MemberOvomorphMar-09-2012 12:18 PMHello everyone, my thread is dedicated to video games that have somehow been influenced by the Alien franchise, some to a greater or lesser degree and notoriety.
METROID

Metroid Is a series of action-adventure video game science fiction, the idea was conceived by Makoto Kano and artistaHiroji Kiyotake in the early 1980's, originally directed by Gunpei Yokoi and Nintendo distributed internationally by a Japanese video game company. The term "Metroid" is a contraction of the words "metro" (as a transport system) and "android" ("android"), and was intended to make mention of the main underground environment that appears in the first game, and the robotic aspect that holds the protagonist.

Metroid chronicles the missions of bounty hunter Samus Aran, who tries to protect the galaxy from the depredations of the Space Pirates and their attempts to harness the power of the creatures 'Metroid', a race of predatory organisms that have the ability to obtain power of different living things.

The franchise has been frequently cited as one of the first in the games industry whose plot centers on a female protagonist, and is noted for its game system not lineal.1 3 Among the influences mentioned by the same developers are the above series of the same company Mario by the combination of his style of game platforms, and The Legend of Zelda-examination by the appearance of both possess-, 1 and has even been expressed about the atmosphere of the movie Alien.
STARCRAFT

StarCraft is a military science fiction real-time strategy video game developed by Blizzard Entertainment. The first game of the StarCraft series was released for Microsoft Windows on 31 March 1998.

Set in the 26th century, the game revolves around three species fighting for dominance in a distant part of the Milky Way galaxy known as the Koprulu Sector: the Terrans, humans exiled from Earth skilled at adapting to any situation; the Zerg, a race of insectoid aliens in pursuit of genetic perfection, obsessed with assimilating other races; and the Protoss, a humanoid species with advanced technology and psionic abilities, attempting to preserve their civilization and strict philosophical way of living from the Zerg. The game has been praised for pioneering the use of unique factions in real-time strategy gameplay and for a compelling story.
Here we find the Terran and Zerg, two races appear to have been inspired by the concept of insectoid James Cameron's Aliens and Colonial Marines.

Moreover, in this universe there is a mysterious alien race called The Xel'Naga. The Xel'Naga play Important roles in the backstories to the Protoss and Zerg Both, Being responsible for Manipulating the evolution of the two races, Along With an unknown number of other species. It was speculated Could That a player controls the Xel'Naga in StarCraft II and although firmly denied this Has Been by Blizzard Entertainment, They Have Confirmed the Xel'Naga will Contribute to the game's storyline "in A Rather epic tale". (As my personal opinion is inevitable comparison with the Space Jockeys / Engineers.
MASS EFFECT

Mass Effect is a series of sci-fi action role-playing video games developed by the Canadian company BioWare and released for the Xbox 360, Microsoft Windows and, from the second installment, for the PlayStation 3. The first game in the trilogy centers around a player-created character named Commander Shepard and his/her mission to save the galaxy from a race of mechanical beings known as the Reapers, and its followers, including Saren Arterius. The first game sees Shepard facing Sovereign, a Reaper left as a vanguard, who plans to allow the Reaper fleet currently hibernating in extra-galactic dark space to invade the Milky Way and destroy all sapient organic life, continuing a mysterious cycle of destruction. The second game takes place two years later, and sees Shepard battling the Collectors, an alien race abducting entire human colonies in a plan to help the Reapers return to the Milky Way. The third and final game will center on the final battle against the Reapers.

The game is set in the year 2183, and moves the player to the role of Commander Shepard, an elite soldier Fleet Systems Alliance (an umbrella organization of all the ancient nations of the Earth).

Mass Effect's story lies primarily in the genre of space opera or Space operates and explores issues such as space colonization, intolerance, vigilantism, and artificial intelligence. History, Man vs. Machine elements, has been compared both with the Berserker novels of Fred Saberhagen and Battlestar Galactica, and the novels Frederik Pohl Portico. According to Casey Hudson, project director at BioWare, Aliens, Blade Runner, Star Wars, Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within and Star Trek were the inspiration for the game.
WARHAMMER 40.000

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II is a real-time strategy/tactical role-playing video game developed by Relic Entertainment and published by THQ for Microsoft Windows based on the fictional Warhammer 40,000 universe. It is the sequel to the Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War video game series.
Well, the influences for the game are varied:

But it is inevitable to note that some of his influences were the Xenomorphs in the Tyranid race:

The Tyranids are a fictional race from the Warhammer 40000 tabletop game and its spin-off media. They are known to the Imperium generally as Tyranids, because Tyran is the first known planet they devoured and where they were first encountered. Luckily for the Imperium Inquisitor Kryptman found oral data concealed on one of the databases on Tyran and dedicated the rest of his life to exterminating the new foe.
They are said to be inspired by H. R. Giger's "exo-skeletal nightmares" in the Aliens films.
Well that was it, I hope you liked ...
