Internal Alien Disputes......

cool school of thought....but I think everything emerges from the goo in the vials/urns, like the one David is opening...I think space jockeys/xenos/others yet to be seen emerge from this substance...I think the sj's are designed to materialize from a version of the goo or some other shapeless substance....notice in one of the trailers there is a slug like creature invading either the arm of someones spacesuit or it is slithering into one of the two statues pictured behind Shaw in one of the production stills, anyway whatever is slithering is the weird blue like to two humanoid giants, also I seem to think that the two "statues" become animated....if it invades the spacesuit then maybe the person inside is altered, if its the statue maybe it comes to life...along this train of thought, remember the suit on the sj appears to be closing around whoever is seated in that seat....think biomechanoid, a mixtue of organic and mechanical, like the xenos... also in the trailer there are two upright bipeds, also there are two biped statues, I think the vials are intended to be benevolent- unless tampered with!!! then it may become a destructive force, so that if living creatures are infected and mutated...it would ultimately destroy all the infected...think about the tagline for the movie "search for our beginning could lead to our end"....think primordial ooze....intended to create life from the elements...but can infect the existing...the sj's may view the prometheus crew as a threat to their original plan on earth, they may be headed to earth to prevent a genetic plague....since they are more advanced, maybe they would have no problem annhilating earth to prevent an unintended freakshow- by wiping the slate clean and starting over......also, I think there is another step in the heirarchy of creatures, I dont think we will see the gods or engineers, I think the sj's were designed to serve...also this would leave alot to mystery about the next step up in the order of lifeforms...this would be a similar mystery like the one we were left with in ALIEN....we may find out what the sj's are in this movie, but we still might be left wondering who made them.....just a very long thought.....whew

Where exactly did we come up with the idea that engineers and SpaceJockeies are separate races? I've never seen evidence of that myself and, at this juncture, especially since the recent trailer releases, see it being more logical that our blue guy is both enginner and Jockey.....they are one and the same. SpaceJockey was simply a term that came of the original filming of 'Alien' and has been slang for our fossilized friend ever since as we've lacked a better term. The appearance of the term enigneer would seem to be an attempt to name the Jockies apart from slang used to refer to them in fan conversation....

Think of it more of a pedigree, or a job title. In Essence they are the same beings, but the same way a "perfect" android is to a human. The Jockeys are Biomechanical versions of the engineers themselves. We are a lesser organic versions of the Jockeys, and androids are the bio-synthetic versions of us. Im just drawing from the trailers and ancient mythologies. In the trailer we see the saucer ship during the terraforming. Plus throughout all of history we have legends of a creation exceeding the creator only to have the same fate replicated against themselves. Plus with the rolling out of david 8...weyland is pretty much challenging his makers....Ridley has stated the whole movie is about Defiance, inferring a duality. This would extend to the Jockey's fate as well. To congrue with your post...our Blue guy might not be a true engineer...but more of a "jockey" playing engineer, hence the horror. The Mad Scientist.

Here's one thing: Unless the space jockey suits are extremely flexible, the bald blue guys, if they're all built the same, there is no way they're fitting into those slim SJ suits. The decapitated SJ body we see is much slimmer than the blue guys. I've had the notion of warring factions on my mind for the past week. I believe there are the less malevolent jockies, and a more aggressive faction. I believe the one blue guy in the map room with David is helping him in some way. There also may be one super being that is killing/has killed some of the SJs.

I said before that maybe the Space Jockeys are a Waring Race. We have two sides, just as we have USA and USSR in the Cold War. The Alien is a Bio Weapon in which case the Organism in Alien may look different to this movies when we actually see all of it. Just as a AK47 and M16 look different but are made from simular materials and perform the same task. We could see a looking different Organism thats made from same Materials (DNA) to perform a simular Task. Think Bio Weapon Alien Xeno vs Prometheus Xeno to maybe Earth Weapons M16 riffle vs AK47
