In a previous article, we took a look at some of the graphic shots cut from Brett's death. Parker's death also had some graphic scenes cut from the final film and suffered the same head crushing fate as Brett. Here we're going to take a quick look at what was cut from Parker's death as well as some earlier planned scripted ones.
Originally Ridlygrammed Parker and Lambert are hunting for the Alien when it suddenly steps behind Parker. The Alien picks him up and kills him as Lambert tries to burn the creature with a flamethrower. The Alien uses Parker's body as a shield and walks through the flames towards Lambert. In another scripted version the Alien takes a bite out of Parker, he begs for Lambert to use the flamethrower. She can no longer bare it and burns Parker alive.
In the revised final Hill & Giler draft Parker, using his flamethrower as a club manages to hit the Alien but with no effect. The Alien strikes Parker once killing him instantly.
Like with Brett Parker to has his head crushed before he is head bitten. However, this version of Parker's death isn't mentioned in magazine articles like with Brett's so instead I've pieced together Parker's scene through various production photo's as well as behind the scenes and outtake footage available.
Parker charges towards the Alien and is then hit by the creature's tail knocking him into a nearby wall.
The stuntman for Parker was Clive Curtis who was also Frost's stunt double in Aliens. Below are screenshots from behind the scenes footage.
While Parker is disorientated on the floor the Alien picks him up and slams him into the wall before grabbing his head and squeezing it.
The following screenshots are taken from outtake footage featured in the Alien Saga documentary. Unfortunately, the quality of the footage is a little poor.
Before the scene takes place some extra shots of the Alien were filmed but never used. The image below is taken from the Alien Soundtrack CD booklet.
This article isn't as detailed as I would like to have it and I hope it still interests you. The Soundtrack booklet image came from AVPGalaxy. Can't remember who posted it originally so apologies for a lack of credit.
