I was emailed this today. Not sure if its the same "plot leak" that's already been posted here. I haven't had time to cross reference, but regardless, here you go guys. If it is the same one, let me know. Otherwise, discuss. ----------------------------------------- Future Earth in the year 2058. Humanity has made great technological achievements. However, while searching in Africa for evidence from the past, archeologists unveil the ultimate surprise shock stun when scientists discover extraterrestrial alien artifacts, which seem to reveal that Mankind was genetically created by a mega advanced alien extraterrestrial species, who are known as the giant Space Jockeys from the first Alien movie directed by legendary filmmaker Ridley Scott. Even more startling, the extraterrestrial alien gods terraformed all of Earth to provide a planet, which could safely harbor the life of the new Humans. The search by the Humans of the dig area uncovers the location in space of the alien extraterrestrial home world, which is called Paradise. After a few months pass, the Weyland Corp sends the Prometheus star ship with a Human crew in order to make first contact with the extraterrestrials aliens amongst the stars. With the ability to harness faster than light propulsion, after several years have elapsed the Prometheus arrives at the Zeta Riticuli star system. First contact is successfully achieved with the alien extraterrestrial creators peacefully welcoming the Humans. Next, the extraterrestrials aliens take the Humans to a frightening planet of great wonder. The alien extraterrestrial gods approve of their Human children, who have impressive accomplishments and the Humans learn they are the first of these children to rise to this level of primitive intelligence. The extraterrestrials aliens share some of their ultra mega advanced technology with the Humans because the Humans have earned the right to be further uplifted as a civilization. Treachery among the Humans strikes as a member of the Prometheus crew doesn't believe the aliens extraterrestrials have shared enough technology with Earth. In fact, this traitor takes the biological source code to the extraterrestrial alien terraforming technology, which is the basis for the great powers of the alien extraterrestrial gods. With this awesome technology, the Humans could become equal with the aliens extraterrestrials. While the extraterrestrial alien creators are accomplished scientists, they are also a political and military empire controlled by many ultra great military geniuses. In fact, the aliens extraterrestrials have actually destroyed many planets during their imperial expansion. The extraterrestrial alien gods are highly angered by the Humans trying to become their equals. In order to stop the fleeing Humans, the aliens extraterrestrials send a bio weapon creature monster, which has the purpose of preparing deadly worlds for habitable colonization. Yet the plan backfires as the Humans are able to make the bio weapon creature monster attack its extraterrestrial alien makers. It turns out the Humans cause the monster to become extremely smarter, more ruthless and much bigger. This new creature destroys Paradise. The surviving members of the Prometheus space crew leave the fallen alien extraterrestrial world. However, while the Humans travel back to Earth, one of the extraterrestrial alien gods has survived and is determined to unleash the alien extraterrestrial wrath as the shock of the gods against the citizens of Earth.

@ Snorkelbottom I don't know what your deal is, but I prefer good imaginative ideas and the forums to discuss them. I do not like veiled innuendos bordering on insults. Since I do not know you personally why do you find it difficult to believe I could agree with you just as easily as disagree. My comments are based on my opinions, and not the poster to whom I am replying. If this is all an attempt at humor please remember you cannot convey tone in a post. If it is not humor then keep any personal comments about me to yourself.

Its called British sarcasm Rakkasan, very, very dry humour. Think of the TV series Frasier, but as dry as a desert. Words of advice - better get used to it, some are drier than me (I wont mention no names), do not take anything anyone says personally, they are just words and most importantly lighten up. As Yoda once said "These are the ways of the forum, be mindful of your emotions, they will betray you"

That seems rather hypocritical because you chastised Tec-B in another post (about the Weyland-Yutani logo) for what you perceived to be an insult. It is such an easy excuse to say whatever you want and then follow with "it's only a joke" or "you don't understand my humor". A famous comedian once said that a joke that has to be explained isn't funny. He was British. Went by the name of Dudley Moore. For the record I enjoy British humor. Spent many years stationed in Germany and fell in love with BBC (especially Dr. Who). British humor is dry, but it's also very witty. Your version of "humor" is nothing like that.

