Comicpalooza is a comic book convention held in Texas. Although the convention may not be as large and as popular as the San Diego event Comicpalooza, which will be held at the George R. Brown convention center this June 17th through until June 19th, will this year, for the first time on US soil see the main cast of hit 1986 science fiction sequel Aliens reunite.

On Saturday June 18th fans will be able to get autographs and signed photo opportunities with stars Sigourney Weaver (Ripley), Carrie Henn (Newt), Lance Henriksen (Bishop), Bill Paxton (Hudson), Jenette Goldstein (Vasquez), Mark Rolston (Drake) and Paul Reiser (Burke). Weaver and Paxton will only be in attendance on the Saturday, with Reiser and Henriksen only be able to attend on the Saturday and the Sunday.

The convention will also be featuring the likes of Eliza Dushku (Tru Calling), Lou Ferrigno (The Incredible Hulk), David Prowse (Star Wars), Walter Koenig (Star Trek) and Lennie James (The Walking Dead), with many more special guests yet to be confirmed.

Neill Blomkamp's Alien 5 project was inevitably canceled following the merger between 20th Century Fox and Disney. Blomkamp had hoped to revive characters Hicks and Ripley for a new film, rewriting the Alien timeline, chalking up Alien 3 and Resurrection to mere bad dreams. Studio executives decided to can the project and instead took the franchise in a new direction, tapping Fede Alvarez to direct Alien: Romulus.

Neill Blomkamp's Alien 5 is indefinitely shelved.
