MemberOvomorphApr-01-2012 7:15 AMOne can obviously see that the Prometheus crashes into the SJ ship near those vaginal like doors that Dallas, Lambert and Kane use to enter the ship in Alien. So, why are there no visible burn marks on the SJ ship near the doors? Leave aside Alien and Ridley not thinking of a prequel at the time - I'm talking about even in Prometheus there are no burn marks near the doors. Sorry, had trouble posting pics. If someone could post them, thanks.

MemberOvomorphApr-01-2012 7:40 AMWe said a while back this could possibly be a Post production thing to be added later ...

MemberOvomorphApr-01-2012 7:47 AMTwo different scenes occurring at different time, maybe?
What do we know about the movie after all these very enthusiastic speculations? Nada, none, zilch! Absolutely nothing. We have master of temporal manipulation, Damon Lindelof, working the screenplay over, and in addition to that, trailers usually are cut to maximize impact & intrigue, not plot logic. In one of the interviews, either Damon or Ridley said that "...manipulation of reality is very important aspect of the film..."

MemberOvomorphApr-01-2012 7:51 AMWell we know that it lands point up to the sky......i wonder if that sand storm blows it over. To land how we all hope it lands lol.
Plus.....is it by accident that the hologram lazers are the same colour as the blue mist above the eggs in 1979 Alien?

MemberOvomorphApr-01-2012 8:00 AMThe SJ ship is WAY too hard to suffer damage from a mere human ship.

MemberOvomorphApr-01-2012 8:26 AMA. The ship is capable of self repair......hence the bone structures in 1979 movie.
B. Its indestructable which is why it doesnt collapse under its own weight from that height.
I talked about this in another post with questions that needed answering. Somewhere on here lol.
And i meant the hologram colour sorry.....rather than lazers. The hologram of the star chart in the chair room........well its the same colour as the blue mist above the eggs in Alien that reacts when broken.

MemberOvomorphApr-01-2012 8:54 AMI think there is a LOT of misdirection going on with these clips.
First off, if the impact point is in fact just above the "giney" slits in the "crotch" area, that is the actual location of the bridge/control/holo-map room... whatever you want to call it.
So, not only is there no visible damage in other clips, but there is no evident massive damage to the bridge of the "Derelict" from 1979. ((btw, I do NOT think these are the SAME vessels...))
Secondly, when we first see the Jockey vessel n the trainlers rising, it appears to be going STRAIGHT up like a moon-shot or shuttle launch. It doesnt look like there is any way that the Prometheus will be able to overtake it after it drops the escape shuttle/EEV (whatever).
So that would mean that the Prometheus not only overtook the Jockey vessel, but was also able to manouver ahead of it so that it could make a ramming run directly on its center mass... This doesnt seem to quite make sense.
I think there is going to a complete 180 degree twist in the final acts of Promethues.. whether that OTHER Jockey vessels emerging from other landing bays, who knows?

MemberOvomorphApr-01-2012 10:12 AM...but if the ship is capable of self repair, why didn't the "burned" hole that Kane went down in Alien heal?

MemberOvomorphApr-01-2012 10:16 AM^^^^^
I think Cameron took that as part of his story inspiration... That in effect, something had BURNED ITS WAY OUT.... after the fact.

MemberDeaconApr-01-2012 6:53 PMI am also going for the different Ship to in Alien Scenrio.
Yes it and Space Jockeys look a little different but as i said the slight differences to the ships are nothing really they look different but are meant to be same kind of ship.
I liken this to how the Viper Fighters in BattleStar Galactica from 80's and latest version look a little different but suposed to be the same thing. Not like the Cylon Ships that look a lot different.
The intresting thing to me is the Alien Derelict does not have the like Sarcophagus things around the centre where the Pilot Chair and Cannon/Scope rise.
What happened to these if it is the same ship?
This leads me to think its not the same ship but same type of ship none the less and looking at scenes there could be more than one Hanger where they come from.
As for how the film will pan, well i expect it to suprise us and be really thinking out side of the box

MemberOvomorphApr-02-2012 6:57 AMRemember that scene in one of the trailers where Shaw says "It's changing..." and they show part of the wall of the derelict ship morphing or something? I think this scene is actaully post-collision and the ship is repairing/healing itself.
