This is allegedly a piece of insider info. Take it with huge grain of salt, and most importantly, if you don't like spoilers, proceed at your own risk. It does not reveal the Ending. "...Prometheus is far more brooding and intense than the average movie today. It is not an action film, although it certainly does have more action than a movie like Alien. Prometheus is not a movie about answering questions raised in Alien at all. Its an extension of them. The company are involved, yet are not yet as sinister as they will become. However they are immoral in a lot of ways. Walt Disney was an inspiration for the character of David in particular one of there movies. Time travel and the manipulation of reality are a part of Prometheus. No there are no wormholes. This does tie in with Alien as it does with all of the "Alien" franchise, perhaps that is a better way to put it. However the single biggest tie to the original Alien is as has been stated its DNA and the "alleged" gods who had use of it. This may be disappointing to you upon reading however have faith, Prometheus is certainly going to be PG13. Oh and by the way, this movie need to be watched in IMAX. Do not go and see Prometheus in your standard theatre, even though you will be able to, it will not be the same experience. Ridley Scott has raised the game considerably. I hear Jim Cameron was very impressed when he was shown a rough assembly. This is really long already but I would also like to point out the H.R.G. is involved in the production, has designed key sets (the face of god) and a few more (big) surprises. In some sense, Prometheus is a little like what it would have been like for the crew of the Nostromo to have boarded the derelict and stayed there. In a way. Hard to describe but you will eventually see for yourselves. One last thing. The universe of Prometheus and of the entire saga is of the same universe of that of Blade Runner. The "Alien" as you remember it, does not feature in Prometheus. Similar incarnations do. They are much bigger too, and 80% practical. God it turns out really doesn't care about us God may indeed have made man in his own image As you should now know, the Derelict, (or the soon to be derelict) stands vertical, it also spins, fast. The gods/engineers/SpaceJokeys/humans ? are anamatronic and huge. Their babies are bigger. Nobody knows the ending. Except those directly involved in its shoot, and execution." The adult in me goes: "OK, interesting, but mostly, yeah, right.." The kid in me however is jumping up and down! I want to believe this rumor so much!

For a start blade runner is a warner bros owned production recently the rights have been purchased to allow for a sequel but regardless the warner bros company own distribution and they wont allow fox to march on their territory when ridleys already penciled in to make the sequel. This is nonsense i figured most on these forums had more sense apparently not. use your common sense people dont start paying lip service to banal rumours spread on the friggin internet its a hub of disinformation when will you learn anyone connected with any film these days are contracted and sworn by secrecy to keep quiet plot details, you can lose your job, reputation, and get sued in the process and never work in the industry again, so its without doubt utter bs get a grip until its official dont let your imagination run away with you .

@Shambala but are only rumours, in fact so says it this thread in its title and whose only mistake IMHO was to place the words big spoiler… In my experience some of the rumors may or may not make it into the film, but if some of it actually end up in the movie, I guess it is not wrong to include Spoiler warning. Just being forum-friendly, Jesus! @alteredstate For a start blade runner is a warner bros owned production...use your common sense people dont start paying lip service to banal rumours spread on the friggin internet its a hub of disinformation Damon Lindelof: "...ALIEN/BLADE RUNNER mash-up..." at 0:36. Not my words, Damon's words, you know, the screenwriter. Also, big companies sanction leaks, rumors, real & fake, to create buzz, hello? Apple does this all the time. Remember the lost iPhone prototype? They lost it ....twice! Get some news coverage, instant sale boost. The stock gained 70 points during 4th quarter 2011. It is the second largest US company by market cap after Exxon. Just an example what a big company would do for a buzz. And c'mon Jesus, this is a fan forum, furGadsake, not journalism, lol!! I love reading speculations, wild ideas, as long as it is ALIEN related. Make me dream about the kind of movies not thought up yet.

Certainly rumors can join an official plot, but what I meant is the apparent displeasure that some people seem to feel respect the idea of Blade Runner, Prometheus and Alien may have some sort of link. As I said I do not think something so incoherent, on the contrary I think the idea would be pretty well...

