I couldn't stop and rewatch Alien yesterday.
Okay facts:
The Company is Weyland Corp.
The Nostromo is instructed by Mother to intervene with hypersleep, cause: Zeta 2 Reticuli, beacon.
We later find out that this is NOT true, but company (Weyland Corp) orders, and that an Android has been placed on the Nostromo to bring back this lifeform.
The derelict spacecraft and the space jockey room looks "infected", I've always found these particular scenes the most intriguing in all of the Alien franchise.. With Giger's help!
Now I've read a lot of different ideas, som good, som very bad..
Here is my take on Prometheus (Oh i've waited YEARS for this to happen):
"We are the gods now" - Yes, the engineers were never gods, but protectors of life.. The Prometheus crew intervene and steal basically the basis of all lifeforms. The engineer by any means needs to protect this.
The infected human we see, I believe is "infected", but the reprocotions mixed with human DNA has a catastrophic sideeffect.. This however i don't believe is all that important. I think Ridley is trying to get us deliberately of the wrong path here.
If you look at the engineer in Alien, it looks like a huge and different face hugger attacked him/it while piloting the ship. Does this indicate an Alien lifeform created by humans, never having any relation to the engineer? Or (as many like) that the Alien itself is a biomechanical weapon.. Now considering Alien, and the instructions given to Ash, someone back at Weyland know about this perfect organism (As Ash explains) on LV426.
Now I see Alien DNA everywhere in Prometheus... subtle things. However Ridley is getting us of in the wrong direction - so the Alien itself (I believe) is simply a biproduct of Weyland Corp. greedy attempt trying to play gods.
I'm so PSYKED about this movie, and while a lot of hype will be on TDKR, i'm pretty sure that Prometheus will come out as (uh ohh) the better movie.. I understand people praising Nolan, but competing with Scott back in what he loves so much, i'm confident that he gives all of us Alien fans some of what we want.. And everyone else a movie on a grand scale..
Big things have small beginnings.....
