T. Ocellus, also known as The Eye Midge (the creepy little eyeball alien) stole the show in Noah Hawley's Alien: Earth series – becoming one of, if not the show's most adored specimens, next to the Xenomorph. Weta Workshop have just shared some early concept art they provided for the T. Ocellus, showcasing the organism's invasive nature up close. We've added full size images to our gallery.

The FX series Alien Earth introduces four new species that we worked closely with creator Noah Hawley to bring to life, including nightmare fuel in the form of a cephalopod-like body snatcher.
Called the Eye Midge, this alien takes over your eye socket by using cutters inside its tentacles to sever your optic nerve. With these little blades that work like scissors, the eye pops out, the midge makes itself at home and, before you know it, it’s controlling what you do.
It can’t get much worse — except that it can. The Eye Midge uses its tentacles like a chameleon’s tongue to jump up onto your face. Want to remove it? C'est la vie. Tiny barbs make it almost impossible to pull out.
Recovered by the Weyland-Yutani USCSS Maginot as part of the company's Bio-Weapons research initiative, the T. Ocellus is a highly intelligent lifeform, capable of interspecies communication, hijacking brain and nervous systems of host organisms, and much more. Despite its small stature, the Ocellus is more than capable of taking on organisms 10 times its size and even utilizing other organisms (like unsuspecting Weyland-Yutani crew members) to combat hostile adversaries (like Xenomorphs).
Will the T. Ocellus return in Alien: Earth Season 2?
Alien: Earth has officially been renewed for a second season and filming is expected to begin early next year! Season 2 is expected to pick up where Season 1 left off and yes, the T. Ocellus is expected to return as well, since it remains on the loose after The Lost Boys and their allied Xenomorphs ransacked Prodigy Island.
