :)

there cannot be a bleak ending on such a mainstream movie ..it will destroy is repetition value and incomes ... also is much more difficult to give a smart good ending ( or almost a huge payoff ) than the classic bad ending that make teens says " oh coool " but then you forgot the movie quite soon . If the first alien move had a bleak ending it would have been almost forgotten ... Instead there are some great bad ending but togheter with an huge payoff ( the gladiator and braveheart are two of those ) , in particular one of the best is the one of "the mist"

Do not forget that there is another Android with them of which Scott is keeping secret. So, be mindful of that....fassbender could be the good android in this as someone else is the mole..

I think that's exactly what the ending will be...BLEAK. I think Scott wants to make a statement about how mankind has squandered some glorious opportunities to learn and grow in from our adventures in space. but it's just my opinion, I'll be satisfied with whatever he does, I have faith in him.

Guy's in the end it's just my take on it. Sure, Ridley might not use a Queen, but I think it's possible Theron is an android. Would love to see Bladerunner universe tied in with this. Anyway, done my bit, let's hear your versions - anyone got a more Disney style finale they want to share? Lol

he will not want to destroy the ties with alien , so it cannot be possibile that the "good" guys return all togheter happily with the heads of the aliens , that would make Alien not coherent with that "universe" . So im thinking more about an ending self sacrifice , a "spiritual" hint that life dosnt born by science ... and an android that survive but choose to keep things for himself .

Yeah, I agree..I do believe that no one will return from this one way trip. I think that Rapace will sacrifice herself to save human race..perhaps causing the dyerlic ship to crash or be responsible for the JOckey getting an Alien in his chest...

It would have to mean that some Alien Race thought enough of him to worship him like a God. It reminds me of perhaps the most famous "Outer LImits" episode ever made entitled "The SandKings" in which some astronauts bring back Alien soil from Mars, one of the company men back on earth in charge of care for the soil gets fired, steals some of the Alien soil and sets it up in an Aquarium inside his shed at his house. One night he leaves an empty can of Peaches beside the aquarium housing the Alien Soil before going to bed. The Alien Creatures, The Sandkings living inside the soil, build 2 war castles based completely on the label they see on that empty can of Peaches and when the company man {Beau Bridges} comes into the shed the next day, he notices that they have also built his likeness into the front faces of the castles, and when he then steps inside the aquarium and raises his arms as if he is a God, the Aliens, lined up for war on opposite sides of the aquarium in front of their respective castles, see this, they part like the red sea, cease their hostilities and back up into formations designed for worshiping their New Human God. That Sculpture is IMO exactly what that is, a salute to a perceived God made by an Alien Race that does not know any better than to worship such an imposing {to them} human figure.

Kind of guessed this would happen, pleased about it but I guess the figures will be £100 plus and just WAY out of my price range..bet they look good though. Be nice to see a re-release of some of the past characters, especially the Marine's 12" figures, always wanted one but just can't afford them.

My take on this, #1-The Original Twilight Zone. It may also be the single greatest TV show of all time. Which was most fabulously written and Hosted by Rod Steiger "et al" from 1959-1964. There were/are some things in those episodes that are still being made into feature length films today, some of the best science fiction writing in both television and film history. #2- The Original "Star Trek" Do not know what else to say about that one except that my best friend George and I still play "Star Trek Trivia" with it and "Guess the Name Of The Episode", 45 years later long distance from my home in Montreal to his in Florida. That, and two other things.. Leonard Nemoy and Gene Roddenberry. #3- My Favorite Martian I went wild for this show as a kid, it was so much fun to watch. A Martian named Exodus comes to Earth to live with Timothy O'Hara. Exodus, a wisecracking alien, moves in with O'Hara under the guise of being his uncle Martin O'Hara. "My Favorite Martian" lasted from 1963-1966. #4- The Outer Limits "There is nothing wrong with your television. Do not attempt to adjust the picture" is the famous line that marked the start of each episode. This science fiction show featured a different cast each week that focused on space travel, time travel, and more. in the 60's for crying out loud... it was so good it could not be forgotten and along running remake is still on TV today and well into a ten plus years run. #5- Lost In Space "Danger Will Robinson, danger!" For three years and countless reruns after, we watched the Robinson family survive against scary and hilarious beings that threatened their existence. The family, as the title implies, was hopelessly lost in space because of a sabotage effort gone awry thanks to Dr. Zachary Smith. The program aired from 1965 to 1968. #6- The 6 Million Dollar Man Those famous words, "We can rebuild him, we have the technology," explain how astronaut Steve Austin (Lee Majors) becomes the "The Six Million Dollar Man." Austin is mutilated after a crash and a secret government agency replaces his now departed parts with super powerful mechanical limbs. Austin uses his new superhuman like powers to solve crimes and catch bad guys. Look for the classic episode when he battled Sasquatch, or Big Foot. The series began in 1973 and resulted in a spinoff series called the "Bionic Woman." #7- 'V' This miniseries was nearly 20 years ahead of "Independence Day." In 1983, sci-fi loving Americans were glued to their seats to watch the Visitors in the miniseries "V." It followed the classic aliens plot — aliens come to Earth to help mankind, but actually want to steal the planet's natural resources. A regular show followed this miniseries, but never quite lived up to the original. #8- The 'X' Files I hated it, each week I was left wanting more and wasn't left satisfied at all with that, but it was WILDLY popular and critically acclaimed for some reason I never got. Still, Massive following and it was hard to argue with that...That said...he X-Files" helped inspire a new generation of Americans to fall in love with conspiracy theories. David Duchovny played FBI agent Fox Mulder who, along with his partner, Dana Scully (played by Gillian Anderson), uncovered extraterrestrial mysteries and tried to use science to explain the unexplainable. The show survived from 1993 to 2002 but quickly faltered when Duchovny went on to pursue a movie career. #9-Batman Before Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, George Clooney, and Christian Bale, there was Adam West playing Batman on TV. This was West at his best playing a somewhat hip, yet straightlaced, hero with sidekick Robin (played by Burt Ward). Who could ever forget the time Batman avoided being frozen to death in a giant ice cream cone thanks to his "bat-thermal underwear?" Yet another genre classic. It ran from 1966 to 1968. #10-The Thunderbirds Perhaps the best puppet sci-fi show of all time. Led by ex-astronaut hero Jeff Tracy, the Tracy family - all marionette puppets - answer the calls for help with their unique rescue vehicles. They call themselves "International Rescue" and from 1965-1966 helped make the world a safer place for marionettes everywhere. ~Spartacus
