I am starting to think our blue friend is a mutated human or android and we havent even see the space jockey yet the shoulder pad makes me think its a very stretched human space suit, look at the orange lines on it very much like the screenshots of the human suits. In the original alien the scale of the navigation room was ambiguous because Ridley used children in suits to make everything appear larger but when Dallas and company get close up to the chair it appears quite a bit smaller.

if anyone has being paying attention to the whole mythos behind this movie- it has been spoken off that this will draw heavily on the "Chariots of the Gods" book by Eric von daniken. The language and hieroglyphics we keep seeing are ancient Sumerian cuniform text- this gives way to the language being ancient Sumerian- the first language and oldest in recorded history.
This is an assumption and based on what i have seen it would greatly please me to find out this true. the ancient astronaught theory of the sumarians is based around a race of beings or "Star Gods" that said the gods were know as the annunaki. if the "Engineer" "Space Jockey" is Annunaki that would fit really well with the "Chariots of the Gods" theme.
Annunaki translated means- those whom from the heavens cae
If you research the annunaki you will find that they were purported to have mixed there own DNA with proto human erectus to increase our intelligence and use humanity as a slave race to mine for gold for there own specified purposes. i wont go into to much detail but if you research the topic you may find one or two connection that i feel will tie in with the film.
this is speculative but does all seem to fit together well. if you would like to watch a film that ties in with what i have said the watch THE FOURTH KIND-
you may be pleasantly surprised.
have a great weekend guys

@craigmore Just thinking again about communication and I really think you might be spot on that they do not communicate verbally to us and the horror behind that but say they communicate via signs....
Ancient myths always talked about god has given us a sign.... rarly do you hear god speak as it were people looked upon abnormal events as signs from God i.e. God was angry for instance and sent a plague of locusts to punish our greed.
So will they communicate in a much broader way than any verbal communication could possibly do by affecting the environment around us or creating monsters just like in old mythios?

Why do you assume they are enemies? I still can't figure out this assumption. Perhaps they have other motives and goals, but I think the term "enemies" merely emphasizes the likely gap in communication and understanding.
Language?
Binary code, machine language, mathematics. That seems the most likely language to me. Perhaps this is a language that a David8 can understand. Information exchange.

I bought the new issue of EMPIRE magazine; awesome holographic cover and great coverage of Prometheus. The cast give their perspective on the movie and Sir Ridley Scott answers all the questions you could ever ask! Definitely worth the cash:
