Talking Sequels, yes or no?

I agree with you, if it's done well, then go for it. But, I really feel a sequel would work only if Ridley Scott returned.

I agree, James Cameron is too busy with his own blue space people anyway. Maybe a spin off? I mean either the company lose Prometheus completely or someone survives and is 'shut up' and locked away to rot etc...

Yeah, that's another plot idea. Or, they could go a bit in the direction of Star Trek:First Contact, and have Earth in its final hours as the Space Jockeys attack. The Prometheus arrives and what's left of the crew attempts to mount an attack on the SJs ship.

depend how much the ending of prometheus is tied to Alien ... if really the movie end with the derelict crashing-SJ chestbusted the space for a sequel is very thin ...

That's why I was thinking spin off for sequel to follow Weyland industries rise to Weyland-Yutani ? Or maybe how they plan to send the Nostromo's crew to LV-426?

IMO, I dont think that the end of Prometheus will be the begining of Alien. I think since that Ridley is saying that it is its own story, I think that the SJ and the Derelict that we see in Alien, leaves midway threw the movie. Thus the "same universe" as Alien. Now how that Derelict crashes or lands or whatever, is a nother story. Prometheus has its ties to Alien but nothing direct. IMO.

I don't mind at all if they make a sequel. FOX has already discussed their interest in expanding the story on in a second film if Prometheus does well at the box office and gets a good rap. You know, if Prometheus is able to tie in to the ALIEN universe well and its able to expand the mythos of the ALIEN universe, I don't see why a sequel would be a bad thing or a prequel even. The first 4 Alien films are to me one strand of the Alien universe, thats Ripley's story. There's other stories out there, more to explore. So if Prometheus can come off well and not just be a prequel to the Alien franchise but a whole new story taking on the quality heritage of its predecessors in the last 4 films why not? It gives us Alien fans more to explore, more to enjoy and more to drool over.

Yes Ripley Clone 8 you are on the money, if the first franchise was about Ripley then this one may well be about the 'universe' that was before that, and the birth of the companies interest in bio weapons. It's all very exciting in my Alien obsessed head lol.

If there is any sequel talk going on, Tyler Perry needs to be considered as director. So do it. Consider an Alien film directed by Tyler Perry.
