I posted the following in another thread and will add to it as my wheels have been turning to the point where the idea has settled into a nice, comfortable place of being... .......Prometheus is the blue fellow we see standing at the waterfall. He steals fire or knowledge from his fellow engineers/SpaceJockies and gifts it to humanity at the dawn of OUR time.....He is punished by his fellow enigneers, hence the affliction we see him dealing with above the falls and the loose origin of the Greek Promethean myth... [img]http://i1178.photobucket.com/albums/x368/bipolarestancia/Prometheus-Space-Jockey-close-up_.png[/img] [img]http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/l546/aliennaire/Prometheus/blue_guy1.jpg[/img] ...is another member of his race who, upon seeing the extent to which we have advanced by our arrival on their planet, decides it is time to deal with any threat we pose by going to earth and unleashing God knows what, hence Shaw's horror that if the crew does nothing, "...there won't be any home to go back to." I also accept the probability that the crew takes what is not theirs, facilitating the ire and wrath of the SpaceJockies......and bringing the Promethean myth full circle in that the crew suffers their own Promethean punishment for attempting to gift to themselves secrets they were not meant to know..... This would all tie things together nicely.....I'm probably wrong and totally full of it as usual, but I like the idea.......

pic #2 middle writting matches wall in trailer Still think Blue guy might be an android trying to become more human by using the magic green goo, but instead becomes somehting more evil by using it.

Oh wow, beautiful pictures and most definitely can see the resemblance to the Xenos in the skin structure of this being. Very interesting. One thing though, he looks grey to me, not blue.

We've refered to him as the Blue Bald guy since December when the teaser trailer was released...If you prefer grey, that's fine.....I think most of us still use blue guy, because most everyone here then knows who we're talking about....

Sounds good craig, very close to my minds eye of the film...there's one thing that I would add and I wish I knew the poster who theorized it, but I cant remember but here it is, maybe someone will recognize it. Weyland is onboard, unknown to the crew until they awake, cared for during the trip by David because he did not enter hyper sleep. All his cocky and arrogant talk at the TED conference when he was younger now shows itself...hes here to to find what he believes is a way to become immortal...and invokes the wrath of the powers that be that you mention....its him alone and not the crew responsible for the payback, but everybody gets caught in the action. Some of the above is mine but mostly the poster I cant remember now his name edit- got the name now....it was Gem]n[

@Dutch ... Yeah that was a theory i had thought of ... trouble is, it would then make Weyland 2yrs older than he is (close to the 95yrs WI predicts?) ... we don't know how frail he was on the start of the mission though do we? ... @TheSNARK ... I like the first part of your theory ... I would still go along with that theory in the other parts ... meaning it's still the same person preparing for a 'get the hell out of here' scenario? ...

Gem ClosedBracket n OpenBracket (?): Thanks for the insightful observation. I know whats been discussed ad infinitum more that most! My comment was not directed at you, but the OP. I was asking him (or her) how the scenario that was posted included the pictograms. It seemed to me that thier existance was not taken into considertaion.

@Gem}n{ Your theory fits so well as a possible "why" the crew is apparently at the receiving end of a lot of negativity, so to speak....the croissant gets rammed, the planetary surface opens up, general mayhem time. I see old age as less than no problem at all, we see advances in medicine all the time. Somewhere I saw an interview where Ridley speaks about Weyland and says 'we see him in the film as a much older man'. I see him as the sole catalyst of wrath, with the entire crew taking the lumps...that is, if the trailer we see actually is a condensed visual depiction of at least part of the film...I suspect that it's the tip of an iceberg...the story goes into something of which no footage has been released, no reference has been made and is the real reason for all the misdirection and general blarney from Fox and the films principals. Oh yeah, the pictograms...Weyland has an ace up his sleeve..he knows what nobody else knows...Noomi missed something back on Earth, but Weylands team figured it partly out..enough to send an old man on a trip believing he can live a lot longer, maybe forever and the crew is expendable. I really dont see age as a problem at all.

I get the impression, The SNARK, that these civilizations were shown, by this Promethean like individual or his punishers, a small window into the nature of the universe, stars and the like, so, at the very least, they or we for that matter would know where they came from; thus the pictogram pattern seen in each archealogical find is known as the place from whence HE or THEY come and should be feared, a fact lost on subsequent generations.

There will be a connection to the Myth, maybe not exact but a connection and indeed the guy at that scene near the Waterfall could be the SJ's Prometheus thats a theory i would go along with. Prometheus the Titan created mankind from his own genes, and without the permission of the other Titans. So the OP's Story fits in very well with this.

I had always meant to ask... What is the origin of that pic with the Blue Meanie walking past the sarcophagus and looking to his left at the "gun". Do we know its actually real and not a fake? Can someone also post the FULL image of that in this topic. I think I see something in the blown up version shown here, that I didnt before and would like to compare it with the full size version. Thanks

Actually, nevermind.... I found the full pic, and I think I have come up with my final version of the function of the "mechanism", but I dont think I will post it until a day or two before the Euro premier and then Im going to disappear until after the Canadian premiere to see I if was right. But!!!.... Im still not sure if the BLUE MEANIE is in fact just the 79 "JOCKEY" in a suit or not.. But here is hint... Im pretty sure the process on the ship involves TWO of them working together.

Anyone have an image of Guy's hand?? That would be a better reference than his face since waterfall man's back is turned to us, but we see his hand clearly.

Thanks Craigamore... I should have come back to check this thread again earlier, but I have one more question now... I think I saw some posts in various topics where I think people mentioned 3 Blue Meanies in this area. Is there in fact a scene that shows 3 on screen at once?? or did I misread that?

There's a clip of the maproom, with david surrounded by what could be three SJs. Some have said that the one in the center is merely a reflection of the one on the left, as he approaches a sight-line with the sphere at the center of the map. The one on the right, could just be a trick of star lights within the map. I think there are probably at least two, anyway. An optical reflection on a sphere is always distorted, and the image of the central figure who seems to appear out of the darkness, from behind the sphere, is not distorted.
