MemberOvomorph01/17/2012Well, it depends on where the giant face
is revealed. On earth or on the
unknown planet where they land?
But since it is obcious, that the
SJ in Alien was only a biomechanic suit,
It really could be a humanoid who look
Similar to humans.
The SJ might be really the blue bold guy
seen in the teaser trailer who looks
quite similar to Seth from StreetFighter IV.

MemberOvomorph01/17/2012no its in space...we see a few shots of them exploring the place while in space suits with their helmets on..thing is the annunaki are depicted as human as well just larger than us....and then yeah there is that large blue guy..the fact is the space jockey suits also reveal that whatever they are they are bipedal, have two arms, two legs

MemberOvomorph01/17/2012once again, absolutely the lowest analytical skills and deductive powers are being used by the op.
first of all, what makes you think the space jockeys are supposed to represent annunaki?
secondly, if everything the jockeys designed or collected looked like them, how do you explain the alien or the facehugger?
thirdly, don't raise questions with a single sentence. especially when it's based off a bunch of rather dimwitted assumptions.
also, that guy is not the space jockey. it's either another race or a mutant. but it's not the jockey. they already revealed the jockey skull(with cranial suture marks) and it looks exactly how it should. like a non-humanoid.

MemberOvomorph01/18/2012Agreed, the giant head doesn't necessarily reveal that the SJ is a humanoid. Also agreed 100% on the cranial suture lines.
There's still so many possibilities since they're connecting this story to the myth in more ways than just the name of the ship. The Titan race should be assisting humanity and the gods punishing the Titan race should be a separate group. Gods have repeatedly punished humans in religious tales too, so that could come later. We know there is at least some Egyptian influence, and possibly Sumerian (where the flood tale appeared); so, I think they could be drawing from a lot of world mythology and UFOlogy to expand the alien universe in a huge way. I'll focus on the Greek for now but mention the equivalents.
In the Greek myths we have the Demi-gods, gods, Titans(Elder Gods), Giants, and a variety of monsters mentioned:
Demi-gods- (mixture of god and human) Tall, pale, & importance of blue can all be related to Egyptian god kings, Olympian gods, Eastern Indian mythology & Krishna, Atlantean legends + many, many races in UFOlogy and alien astronaut theory; fallen angels, Annunaki etc. We may have seen this guy already. These are the emissaries of the gods, the race between man and the "gods" that makes communication with them possible.
the gods- like Zeus they are depicted as human to a degree (these may be an even larger giant humanoid or an otherwise altered Pearce in the movie). Not the blue helper guys. Something we haven't seen yet. These are the same gods who punished Prometheus when he tried to help man, and may be an antagonist in this movie when a Titan does so again. Not the true gods that the Titans formerly were. They fiercely guard the technology stolen from the Elder gods and didn't want other humanoids to have the flame. Humans may give birth to or even become giants, monsters, or demi-gods when their genetics are mixed with these gods. Also, when they interbreed ala Zeus cheating on Rhea with all the mortal women and producing the demi-gods Herakles and Dionysios or some of the other monstrous offspring sometimes produced when higher beings got together with each other and humans. Herakles, a demi-god, frees Prometheus from his bonds so Prometheus can continue to help humanity.
Originally created by the Titans as Earth humans were, gravity was different on their world which produced a different body size. Gaia foretold that this child, Zeus, would eventually dethrone its maker, Kronos (the original GOD JOCKEY from millions of years ago). When the gods interbred with man in the ancient past they begot the smaller giants, the Atlanteans/Nephillim/demi-gods, and took them off Earth along with the Titans representing the end of the war of Titans in the mythology.
I believe all this back-story will be alluded to within the film so that it all matches up with the myths.
The Titan race- also formerly known as the Elder gods in some forms of the myths. The original 6 Elder gods (of which Prometheus isn't a member) were overthrown by the Olympian gods, mainly by Zeus when he castrated Kronos. Somewhat of a subordinate class after the war against the Titans was won by the gods of Mt. Olympus. Comparable to some of the choirs of angels and archangels. In this movie, I will almost guarantee that whatever represents Prometheus (apart from the ship) will be a non-humanoid giant creature.
Monsters & giants/the vulture from the story - Giants are sometimes thought to have been created by the Titans like humans were, according to Greek literature. When Zeus fathers the half-mortal Herakles, Herakles comes out massive in size, human in appearance. Other hybrids are not as lucky and are born as monstrosities. The gods would also sometimes use some sort of a monster to make the lives of the demi-gods/ other gods, mortals, and various other characters more difficult.
I think almost all the beings will use suits and there will be multiple classes, & multiple sizes. The Jockeys are the pilots and remain suited for much of the movie. Demi-gods assist the pilots and act as mechanics for the ship. The non-humanoid reveal will come after we think it's just differing sizes of human giants in the suits. Ridley will continue to play with us even when we see the other, larger giant humanoids. The Pilot race turns out to be incredibly different & attempts to help the humans.
The sub-classes are differing degrees of "giants" in my theory so maybe 2 sizes of god/demi-god, one non-humanoid Jockey class + monsters. The Jockeys are the true ancient seeders of life. The disc in the trailer. The gods just hijacked their tech and used it to appear as gods in the ancient past. That's why I think the Jockey being a slave race idea is true, and why Prometheus is still so willing to help us against the gods.
The "gods" still fiercely guard their tech and humans and the Jockey both suffer the consequences.
An alternate to having the crew literally birth monsters and giants when exposed to the genetics of the gods is the mutation plot-line that's been thrown around.
Maybe it's half and half: producing monsters and mutating into giants.
David is our messenger character Hermes. He may communicate with all the classes/ characters. May also be transformed and given his wings by the gods, becoming a pilot and being able to travel to distant locations to make contact with those worlds.

Herakles, a demi-god, freed Prometheus from his bonds (the gods' punishment) so that Prometheus could be free to help humanity, disobeying the wishes of the gods. This may be important. The god in this story might not look the other way like Zeus did with his son Herakles after the Jockey is free to help the humans.

Gaia foretold that this child, Zeus, would eventually dethrone its maker, Kronos (the original GOD JOCKEY from millions of years ago). With the gods now solely in control of the Earth. Sometimes sending down the functioning hybrids, the demi-gods.

There that's my breakdown of how it could go and why there is still huge potential for the Jockey to be a non-humanoid.

MemberOvomorph01/18/2012Just to prove a point, the Ancient Egyptians built statues of "Gods" who looked nothing like us. Stands to reason an alien species can do the same. . .

MemberOvomorph01/18/2012walterhiller...thanks for your asshead comments. my point with the annunaki is the symbol of weyland yutani being that ancient summerian symbol with the wings and then there is another image of annunaki depicted as large humans with the humans aka their creations under some urns...but why would the jockeys make a giant human head unless say they created us and the urns are like our building blocks or somthing and the head is there to represent us, but i doubt that
