Looks as though by January we will now who the screenwriter is and whether or not if it will be a sequel or prequel but judging from what Scott said, it will be a sequel...without Harrison Ford.

Cinematography for this movie was incredible. Everything else I thought was mediocre at best. I categorize myself in the Blade Runner was over hyped camp.

I really enjoyed Blade Runner. I thought it was beautifully shot and the narrative was just so much different from anything else that came out in the '80s (or even today). It just didn't follow the average hollywood formula. It doesn't help that I'm a huge Phillip K. Dick fan, either lol

2001 wanted to say alot of things ...and was in my opinion just alot of smoke
Blade Runner say the few things that really matter in our existence in a simple and easy way ...
so to me bladerunner is 100000 times superior to 2001 .

Bladerunner is perhaps, the most fully realized vision of a dystopian future ever produced on celluloid and asked the audience an interesting question. However.........2001 was undeniably the most influential science fiction movie ever made; and asked essentially the same question along with others which are even more profound.....in 1968.

aside from the fact that both Blade Runner and ALIEN had the same director,
i feel these 2 film's worlds could easily coexist with one another. i think the "Ash"
model android could have easily been created by the Tyrell Corporation, rather
than what was suggested in Cameron's " world "
i could easily imagine the Nostromo's crew docking in someplace in that type of
environment, on shore leave or whatever, i know the timeline for ALIEN is much
farther in the future than Blade Runner's 2019 timeframe, but still, for me, i can
definitely see these 2 film coexisting really well together
i hope that, not only with Prometheus,
but also with this tentative follow up to Blade Runner (or prequel) that Scott
and his team simply and utterly blow away my simple mind with these possible
films, and once again put a truly hardcore science fiction story / mythos BACK
in the popular psyche of moviegoers post the late 1970's
well, at least i can hope....