The theory this thread is based on is interesting, but very cliched I found. The only part I liked was how one of the characters fits in with the actual Prometheus mythology in early human history. I just hope that this movie IS dark/gritty and horrifying! Not some crappy pg-13/12a rating, or I'll be majorly pissed. . .

That quote from Damon about Prometheus being an ALIEN/BLADE RUNNER mash-up is interesting, but I think we are taking it too literal. I'm guessing we won't see actual Blade Runners (police division that hunt down replicants). We might see David called a replicant which is basically an artificial person. Maybe we'll see a reference to Tyrell Corporation (I doubt it, but maybe), or even a reference to artificial persons with implanted fake memories. Call me crazy, but I don't think a character named Deckard will be a member of the crew.

@Kane77, Yeah I know the crash at the end of Ressurection was on Earth. What I meant is that there is no point of reference that would link 'Bladerunner' and the 'Alien' universe so it is entirely possible that they co-exhist in the same universe. A few seconds of crash footage and deleted scenes of Ridley 8 and Call talking by the wreckage is not enough to establish more than Earth, France, Paris......

Walt Disney, took aside every single person he hired personally aside, and told them this... "'round here, we keep moving forward" "not matter what, just keep moving forward" Just FYI, I always liked that, there was more, much more to it, but that's the "jist" of it

@Engr... yes i saw that months ago i'm reading between the lines here but to me that suggests tone alien blade runner mash up could mean anything that's not a confirmation that the films are being linked directly im guessing that there are tonal elements that could be considered elements from alien/blade runner in the sense of artificial life/genetics, or look, i cant see there being a tyrell corp or reference to nexus models etc . I can see references that explore the same themes as both of those movies like mortality, possible crisis of conscious from artificial life forms androids and alien sympathy. and the possibility that the biomechanic is born from the artificial life. ENGR...."And c'mon Jesus, this is a fan forum, furGadsake, not journalism", a lot of what you say is correct in as much companys create artificial news to create buzz etc but that was just damon speaking on the spur of the moment to a JOURNALIST using those two films to give an overall sense of tone in my humble opinion. Ok yes wild speculation is fun enjoy yourselves.

@Jeffomorph I don't think PROMETHEUS would lead directly to the rumored BLADE RUNNER sequel which Ridley is gong to do (this may turn out to be false as Ridley is now linked to a project called THE COUNSELOR developed by a writer of NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN). But I would say it is interesting that the movie would use the idea of Replicants/Slaves made popular by BLADE RUNNER. I don't think you would see a noodle-eating Bounty Hunter chasing renegade androids in PROMETHEUS.

If any of you have read Chariot of the Gods by Erich von Daniken then you'll have an idea about PROMETHEUS. It's really the story of who is out there, the ones making the stars, and possibly if someone is trying to screw humanity over (okay maybe that opinion would get me killed if I was in a Sci Fi but sue me).

@Flying Lion I think Ridley Scott, who seldom makes a light-hearted movie, would go for a more pessimistic view of the Gods.

Quote: Putting both Alien and Bladerunner in the same universe is like putting Star Wars and Star Trek in the same universe. I just can't see it. -Ripley Clone 8 I don´t see why this wouldn´t be possible. Star Trek originates from earth and Star Wars is in a completely different part of the universe, remember....universe is a biiiiiig place. Takes thousands of years light-speed to go the the closest known planetary system from our solar system. Would be interesting with Bladerunner as a reference to how earth has developed while Nostromo and all the "space-truckers" are out doing the hard work. Ripley doesn´t even go to earth at the start of Aliens, shes in a hospital orbiting earth. Although..... I think fans and likewise have put together statements from R.Scott and crew to be just fantazising rumours. Even if I see the connection as intriguing. Stating that Prometheus is like a Blade Runner/Alien movie could be just a description of the over-all feel/look of the movie and not something that will be mixed together. If the universes really are the same, then a Sequel to Alien-Resurrection would be much more interesting with Ripley coming to earth gone Blade Runner style, than what S. Weaver had as suggestion for a 5th alien movie when she turned it down. Just can´t wait until Prometheus is out....feels like a child again waiting for that special, butterflies in the stomach (don´t know if that´s a saying in english but in swedish it is)

I read Scott is already thinly what he's going to do for a sequel.
