Potential plot: has this been considered...?

First: sigh. I am a 30 yr old man with an active social life and a hot GF and yet the first thing I do each day is check these forums, hoping for more insight into that what I hope to be the finest movie in a long time. Not sure I can wait 2 months!! Best. Build-up to a movie. Ever. Anyway... I think the 'SJs' and 'bluemen' are different species. From what I have seen so far I think that Ridley may in fact keep the origins of the SJ shrouded in mystery. It's their enduring mystery that keeps us frothing at the brain on these forums! I speculate (going on what I have seen/ read) that the bluemen and humans were 2 different species that were created by the SJs a long time ago, on seperate worlds. The SJs were benevelont. They left clues for us to come and say hi, should we live long and prosper enough. However, the SJs for some reason died out- for some reason their tampering unleashed a plague/ [insert other major calamity/ cataclysm here] and they for the most part died out (remnants ofthe plague/ their technology remain on the homeworld...) Meanwhile humans and bluemen (there may have been many other species on other planets not who have not yet developed enough) reach the required stage of development were they have developed space travel technology and uncover the clues to the SJ homeworld... Bluemen have screwed up their screwed up their planet big time and are hoping for help from the SJs. When the bluemen get there they find the SJs long-gone. They are gutted! BUT...They realise at this point that the SJs created many other species, and it's not improbable that another will uncover the clues and come to the SJ homeworld too. PLUS- bonus- as all the species are created in the image of the SJs there's a good chance that the world that the other species comes from will be a good fit for the world of the bluemen. So they wait on the SJ homeworld, in stasis, until someone else arrives (in our case Prometheus) with the plan that they will head back and rip the back out of Earth. Boom! Comments?

I, too, believe that SJ's and the big "Blues" as I like to call them are different beings. I've heard the term "Engineers" thrown around ( are they the Blues?). It becomes complicated to label who we are seeing (and who we're not). I don't think we have seen the jockeys (walking around, anyway). Here's the rub: The temple statues (giant heads) look like the Blues to me which would indicate that they are the creators. The cave paintings on Earth depict the Blues. That planet has to be their home world or a colony, or a vacation retreat, or something. I think the Blues are running the show and the SJ's came looking and got their comeuppance. They seemed to be piled up in one of the tunnels in the trailer. We came looking as well, and may suffer the same fate. Maybe the prometheus crew 'crosses a line' and the Blues decide to drop the hammer like they may have done to the SJ's. The derelict in Alien sent out a 'warning;' maybe that ship was headed back to the SJ's home world to 'wipe the slate clean and start anew.' That may be what is in store for our home world. I think the Blues are trying to hit the restart button 'cause they are a little disappointed with their 'children.'

What If the map (mentioned as an invitation by Shaw) is actually a trap to get other species to the alien plant & experiment on them??? Just like we conduct experiments on rats ...

Well, that may be the case. The Blues look like they have been making lots of beings. So what are those corpses in the tunnel, I wonder? The head or helmet that is found and examined looks like it came from a jockey. But if it was just laying around to be found in the tunnel, wouldn't that imply that it's owner is probably deceased. It's hard to comprehend that it belonged to one of the Blues we see walking around in the trailer.

That body pic is v interesting! Never seen that. Makes me think my theory is even more correct! A load of deceased SJs! And for those who wanna see a pic how do I add one? Can't see an attachment marker?

To add a pick, I don't think you can simply upload one via your computer. It requires a URL. I went to photobucket, set up a free account, uploaded my images there, and then copied and pasted the URL from that image to the dialogue box that appears when you click on the 'pic' icon in the tool bar just above the reply window. Cursor over the icons and they will tell you what they are. For example, I'll put one in here right now.[img]http://i1240.photobucket.com/albums/gg499/betterduckjmg/RBunis12.jpg[/img]When you cursor over an image in the album that is created, at least on photobucket it gives you four options: email, direct link, HTML, and IMG code. I click on the direct link, and it copies it. So all you have to do is paste in the dialogue box as I mentioned earlier. Good luck, and for the record, I'm not promoting photobucket, its just the sight that I chose. I'm sure their are plenty other good ones out there.
