"There'll be TWO MORE OF THESE before we get to LV-426."
?????
Seriously? Wow, it's been written as a TRILOGY. Go Lindelof, write your way out of THIS conuncdrum.

FFS!
Your going to watch a film for a couple of hours to escape into whatever world is presented to you on screen and through the speakers so you gotta go watch a bit "unplugged" right?
I think they have delivered a film that stands on its own two feet in terms of central plot, sub plots some answered some not, still with mystery to tickle some wonder. Personally, I want more Prometheus, it's not about Alien now, that's Ripleys story and it's done.
...and what better script writer can you get out there than Lindelof to grab you by the short and curlys in just an hour long pilot or 120minutes or whatever the length of Prometheus.
All this negativity out there by the "experts"!!!
I agree with this [url=http://www.prometheus-movie.com/community/forums/topic/6613&page=2]"hey ....it's like a piece of abstract art....you look and stare and you either get it or you don't....it's not lazy script writing....the plot was written in such a fashion that it is meant to be confusing and add mystery....it does not have to explain anything....it's open for interpretation....just like the questions in Alien was....it does answer some questions....like the jockey is in fact a suit. and it is meant to clarify some assumptions that was made by the first movie...it never answers directly....it begs for an audience with imagination!

I'm hooked and want to see Prometheus 2 and 3, I want to see the engineers home planet and what there problem's with us are about. I just hope RS sorts out the music score and put's elements of Jerrys back in because that is just so... Gigerish?

I just love the constant bleating that you have to put perceptions at the door to enjoy a film and become immersed in it.
This isn't true in my experience.
All films are about escapism and good films achieve this without even trying, regardless of your prior perceptions. I've been to hyped up films and under the radar films which have delivered big time.
I've also seen poor films, hyped or not. IMO Prometheus is the former, its style over substance.
