It doesnt mean that scripts/ideas etc cant be worked on..... I would imagine that it will take at least two years before a sequel will be released and it wont be confirmed until FOX assesses how Promethues performs in June.

Do we really need a third thread on Prometheus 2? Anyway, here is a bit of info about it.

From the site, about 1/4 of the way down:
Blade Runner
Director Ridley Scott address the Harrison Ford rumors, saying that he's not even sure yet whether Rick Deckard will even be in the movie — but if he is, then Scott says that "nothing would please me more" than a reunion with Ford. He also gives this update on the current state of development:
We're still in discussions about whether it should be a prequel or sequel. It's an interesting conversation. I'm meeting with writers and I've also gone back to [original Blade Runner screenwriter] Hampton Fancher and he still speaks the speak. He's right there. I spoke with him this week. But we don't even have a script yet.
Finally, he says that he is doing this in part because he enjoyed the experience of making Prometheus so much. Speaking of which...

Prometheus 2
Ridley Scott revealed this: "I'm also thinking about what the hell I might do for a Prometheus 2." Clearly, when Scott goes back to science fiction after thirty years, he does not mess around.

Exactly Seashells! Regardless of Ridley's enthusiasm for a sequel, it's all gonna' come down to the final box-office sales. This movie has got to appeal to the greater Sci-Fi fanbase in general and not just to us hard core Alien-fanatics. Only time will tell.

I'd rather see a Prometheus sequel than a Blade Runner one! Although a sequel to Prometheus won't probably be out till 2015 I'd have thought, as I doubt Ridley will want it clashing with the second Avatar movie. . .
