The Giger Project

Hey Crew.... "The Giger Project" is all about your Giger inspired work. Whether it be story or illustrative. Being that the news is pretty dead now with nothing new, this will help cover the time... I like to encourage all artist's to submit work and use the picture to tell us who you are and what impact Alien and Giger's work has on you and your work in the art world. Let's have fun with this and keep the art work, let's see what talent we have here in the "Prometheus/Alien" universe.... Sound fun? As Bill Paxton would say, "World express elevator to hell, going down!" Cain

Alright! I don't feel like a complete idiot anymore! I got my pics to post! (Too complicated to explain here. PM me if you're having problems too.) Image 1: Me sculpting a roach out of chicken-wire covered with masking tape. All the detail is actually just masking tape rolled up or bunched up into body detail. Then I covered that with more masking tape. And finished it off with multiple layers of resin. I use the masking tape as the "poor man's" fiberglass. This is one of 3 roaches that help make up this piece. Image 2: Front view of roach. Image 3: The first roach is positioned behind a lower human mandible. The mandible and teeth are made with the same procedure as the roach. Image 4: The piece is one of my 13 "aural sculptures". They are sculptures that "sing" to you as you approach them. This piece (still missing the 2nd and 3rd roaches) is entitled: "Do the Roaches Really Want Nuclear War?" The first roach is the bartender, the molars are the bar stools, and the other 2 roaches (not yet pictured) are the patrons enjoying a toast. When you walk up to the sculpture, you trigger an .mp3 player that plays the tune I wrote (same name as the piece). The second roach is sculpted and skinned but not detailed yet. A 6 ft. ladder can be seen to the right for scale.

Db can you go back and edit your posts and just paste the link as plain text? Hopefully we could then copy it into our address bar and maybe see your pics until a staff member gets around to fixing them.

DB & Bio, I just checked the posts that Db put up and they're empty. I have found this to be a glitch that happens after editing your post and then updating. I will discuss this with Bughunter. Rick

Biomechanic, those images are truly gorgeous and erotic especially the pointy tongued woman. The amber, shady creature ,the fifth, sixth, eighth and tenth pics are superb. Snorkel, your work reminds me a lot of Chris Foss, very impressive! Here's my stuff:

here you go Starbeast. rather than post link to many pics, here is one link to all my works, you need to click here >my artworks and you can look thru the gallery that is labled "FUTURA" , and another gallery that is labeled "DOODLES" sorry, there are no direct links to individual galleries available on the Blue Canvas site that has my art you can click on the image page, and see each piece in HI REZ i must say, after seeing all the GREAT Giger-esque artwork on here, mine looks a lot more Ron Cobb inspired, and my work is traditional, rather than the great 3D digital renders, and Photoshop images that most of you fine folks have posted on here my artistic insecurity is on HIGH ALERT right now, but i thought i'd share, since you all seem to have the moxie
