Space Jockey's are actually the "horsie's" and the "jockey" is in fact a little 5 ft. tall 95 lb. alien we haven't seen yet.

This is based on a cross section of some of the posts I have been reading. I for one do not want to see a movie where the inorganic is converted into organic. The Mala'kak vessel, (which for all intents and purposes might not be a Mala'kak vessel if the saucers, and the horseshoes are the technology of different species) is willfully infected by the rogue (nanites). This is done by one of the infected members of the Prometheus crew taking his or her place in the pilots chair. The ship is infected when it attempts to interface with the pilot in the chair. It's how all those lovely bones replace the struts, girders, and cross members, holographic interfaces, displays, mechanisms.

@Ghost I like your idea. I really wish PROMETHEUS would bring back serious hard core science fiction to widescreen cinema with whiz bang STAR WARS elements (space dogfights, planetary mystery, futuristic gadgets) as added bonus.

Vixen: What is a 'wane bet'? (just kidding!) How's this for a theory.... The writers and creators of Prometheus sat down and came up with a list of all the cockamamie (shit I hope I spelt that right!!) ideas that fan-boys would come up with, and then created a movie that is no where near any of those scenarios. My theory is that the "We were wrong" realisation will not be fully explained. The screen shot from the viral web site (the one that shows someone trying to get something back on board the Prometheus while someone blocks the way) will be the "we stole from the gods" tag line. It doesn't matter what 'it' is. It's the MacGuffin of this movie. (Hell it could be the right testicle of an Engineer!) They know where we're from, and because we fucked with them, they will fuck with us! It wasn't an invitation, it was a warning. It wasn't an invitation it was a 'fuck off and leave us alone". It was an invitation, but we can't come up with a good enough reason to make it seem logical! That's it. Mutating humans into Sjs, women giving birth to eels (I like that one), connection to the original Alien movie, is this LV_426, is the ET ship the 'Derelict'? Questions that NOTHING AND NO ONE ASSOCIATED WITH THE MOVIE WILL ANSWER. Forget it. This movie is shrouded in mystery. There is no way that 20th Century will fuck it up by releasing anything that will give the movie away. No matter how many viral images/web sites it creates or releases. I've just popped my own fan-boy balloon!

I'm wondering if the derelicts are some kind of Ark. The ampules could be storing the genetic materials, personalities, history of the SJs maybe? Maybe humans are like the canaries in the mine? When we have advanced sufficiently to reach the SJs on the progenitor world, they know that Earth is ready to "harvest" and colonize?
