For me the directors cut of Alien3 is a frikkin' Masterpiece. Wasn't disappointed at all in it and it had the best Killing scenes of all 4 films. The Queens In Resurrection looked absolutely awesome to me, and sounded even better. 300 I agree what a bore I found that film to be, it had real good cinematography though. For me the biggest disappointment in any film I have ever felt was when I first saw "DUNE" and very surprisingly a lot of the art was first conceived for that one by H R Giger.

Alien 3 was like a episode of Eastenders for me with cgi Aliens lol even the cast and crew say it wasn't what it could have been if the studio just let Fincher do what he needed to do without interference. In the alien anthology the crew reflect on the film and say it was ok it could of been great.

When i bought Necronomicon in 1980 the stand out pic was Necronomicon 4 the alien figure that started it all It fired the imagination of just what a bizarre alien species could be like... Alien in the truest sense of the word in every aspect. What the subsequent films have done is turned the xenomorph into a bug /lizard its almost prehistoric , in the subsequent concepts nothing like how i envisioned it to be. On a Subconscious level having a blind alien makes it feel unevolved because of our association with blind creatures like bats, moles, snakes, etc ..in Necronomicon 4 the creature has huge eyes and almost human hands which gives it a unnerving supreme intelligence and the bulb at the back of its head makes you wonder what the hell goes on in that brain. I always hoped that the subsequent films after the original would explore those aspects more and define the creature with a hyper intelligence well beyond that of human understanding instead we got a iguana lizard with a biomechanical shell.

Well it didn't survive alien, so it's not that hyper intelligent, and it killed for no apparent reason which would also hint at low intelligence; however I liked the idea of a hyper intelligent bio-mech creature that eats brains kills and absorbs it's victims some how - but that isn't exactly a unique concept. I think Ridley has darker ideas with the Space Jockey thing, and the Xeno is only a piece. Remember the idea of a queen is not Ridleys concept.

THE STAR WARS PREQUELS!!!!!!!!! IMO the first 2 films should have been condensed into the 1st film and the Revenge of the Sith should have been the second film and the 3rd film should have been set when VADER was "born" and ended whe n a New Hope began.

I almost said that same thing! Thought they were really really bad, all 3 of them.l They had some fabulous scenes, like about 5 Total IMO and that's where that ended as far as I am concerned.

For me, sorry to say it....Aliens Vs Predator 2 Requiem. The only good thing I remember about the movie was the very ending. Even then I still can't believe how hoe key it was.

had HIGH HOPES for these films, sadly, they all just completely missed the mark for me ah well..... Star Wars: Return Of The Jedi Aliens Alien3 Alien Resurr ( you get the idea) Star Wars: The Phantom Menace The Village (any film from M Night Shyamalan really - sorry to say....) Halloween 1 & 2 (2007 / 2009) Star Trek (2010) The Thing (2011) i'm hoping against hope that i won't need to ad PROMETHEUS to this list! (i'm guessing i won't have to!) =)

I thought The Village was very smart and imaginative but I understand why so many people did not like that one, I also thought SIGNS was even more so...and am still trying to understand what it was exactly that was so wrong with that one, I found it MOST entertaining and HIGHLY ORIGINAL ! His last two, "Airbender", and "Devil" were rediculous !!! & the one with the dust or wind or whatever with Wallberg, I forget what it was called, highly original idea that failed miserably as half of that film was total garbage too...it's sad, he had so much promise when he made Signs, but never grew as a director from there.

The alien kills for no apparent reason ? well so do the human race and yet we call ourselves the most civilized species on earth so theirs no argument there and from its birth it was surrounded by humans that wanted to kill it from the onset and may have- had it not been for Ash screaming don't touch it don't touch it. I'm basing all my theories on what i witnessed very early in the 1980s after seeing Necronomicon and all the additional themes that book explored to my mind most of the imagery in that book was from the same universe and some of that would have been great to have been included in subsequent films after the initial alien. It would have been an expensive undertaking but it also would have given the films a whole new perspective to explore instead of focusing on the character of ripley as a crucial element for driving a script.

I'd grown out of 'Star Wars' by the time the three prequels came along, which was just as well since they were shite. The recent prequel/remake/atrocity of 'The Thing' was a low but even that wasn't as bad as 'Battle LA', which I felt like demanding a box-office refund for. It's nice to live in hope that 'Prometheus' will be good since there's never anything else worth waiting for or seeing in mainstream cinema these past...oh say 10, 15 years?

Children of Men The Day the Earth Stood Still Iron Man 2 (The first was quite good...but I didn't buy into the 2nd with him being blind drunk and partying in his Iron Man suit...It was truly a cringe worthy moment and destroyed the entire film for me)

@Frantz Inception? WTF mate, that is a brilliant film. Usually people that don't understand it can't appreciate it for what it is lol. Christopher Noland is a brilliant director

Nice to see someone else didn't care for 'Inception' - I've given up twice at about 20 minutes in, driven away by the sullen, portentous, humourless tone.

Ok this thread is so old...but here is my 2cent worth... I kinda enjoyed the first Grudge movie.....it actually really scared me cause I have never seen the original "youn: The Grudge"...(or something like that) ....i am almost to scared to watch it cause everyone who has seen it warns me it is much scarier than the americanized remake. The grudge 2 and 3 sucked ass tho....huge disappointment! I loved Watchmen....but I have never read the graphic novels it was based upon ...so I had no expectations... Battle Los Angeles was boring and a huge disappointment that seemed to drag on forever. I hated "the day after tomorrow" and don't even get me started on "Godzilla" or "Armageddon".....I don't get why people cry in that movie...and everybody loves it...I wanted to cry cause I spend money watching it! last Indiana Jones ....awful! I desperately wanne see "The Thing 2011"....people seem to either love or hate it...somehow I think I am gonna love it!....i'm waiting for the dvd release. Hated the village...!...tho not entirely...it started of ok and the ending was interesting...that suit pissed me of tho!...ruined the whole movie! Inception was ok ...but a bit of a torture to watch...u could not just relax and U had to sit their and make sure u don't miss even the faintest plot detail....! I got it in the end tho...I think..:) Loved Peter Jacksons "King Kong" tho....amazing, brilliant.....one of my all time favorites! Star wars prequels....they were ok!....but I never even really enjoyed the originals...so i am hardly a Star Wars fan. Loved "Avatar"....but I never really got caught up in the hype....so I had no idea what to expect? I found both AVP movies to be moderately enjoyable but largely forgettable! The biggest disappointment of all time was the made for Tv rendition of Stephan King's "IT"....
