The High Priest
MemberOvomorphApr-10-2012 10:07 AMOk, so we then switch to the mission briefing scene, this is where we get some cool ass shit! Vickers does a brief intro and then a holo deck, as per star trek surrounds them and an ageing, and I mean really old Peter wetland walks up to them all with a walking stick and pet dog! He talks about his vision and lust to know where humans have come from etc. he says he is now dead, rip, humour etc and they have reached their mission destination. He then starts to talk about how David is the closest thing he has ever had to a son, the camera pans to vickers who look disgusted with this comment. He says David will never die, but also will not experience the pleasures of humanity as he has no soul. David once again very data like, looks on with a smug ish child like smile. Wetland then introduces dr shaw and holloway who stand up, Peter then turns around and walks away and the holodeck disappears. Holloway then says, never followed a ghost before but here goes, and they begin the mission brief we have seen in the trailers. The big juicy but of course is when we see the planet constellation, a really big planet and a tiny one orbiting it, the destination planet LV223, not a 426 in sight! We then move on to the truly awesome landing sequence which I will cover in the next thread, I know I said three but I just want to keep getting the info through!

Weird is she Jealous?
"He says David will never die, but also will not experience the pleasures of humanity as he has no soul."
Also an odd thing to say and an odd reaction from David.
Great observations. I am happy you noted the subtle things like those.

MemberOvomorphApr-10-2012 10:29 AMExcellent post!
I like this detail...very intriguing!
Please clarify though... You say we see a giant planet and the small destination orbiting it. So there is only 1 (one) small moon obititing a planet??
This is VERY CURIOUS as we know that the destination of the Nostromo is 1 of 3 (THREE!!) small moons orbiting a larger planet.
EDIT... Oh wait...duhh.. The nomenclature tells it all I guess. LV-2XX vs. LV-4XX.
This is a different planetary cluster altogether... but same general vicinty as the 4 series one. ((I do recall its a binary star system))
