MemberOvomorphMar-25-2012 7:44 PMIt is clear Shaw is raped in this film by someone, or something with the SOUL intention of impregnating her.
So why impregnant Shaw? Easy, this is how the SJ is going to punish humanity for their..well whatever crime they commit against the SJ in this movie.
The Xeno's as we know them are the perfect killing machine... perfect for killing humans that is. They counter us in every way possible. Hand to hand we stand no chance.
Sure a Xeno born of dog or predator may take on certain traits making them differ in appearance, but look at the basics... they still have the elongated head with inner mouth perfect for breaking through an object as durable as the human skull, arms and hands perfect for grabbing us, legs able to out run us, tails perfect for impaling us, and even their very blood essence... the ability to melt our flesh in seconds... all of the tools they need to completely dominate your run of the mill humanoid. Unarmed no human would have a chance in hell against it.
Take 1000 unarmed humans versus 1 Xeno, and they would still all perish. (Granted thats not what happened in Alien 3, but you get the idea. 1000 Humans in an open field with one Xeno, and the Xeno will have enough food to last him a lifetime.
Which leads to an obvious conclusion (couldn't help myself lol). Whatever "seed" Shaw is impregnated with would probably behave just like a human fetus, and the Alien Emryo alike. It would acquire certain characteristics from its host. It would know how we are built, what we are made of, and all of our weaknesses on a genetic level.
If a highly advanced alien species with an interest in bio-engineering, such as these Space Jockey's, wanted to punish another species such as humanoids... how would they do it? If they wanted to wipe out a species, what better way than say disease, or a natural predator to that species? A predator such as the Xeno's specifically bio-engineered to counter all of our strengths and defenses simple by reproducing as all living organisms set out to do.
The creature that Shaw gives birth to in this movie, is probably the first "humanoid" Xeno of its kind. Created solely for the annihilation, of us.
The next question is, where does the "essence" of the xeno genes come from... is this the black ooze? Its probably something we haven't seen yet. Whatever is it, it was engineered to be the "Anti-Life".
The Xeno "essence", is probably the SJ's eraser.

MemberOvomorphMar-25-2012 7:44 PMThe only problem with this life cycle is that it isn´t a cycle...

MemberFacehuggerMar-25-2012 8:38 PMI have no idea what that thing is. It obviously grows fast enough to be able to hit a window with a tentacle minutes later, but I can't even speculate as to what it grows into. An engineer is the only thing that wouldn't be an entirely new organism. It ain't a facehugger or any type of egg. Even though I have to revant some earlier posts based on that.
Safe? Of course he isn't safe, but he's good!

MemberOvomorphMar-26-2012 12:22 AMThere's at least two other discussions regarding this in detail, one even has a whole theory on the goddess Nut that was posted by BioMechanic A while back.

MemberOvomorphMar-26-2012 12:49 AMThanks for posting a clearer picture of the birthed creature. From my initial viewing of the trailers I couldn't tell what it was at all.
But, now that I do have a better idea of what it is I am a little disappointed that it basically just looks like a big squid. I was hoping it would be something totally unfamiliar in a way. Of course, I don't know all the details and it may end up being something totally different, but the squid-like creature doesn't seem as original...
