Very Nice Work...
I would like to see something like this explored in the future movies, it is what i assumed was the Engineer from Prometheus Trailers, when we saw the Engineer Standing over Dr Shaw.
As at this time this scene looked like the Engineer was not much larger than her.... when we thought the Engineers being Space Jockeys would be 10ft+
But alas once we saw the Movie in 2012 we find out it was just a 7.5ft Engineer, but i did back when the trailers came out.. i wondered if David combined himself with Engineer Bio-Technology and he managed to make himself more than a Robot... and so like Pinocchio wanting to be more than a Wooden Puppet and a Real Boy.
David Evolves himself and connects to the Engineer Suits and off he goes to Earth, but then he Ultimately gets infected with Shaws Baby Squid and i thought this was the Spoon Fed Xenomorph Origin Explanations we was going to get.
This however was not the case..... HOWEVER.. its not to say similar could be explored in Future.
Nice to see this video again... such a shame that not so much Practical stuff made it to the Movie... i wonder what a extra $10-20M Budget and 8-12 weeks more Production time would have allowed as far as Perfect and use more Practical Effects
I hope this kind of criticism is one of the Things FOX takes on board and gives us more Practical effects in the next movie
Well at the time of Prometheus i assumed the Acid Blood was a Trait passed on from the Xeno-Strain Black Goo Pathogen... and the Regeneration was simply the Black Goo taking the useful traits of a Organism and Evolving them while Replacing other Traits with Xeno-Strain Traits.
But indeed the idea in Logans Draft was that the Xenomorph had Regenerative Ability and Ridley Scott had suggested the Dead Xenomorph in Alien Covenant would Regenerate itself.
Indeed Milburn the Steve Irwin of the Alien Franchise ;)
To be fair though, there have a been a number of discussions on how to attempt to address a good reason for the Space Cobra Petting, being pretty excited, being hand selected by Vickers...
And well Yog thats not one i have heard before.. but that is interesting if the Organism has some kind of Hypnotic ability that causes a Host to Acquiesce to the Organism. Certainly would be a useful Trait to have for the Purpose of Procreative Life Cycle of a Face Hugger type event... if the Hammerpedes Procreate similar.
The Prometheus Re-write i was working on, had Milburn discover smaller worms like in the "Our First Alien" Deleted Scene, when they enter the room he discovers some small worms and goes to study them and put them into a container for Study when they get to the Ship and then he notices a Larger one like the "Our First Alien" Deleted Scene and is all excited, despite Fifields Hesitation, Milburn rushes over to capture it and Fifield says dont touch it... Milburn mentions they have their Suits that would protect them and he grabs the Larger Worm (Similar to the Deleted Scene size) and as its covered in Black Goo its slippy and it grows a bit in his hand and so he drops it, he then goes to get it again and Fifield is saying leave it... so he takes his eyes off where he is facing and slips over some of the Goo and Lands on all Fours..
This is when he then notices the Two Hammerpedes, and he comments on here must me Mommy... the Hammerpede Aproaches and Stands up to Fifield and Hisses and Milburn warns Fifield to not make any sudden movements, Fifield moves and the Hammerpede Turns towards him and so Milburn wistles at the Hammerpede and Waves his hand to get its attention. They both stair at each other (Milburn and Hammerpede) about 4-5 feet away... the Hammerpede then unfolds its raised/flared parts of its head... Milburn senses as with Cobras this is a sign its relaxed.
Then we have the dialog where Milburn is talking to it from the movie.... then Fifield gets Milburns Attention and as Milburn takes his Eyes off the Hammerpede it Darts towards him and as a Reaction Milburn puts out his hand and grabs it...
The Hammerpede then seems to calm down.... Milburn is very intrigued but then... BAM the Hammerpede Tightens around his Arm and the rest of the Scene is the same as the Movie.
Its little changes like this i was making to make better explanation to such scenes... that would have made much more sense..
DG, that is a great comparison in "a sense of wonder" that drove Millburn compared to the late (and very great) Steve Irwin.
Thank you also for the analysis. The black goo really brings out the worst in an organism. It seems to take away the need for nutrition other than a need to devour humans.
The bowl you mention above drucea is a lavender-like balm David 8 made to counter the ammonia smell from the eggs below. He convinced Captain Oram to rub some of it below his nose to relax him in preparation for the horror of a facehugger he met shortly after.
@Thombach - You are correct. It was Damon Lindelof who explained the Hammerpede origin on the Prometheus commentary.
"When this goop, as a result of being exposed to the atmosphere when they unseal it (the ampule room) interacts with these worms, those worms grow into much larger and nastier worms that have the capability of infecting the humans who come in contact with them - Milburn and Fifield."
Basically, just douse the animal in that form of the pathogen and it mutates. Same thing was happening to Fifield.
you're welcome fox :)

