I apologize the topic title was obnoxious but what i have to say is all buisness. Due to the release of a stunning hi res shot of the [url=http://www.prometheus-movie.com/news/119]"Star Map"[/url] we've pretty much confirmed that this room is on the[b] derelict ship[/b]. [url=http://www.prometheus-movie.com/community/forums/topic/1841#19735]Let's have some thread support[/url] , shall we? [img]http://www.prometheus-movie.com/uploads/prometheusmovie-starmap-big.jpg[/img] This leads me to ask if it isnt the "[i]Star Map[/i]" that Weylan and/or the crew find that sends them on their epic journey, then what is it?!

You would assume that it has some real significance to the whole story, wouldn't you? If the sj's are engineers if sentient life, maybe it's a map of where they have been and what they have done. On the other hand, maybe it's just a cool 3d map of the known universe, there for us to look at in wonder.

I'm pretty certain that the starmap room is on the derelict, although in the movie the ship will be anything BUT derelict! Toward the back of the ship there is a small dome between the middle of the rear of the two arms. That is where I believe this room is, and IMO it is a navigation room/bridge, where the space jockey chair is a hi-tech tool for controlling travel to anywhere on that 3-D map. Sort of point-and-click!

@Gromster - True! I think this room with the star map WILL be on a ship, but surely the SJ's have more than 1 "Derelict" class spaceship?? I'd have thought a race that powerful would have potentially hundreds, perhaps that one we saw in Alien was a kinda Noah's Ark of their civilization. . . It was the last of their race on a mission, but was destroyed by a Xenomorph. . .

The dig with Shaw as a child and Shaws father leads to an intrest in space travel and our origin for weyland. The clues point to a destination in space(mars perhaps, we've seen a red planet with rocks) there they find the ampoules and the giant head and perhaps something else we haven't seen yet thT leads them to their ultimate destination and their fight with the derelict ship. Maybe it's over LV-426 at this point?