Nah not going for this one, the SJ's sound too reasonable. I think they will be completely amoral and the humans will be treated like the insignificant beings that Scott is trying to convey. Plus as someone else mentioned it reads like a 12 year old wrote it. I reckon the whole theme of the film will be, and I quote....."that we're all just these little gnats crawling around on our little planet" Depressing & disturbing, it will poke fun at our ideas and ideals. Religion and morality are firmly in the cross hairs. @ Snorks, british sarcasm is the lowest form of wit, maybe you should tone it down a bit and try and be a little bit less abrasive.

If you follow up on the Tec-B business we actual did have a full on disagreement and chastised each other, then we made up and shook hands (metaphorically speaking) and have been friends since. I have never insulted you, but it seems like your trying to insult me and I am at a loss as to why, if you don't get my humour then thats fine there are many others that do. I gave you some friendly advice and it seems you have thrown it back in my face, fine. BTW - Dudley Moore was never funny, ever.

I agree Enderwiggin. A pleasant, welcome SJ alien race would be a Speilberg movie, but this is Ridley film. Ridley will heap on the mystery, tension and horror. I suspect Ridley will keep us wondering what the space jockey race really looks like until the end of the film just as in the original 'Alien'.

Interesting theory...I would suggest whilst not the actual plot there are quite plausible aspects to this. I would be pleased if this ended up as the movie. Bring it on.....!

Very little of this plot sounds interesting to me. There are few elements about it that work, such as sending the derelict toward earth. But when it speaks of the alien race welcoming humans and having a political and military empire, well, that sounds like real garbage! How ridiculous is it to have an alien world's structure similar to that of humans? Very mundane and disappointing for a mysterious and scary alien universe. An alien world, in my opinion, should be a very bizarre experience and unlike anything we've ever seen, chock full of mysteries that keep you coming back for more (ie- the Space Jockey in Alien). Ridley can, however, take a simple formula and create high art with it. He surely can do it with Prometheus. I've heard better and more wondrous theories and story suppositions on this forum that are so fantastic, theories I'd LOVE to see!

@ Rakkasan Snorkelbottom's just an ass. Don't let his generous heaping dosage of swine fodder dampen your spirit. He may have severe problems and is medicated. Poor fella.

Anyway, back to Prometheus. As others have said, I also feel the script is too simplistic and mundane. Alien worlds, in my opinion, are just that-- far out and bizarre. Ridley loves to spin a good yarn and leave something open ended to keep us coming back for more. Or perhaps a conclusion with two or more directions the story could be going, uncertain of which path to take (ie- David Lynch). Ridley did say epic! Weeeeeee!

@draekus Ah now that is very interesting to know. I wonder which one it might be? I'd also be interested to find out how it actually leaked. Did you source shed any light on anything else regarding the film?

I don't believe the plot line to Prometheus would be anywhere that near that epic. Certainly, there will be epic shots, but horror tends to work better when more time is spent getting to know the characters rather than painting them as archetypes. Alien, for example, was essentially a character driven story with brief moments of action. Also, literally half the film was spent developing the ambience of the situation. I think Prometheus will move along those lines. As long as were talking possible plot lines. Historically, explorations have ended four ways. 1. The expedition encountered difficulties and had to turn back early. Nothing of interest discovered. 2. The expedition returns with stories of untold wonders and artifacts. 3. The expedition returns with stories of untold horrors and physical depredations. 4. The expedition disappears without a trace, and maybe its fate is discovered later. With Ridley Scott at the helm, I would put my money on three and four.

Scott has talked about "ancient astronaut theories"......ugh. The notion that a vastly superior intelligence which has survived long enough to conquer the interstellar void would share their technology with us...........well, it's just utter codswallop. Absolutely no good could come from any such gifting, because we'd instantly set about finding out how we could use whatever it was, to off each other/gain a competitive advantage. End of story. It would only work if the SJs shared their tech, just to screw with us; to see how much of a mess they could make of our civilization.

@Mentos No, unfortunately. I don't know him/her that well so that's all they shared with me. They did say that the actual script was great though. (and I trust their judgement).

@Snorkelbottom: I'm a big Monty Python fan. Now every time I read a post from you I'll be hearing John Cleese. As for the story line... Ehhh... Sorry to disappoint but it sounds less than epic to me. It's all been done before. I sure hope the SJ's aren't friendly... Not ever. Just void of conscience and totally badass. The beginning sounds about right, but I don't think anyone (any human) survives to return.
