I can see this being the First Gen type, coming from Holloway and into Shaw...Not as Biomechanicl as the Alien, yet because it has yet to cross with the Space jockey perhaps...

Another thought: Could this creature eventually go on to spawn the eggs that Kane eventually finds in the hull of the derelict???

Just as there's no traditional Xenomorphs in this movie (as according to R. Scott), I'm betting there won't be any other creatures from the original movies as well. Eggs, facehugger, chestbursters, etc.

What's suppose to be the difference between a chestburster and a Xeno?....they one and the same thing...so a chestburster is a newly born xeno....just never really got why people have separate names for these beloved monsters..;)

The hi-Res Trailer is over at Apple Movie trailers and you can clearly see a mouth visible and the smooth head. She had a C-Section, a messy a tube from all the wiggle from her new child.... I guess the Xeno, we think of started off different and then evolved...by Hollow's hand perhaps?

Hmmm... wait a second. If this offspring is theoretically a first-gen xeno- not having any Space Jockey DNA or having mixed with David yet- then why is the Xeno on the wall in the cave (or inside the derelict) appear to be the fully-formed version we are already familiar with? It seems to me that the xenomorph, in the form we know and love- already exists, somewhere.

Calling it the derelict is fine since we now know FOR SURE Aliens is canon. Just read the Weyland site for LOADS of proof. (Acheron, powerloaders, marines) Guess some people are still fighting the truth.

This is my thoughts: These are the research labs or storage facilities of a race that sets out into the waste space and seeds lifeforms on barren planets or re-shapes allready existing life. If just one of those canisters containt the seed for an entire planet, it would be catastrophical if it is opened uncontrolled and unsupervisored (pandoras box...) There is no pre-xeno, no chest or faceburster, only chaos... And i think the progenitor of the Alien is the derelict, there is no human or SJ host, it is only the ship.

As someone said in a previous post this is a proto egg. 2 reasons: - If u put this "squid" vertically he have obviously an egg shape, also with the infamous tentacles on the floor. Yes, it's smaller but it's a kind of proto egg. - Giger depict the life cycle as the egg comin out from a woman belly as first step. And this prove it.

It's very fascinating reading these threads and piece together ideas behind this movie. My take is this, sorry for my lack in knowing the characters names first hand, but her boyfriend impregnated her, as he was infected, the eye scene. She also closes a door, what might be this very creature reaping havoc. It could be a whole new evolution of this creature from what may have be known prior, the merging of our DNA with this creatures DNA.

it's not trying to attack her, if you look close, it's being held by a clamp at the top of the white dome dealio, about at her waist line, like it retracted upward and pulled it out of her belly, ( probably trying to attack her face, or just squirming to squirm and look creepy )

Proto egg makes sense with the life cycle drawing. Afraid the life cycle is getting a bit too complicated. It was complicated already for an organism of any kind. *Prays to movie gods* I'm sure it will be badass.

Im thinking the space jockeys are the goo which interacts with organisms changing their DNA and transforming them into the big blue jockey that goes in the suit; thus the caveman with blue veins in the trailer. However, I think the eel we have seen has a bad reaction to the goo trying to take it over and this results in the killing off of the jockey race. Near extinction a chance of humans interacting with the goo resurrects the jockeys but also gives the eel a chance to spawn. The accidental mix of eel, jockey goo and human and the sex between the infected Holloway and Shaw create the progenitor to the xeno....... could be completely wrong though :)

you can see the Umbilical cord hanging down, so since she's not anesthetized when its being removed i assume the people responsible for her predicament are malevolent and dont give a hoot for her comfort. Very interesting situation and adds to the anticipation.

Again the size is to big to be in her body. It is twice or three times the size of a new born. But maybe its like those sponge toys that grow once they are dropped in water. And thus the toy tie in. ---- grow your own alien bastard! Fun to play with in the tub.