I think Milburn had good intentions as a person, but he was always naïve at heart. Look at how quick he was to make friends with Fifield at the beginning; other people would have gotten the hint at first glance that Fifield wasn't the friendly type, but Milburn sat down and tried to make nice anyway. On top of that, he's kind of like the late Steve Irwin in the sense that his innate sense of wonder and curiosity outweighed his sense of caution. Everyone knows how many times Irwin approached dangerous and aggressive creatures, knowing full well what they could do, and tried to handle them anyway (unfortunately, that eventually led to his demise as well). At the end of the day, I've settled into the conclusion that Miburn was probably a smart biologist, but too trusting for his own good.
In regards to the fundamental relationship between the Neomorph and the Hammerpede, I think you're spot on. If the black goo weaponizes living things down to the genetic level, whoever or whatever it affects would take on similar properties (white, translucent skin, regenerative capabilities, pure aggression, etc). I also noticed that the Hammerpede and Neomorph have mouths similar to anuses; I don't know if that was intentional or not, but there are already vaginal and penile attributes galore in the Alien universe, so it wouldn't be too far-fetched if that were true.
Was David 8's lab and "Flora and Fauna of Origae-6" sent before the Covenant crew left Earth or at least before they arrived on the planet David 8 is on?
Did David 8 send this message from a secure link inside himself to guide the mission to his planet?
How would David 8 film this on the way out?
There are multiple special orders flashed in David 8's message to Weyland-Yutani Corporation.

And why would it be labelled as Flora and Fauna of Origae-6 if they haven't been there yet? Now I'm hoping they release teasers like this all the way up to the next movie to keep me entertained at work.
Not sure if it was in the movie, but did anyone catch this as David went down into his lab? On the wall of the stairs looks like the Engineers sacrificial bowl with cup in it setting on a shelf. Also, I wonder what he means by the never meant to serve quote. Is David revealing there really is some kind of sub-programming waiting to be unlocked (to be able to create)? Or is it one of his delusions that he was actually meant to be a god?
dk cooking up some spam, I see! Thanks!
You're great Ati. I should have read closer.
Please tell me what "Flora and Fauna of Origae-6" means?
Is this an answer to planet confusion?
The issue is that David's studies appear to happen on Origae-6 according to the title flashed.
Cosmonaut-Copper - I'm looking forward to your next Alien Covenant project. :) Your deleted flute scene video is the number one for me at the moment. :D
Cosmonaut-Copper - I hope Fox will reveal their future plans after the Japanese opening in September.
I'm so happy! This are good news yes? Can we get a new movie now.. I don't want to wait years again.
Ingeniero - No, no, no! I just said that because you had mentioned that there were no secrets in the video!
Oram seemed more likable after watching some deleted scenes.
One can only suggest that Milburn was hypnotized by the hammerpede. Maybe it gives off some kind of waves that effect the brain, or its movement is hypnotic, leading Milburn to lose his sense of danger.

Yes Lilly (Svanya). A gift to us.
Can't fault me for searching Ati...I just have to look.
To be honest, they were all likable in my opinion. Yes, that includes Oram. What a horrible fate for a colony ship. I actually felt sorry for those that died.
But if I have to chose then it's David (and Shaw even though she is gone), followed by Walter and Daniels.
Why wouldn't they include David's lab in the VR experience Jonesy?
I'm sure you'll be able to take a tour of it once the Alien: Covenant virtual reality is released.
Correct Thombach. A little bit fluffy in regards to anything we haven't seen before.
Guys, this video is only a teaser. :)
We can find the secrets on the Blu-ray, etc.
That's funny Lilly (Svanya)...I bet it is a painted Rubik's cube.
They did something else too hox...it might have been a painted cube with a good graphics designer to add the glow later.
I thought David would go without saying lol!
As a HUUUUUGE 'Alien' franchise fan, I have to admit... I have not had interest in buying 'A:C' yet, however, I have 'WW' pre-ordered. That being said, I'm glad to see it #1 as that may help it get a sequel.
David by a mile, all the others deserve to die.
Ali81, it is obviously that you are fan of Austin Powers.
You're most welcome Thombach.
"So is that what I see swarming all around the Engineers after David drops the black fluid jars on them?"
To try and answer your question, Kethol has a great topic in regards to the ailment befallen the Engineers David 8 visited here.
You are correct Yog Sothoth.

The many forms of black goo have yet to be shown but the "activation" seen in the urns when David 8 was dropping them on the Engineers below is different from the boiling over disbursement of black goo shown in Prometheus.

"The spores-insects from the mutated fungus are very different to the airborne black goo particles we see floating off the Engineer and/or raining down from David's black goo attack in Covenant."

Yes, the black goo delivery mechanism, quantity, and mutagen-solution type has been quite different in each case.
Kethol, thank you for the compliment. And let me add how ridiculous cool you are for including the map above from the 1970's.

"It is the same map as the Betty and Barney Hill UFO abduction from the 1970s."
That is so great. We all spoke about this months ago and I had never seen this comparison.
"A menu graphic on the DVD/Blu Ray states this is the Zeta 2 Reticuli system, but it is never stated in the movie. Holloway's graphic shows us a ringed gas giant with only two moons, one labeled LV-223. The gas giant in the movie looks very different to the one seen in Alien, so it is not the same planet, just another planet orbiting the same star as in Alien.
Since the Covenant graphic only shows one gas giant orbiting the star, it is not the same solar system as we see in Alien and Covenant. Also, David and Shaw would have been there in no time if it was just a matter of going from one planet to the next in the same system."
Great point again Kethol.
We just couldn't trust David 8 in what he told Dr. Shaw regarding how far the Engineer home world was. It could have been the next planet over and David 8 would have just lied to get her to go to bed.
Alien Covenant #1 video seller:

Got my 4K from Amazon..then stopped at Target and they only had 3 copies!! 4K was gone and only one DVD version and 1 Bluray version. I snagged a Bluray/dvd version.
