Ridley mentions Giger's input as murals for the film - I'm guessing this is one of them.
May also suggests that the SJs worship the Xenos....

Suppose the ship is "grown", and part of that growth process results in the ship's frame, such as the entrance seen in the photo, being secreted. That entrance looks like xenomorph secretions from subsequent films. What if biological material from the ship itself is included in xenomorph DNA?
